  • I live in Butler, all I can say is fuck this place, full of drugs and welfare rats, im out of here soon.

The townships of Butler are nice to live in though, ill admit.

  • butler sucks ass..fuck the city council and all the elected officals and the cops for not stoping this drug epidemic

  • Butler city is full of food stamp worthless garbage drug users. butler is a shadow of its former self ( not that it was ever good, but it was ok) i work in town and live in meridian (meridian is nice). 3 years of working in the city is driving my insane, i cannot stand butler at all. everyone is this town is a worthless piece of dog shit. just go into friedmans on the first day of the month and you will see

  • I have to admit that I have felt that way many times.

  • Diverkev, are you fucking kid me, dude? You're comparing two complete polar opposites. You're comparing platinum (Hawaii) with dogshit (Butler, PA). I don't even know how your brain ticks to assume that Butler is even relatively similar to living in pacific on a island the caliber of beauty as Hawaii is. The only bad thing about living in Hawaii is the dormant volcano there. Butler should inherit that, actually. It would be beautiful to hear about molten lava spewing all over that shithole.

  • I gotta agree with fauxhawk there. Butler is a complete shithole filled with fucking douchebags. I hope and PRAY that Butler fucking burns, or suffers the worst from a widespread epidemic. I have to admit, there are few things I hate in life and Butler is one of them. Even more, the pieces of shit that reside within it. Fuck Butler County. I wish I could post this comment on a big sign right on top of the fucking courthouse for everybody there to fucking see.

  • Very nice tribute to a place that goes back to my childhood in the '50s and '60s. My Mom came from there and even though my brother and I didn't grow up there, Butler left an indelible impression on both of us. Warm happy memories of swimming at Butler Pool as well as Deshon (now the VA Hospital), incredible hot dogs with that great sauce at the Hot Dog Shop, and waking up to hear all the church bells ringing in the early morning stay with both of us to this day.

  • I was born and am still being raised in Butler. I have been so many other places but honestly I wouldnt trade my life for the world. I <3 Butler. (:

  • the problem with butler is that Allegheny county started a policy that you need to take a mandatory drug test and show pay stubs to get on h.u.d. or welfare. butler county doesn't require any of that so people from Allegheny and Lawrence county come here for free-bees.

the heroin talk isnt as bad as everyone makes it seem. sure there are drugs in butler but there are drugs everywhere. the police could easily get rid of drugs but thats how the county makes their money.

  • @euroaaRON1 drugs in butler are very bad. and police do NOTHING about it. I work on mainstreet and i caught some piece of shit guy shooting up behind our building. this is in the middle of the afternoon.. just look at the poeple walking around town. butler is total shit!

  • 0:33, is that a clip that is recorded from the jeephills, or am I wrong?

  • thats jeephills, most definantaly

  • Butler's slogan should be

"At least we aren't New Castle!!"

Much of what I loved about Butler is gone now...E-cause, Tommy Gutless, The Wall, The Hole(it is still gone, no?) Gilliland's wings, most of the friends I met there have moved on or been incarcerated by the "probation for profit" system.

If you visit, enjoy it,but be careful, with most of its steel gone Butler depends on its legal system to generate income.

Come on vacation, leave on probation, come back on revocation...

  • i live in butler.and i love it

  • Ya know, everyone bashes Butler. Yeah, It's not perfect, and yeah IT IS rather like Children of the Corn on Heroin--- But it's still my HOMETOWN. Hate it if you want, comment if you must, but damnit realize one thing... It's your Hometown.

  • Not knocking you at all...but the whole Children of the Corn on dope is b.s.

Drugs are everywhere, &will be as long as there is a profit to be made. With the $ that Butler makes on it's law enforcement, crime, probation & the jail they have 0% interest in cleaning up the city. Believe me if there was no dope in Butler a lot of people would be out of jobs.

People always say Butler holds some record for heroin use per capita, just like New Castle claims some huge murder rate, it's all bullshit.

  • the hot dog shoppe i loved that place to bad the guy gambled it away =\

  • I have learned that it's really up to the individual whether where they is heaven or hell. I can tell you that living in Hawaii has it's ups and downs. I have had my share of hard times here. Its not a paradise here when you have4 to pay bills. I pay $ 1000.00 per month for a studio apartment per month. We call the high price of living here"The paradise tax".

I do have to say that Hawaii is much warmer and prettier than Butler.

  • @diverkev I have to add that I've been all over the world in the military and that McConnel's Mills is still one of my top five most beautiful places in the world. It's up there with the Bavarian Alps. Hounduran ,Thai Rainforest , Similan Islands, and Cloudcroft NM. and that's no Bullshit. (Is Bullshit one or two words?)

