@bbrannddX I just read "Last of the Breed," and I complete agree with you. I literally had no idea how it was going to end until the last word of the last sentence. When it was over, I put it down and exclaimed aloud, "Wow!"
I hate to admit this but im a cheater. I use to check out a luis lamour book and read the first 2 chapters to get their names. then make up a boring story they would go on during the book so no one else would check it out. then read the last 2 chapters to tell about the ending. somtimes i had to awitch thier names around. But i passed each book report this way.
@everyonesmyfriend Hi there! Let me make a friendly suggestion: as soon as you can, pick up one of the books and read the whole thing. You'll realize just how much you missed out on, and you'll want to read much more, believe me. No one could tell an exciting story the way this guy could. Reading his books is far more fascinating than watching a move or television. Do me a favor: when you can, pick up a copy of Shalako, or Hondo, or Conagher, and then read it and let me know what you think!

I love Mr. L'Amour's books, though he did have a bad habit of Mary-Sue characters....
Currently reading "Last of the Breed." Quite a cool adventure, and a wonderfully original premise!

I have read perhaps of L'Amour's books, and "Last of the Breed" is perhaps the best adventure, next to "The Walking Drum."
I love the ending!
