Could it be that Miss Winehouse's despondancy deepened as she experienced near worship status? After all, the people who knew her either used her or treated her as a person with normal expectations. The human soul can only take so much overkill and overdrive... probably makes life meaningless to be treated like a god by a world that does not even know what you are feeling inside.
I think she did not die from her fame, it was her soul that was far too vast and plentiful, and with a talent she had to expressed her soul, that is what killed her. Her spirit became free in her music, and when the music stopped she saw that life was shallow, cheap and meaningless, compared to her gilt, that is what killer her. Amy doesn't sell albums to the mainstream simply because she is NOT MAINSTREAM. She does remind me of some of older black soul singers of the 1950's. She goes beyond them with music that touches the soul. Never knew of her until after she was gone. Thank God for the internet!

Yes..her music is eternal & immortal..Whatever she had achieved up to her decease is still living together with her voice, same as June23rd. I sometimes ask myself the question: Could her soul be belonging to a jazz singer of the past generations? But is anyone aware of such a talent since the very beginning of jazz music? I wish Amy did go further because she had so much potential, so much talent and a gift for her singing her heart out with so much soul and intensity. She had such a knack for music with her wonderful phrasing, slurring of words, nuances, and interpretation of a lyric, Amy's roots lied in jazz and I wish she came out with a jazz album recording the classic standards putting the Amy Winehouse stamp on it as she did with "I Should Care".
I really wish Amy had sung more classic songs from the Great American Songbook like she did with "Lullaby Of Birdland", "No Greater Love", "Someone To Watch Over Me", "I Should Care", "Round Midnight" and with the upcoming "Body and Soul" duet with legendary Tony Bennett. I would have loved for her to continue singing songs that stemmed from her jazz roots. Maybe if she lived long enough she would have explored that avenue again after her masterpiece album Back To Black. Now we'll never know :(

I've followed the beauty of Amy's career now, since before her American success, she's always been able to access another portal of pain, with her amazing talent- expressing true grief, heartache, and loss. Yes..her music is eternal & immortal..Whatever she had achieved up to her decease is still living together with her voice, same as June23rd. In that sense, whether her body exists or not is not very significant. The only thing that disappeared of her is not something living but the expectations of her. For sure, there is no dead. I wish Amy did go further because she had so much potential, so much talent and a gift for her singing her heart out with so much soul and intensity. She had such a knack for music with her wonderful phrasing, slurring of words, nuances, and interpretation of a lyric, Amy's roots lied in jazz and I wish she came out with a jazz album recording the classic standards putting the Amy Winehouse stamp on it as she did with "I Should Care".

I really wish Amy had sung more classic songs from the Great American Songbook like she did with "Lullaby Of Birdland", "No Greater Love", "Someone To Watch Over Me", "I Should Care", "Round Midnight" and with the upcoming "Body and Soul" duet with legendary Tony Bennett. I would have loved for her to continue singing songs that stemmed from her jazz roots. Maybe if she lived long enough she would have explored that avenue again after her masterpiece album Back To Black. Now we'll never know :(

All those who want to understand the circumstances of her death "should care" about its inability and / or repulsion to enter show business and celebrity tabloid. As she mentioned a long time before she has gone, she did not want to be a singer to become a celebrity, but only intended to be a musician.