  • Wow I love yer vid. I can't believe the hometown that I hate could be so pretty. Maybe I need to look at it thru different eyes huh?

  • Its a shame these wonderful small towns aren't what they used to be. I was born in Grove City, but am now in a huge town in Florida that is full of crime, road rage, people upon people, condo upon condo, No woods, no silence, no peace. Be happy you have what you have..or haven't got. (smile)

  • butler isnt a truck stop theres a butler in texas and jersey the texas butler is a dump

  • Butler is one giant truck stop.

  • Last September while I was home. Butler did seem depressed

  • My Sister, neice and nephew live right by you then Cu Tie2289.. on Bessemer, LOL

  • have you ever been to the Lyndora Hotel for their chicken wings? They are awesome!!! I used to go there with my dad years ago when he worked a Pullman Standard. ( the Rail yard in Lyndora)It closed back in the 80's.

  • Yes I've been there a couple of times. Last September I saw that they had torn down Pullman.

    That place was huge.

  • @diverkev they rebuilt it and know they have players from all over the country play their.. its nice

  • I live there. I live by lyndora hotel. Luvvvvvvv there wings LOLZ/

  • I'm from out in East Butler, and I've been to the lyndora hotel once or twice, and your right that is a pretty nice place

  • Best wings ever over there :)

  • I grew up in Butler back in the 80's and and was born there. My familily still lives there and tell me that it has gotten pretty bad. I also lived in Lyndora for awhile. Sad to see a town that was so simple and nice go to the dogs.. speaking of dogs, I love the picture of the old Hot dog Shop in town.. is it still open??? I havent been in Butler for quite awhile obviously, LOL.

  • nope no hot dog shop anymore

we got a new one but it doesnt compare

  • UGH.

  • drive down west brady and tell me how great butler is

  • I'm Butler Pa born and raised :)

  • i live in butler now =)

  • I grew up in butler--went to st paul's school---i think you did a great job. There are by far worse places to live but your tribute was to the people of butler and a salute to those who serve----good job!--it was a nice tribute---

  • Butler sucks!!!

  • too bad butlers not so nice, it gets worse and worse. it's sad.

  • I'm from Butler, I moved back in 03 but visit often. I truly miss home. If you all think Butler's bad try living in Houston. Drugs and shootings, there isn't any comparison.

  • i live there it is the herione capital :}

  • Yes I know. Thats why we moved my mother out of our old neighborhood. Here in Honolulu ICE is the drug of choice.

  • completly agree

  • DiverKev- The Comment was not directed towards you or your video. It was obvious you had some fond memories of Butler and I thought you did an excellent job in presenting it! The comment was directed towards any and all negative posts.

  • Thank you for replying back. I lived in Margate FLA in the late 70'so I do see where you are coming from. I also understand where the negative posters are coming from. But I tell myself that it could always be worse.

    Thanks again for your comment

  • If you think you live hell, try living in South Florida. At least up there they speak English!!

  • There is nothing in this video that says that living in Butler is like living in Hell. This is a tribute to some of my fondest memories of Butler. I learned to appreciate them more after seeing how other people had to live. A good example is East Germany or the Middle East.I've learned that it is up to you whether or not you live in hell. I've lived in Hawaii for 15 years and I have called it hell more than once. The only real hell I've been exposed in my life was working for Bill Morgan

  • haha i live in butler right now, i think it is an ok place, but its too boring for me.

  • I miss Butler as well, I'll be moveing back in the next 2 years

  • i miss butler i used to live there but now i live in gay ass kentucky

  • yeah, i live in butler today. and it sucks pretty bad.

  • Nice video, I was born and raised in Prospect area, moved away 22 years ago. Fortunately, McConnell's Mills is still beautiful, I wish I could say the same about Butler, last time there I left totally depressed...What happened to the nice town and busy Main Street I remember?

  • Hey I live here, and it actually sucks quite a bit. Quite a lot. Actually, it altogether blows. Hard.

  • nice video and all, but Butler is one messed up town.

  • I was home for the first time in 12 years in 2004. The safe neighborhood by Saint Pauls School had tuned in Crack Alley so after my fatther died we moved my mother to a safer place. It's a shame

    ALOHA

  • I know what you mean, my Grandparents use to live near Saint Paul's but eventually moved. They have a daughter, she was around 13 when they moved.

  • I drove down Brady street where my grandparents lived. I used to run around and play there with my cousins when I was little. It looked pretty scary.

  • Yeah, number one for heroine in all of Pennsylvania, we should be proud. I unfortunately still live here.

  • thats my home town

  • i love the video it made me tear sweetie and i love the song its so great. your so great keep the good work up.

  • Great video! Love the song, but if you're American how can you not!

  • Lovely song
