  • I've noticed in most of your videos that you generally spend more time than your opponent during the early and middle stages but rarely get into sticky time situations like the one in this one. You've got good time management skills.

  • That was really well played by you! Fun to watch...

  • You're really good at using time. I can't believe how solid your play is.

  • 4:53

    Rfd1

    Rxd1

    Rxd1

    0-0

    Rd7

  • At 00:51moves like a4,a5,Na4 and Nb6 would allow an outpost on b6.That would be really annoying for your opponent.

  • if anybody could help on telling me wich software is he using i will uprisite it very much :)

  • @bitsgr He is playing on the internet chess club using interface 'Dasher"

  • so close, gg.

  • nice play

  • Comment removed

  • 6:58 could just allow Bxh2 to embarrass him ala spassky fischer game 1 from their 1972 match.

  • NICE!

  • i find u explaining ur thoughts while playing very entertaining ;p

  • Why is that guy playing so badly?

  • Well done Jerry!

  • hey jerry, I just stumbled across your videos and found them very instructive, entertaining, and helpful! keep em coming!

  • great job defeating very high rated player:)

  • You always get out of the tough situations. :D

    Benson and Tonic

    mysapce/bensonandtonicproductions

  • hey who knows maby he was letting someone else play like a friend??? and he didnt care about his rating i dont

  • I don't understand why in the main line of the Sicilian, after the Knight captures on d4, more people don't play e5. It is free tempo by developing a center pawn.

  • fabulous!!!

  • i hate when good games get ruined by time :)

  • hey, i just want to say that i enjoy your comments and i learn each time that i saw 1 of your videos.

    Thanks !

  • Good game, awesome commentary

  • sif winning isnt impressive enough

but you go ahead and beat a higher opponent while teaching at the same time. glad ive subscribed i have much to learn from you. I am inspired!

  • AWESOME!!!!!

  • great play!

  • great video, continue uploading these live blitz games, we really like it. 5*

  • That worked out well!

  • @Catsfaith Thx!

  • This game was... interesting to say the least. Happy holidays Jerry.

  • Another very informative game.

    Very tight.

  • Excellent job, I love when you go through your thought process to see how you make your moves. Got tight at the end there, great job!

  • I think the main difference between winning and losing this game was your push to box out his bishop with your knight + pawn on his queen side and his two obvious blunders. Bad day for him, good one for you. ;)

  • Fantastic as always. Keep up the great work.

  • im surprised how few moves you seem to think ahead for your rating.

    nice win, merry xmas jerry

  • @trixapete How many moves should I be seeing ahead for my rating? =)

Happy Holidays to you as well.

  • @ChessNetwork

I'm surprised too. I feel as if you analysis is simplistic. I recommend that you play your game and then do a more extended analysis like in normal games.

  • @ChessNetwork

They seem to think that a stereotypical NM is a Kasparov ;)

  • It really depends if you can reconize patterns. Some people can see 20 moves ahead or just a few moves. Nice game =)

  • @trixapete This is indeed surprising ... Jerry gave me with his comments an abolute new view on this game and suddenly - after playing a couple of years at a rating of about 1400-1500 - I understand now, what strategy is. It's of infinite worth for me to see, what he doesn't like, what he wants to prevent, how he plans getting something he wants and so on ... It seemed, I learned everything wrong and the most not at all ...

  • @trixapete It gives me hope

  • Hey I was wondering whats your real rating, and what do you think your opponent rating was (I mean, no way this guy can be 2358 and plays that bad)

Merry Christmas and thanks again for your videos

  • @flamboyant514 22+ Can't judge a player on one game.

  • Well maybe not but you can obviously tell hes far from being rated even 2000, real 2000 and up players dont make dubious moves like in this game. The guy is 1700-1800 at BEST

  • Your simply just wrong. What are you rated?

  • No i watch him play on FICS. he is like 2100. 2100 isnt as strong as you may think.

  • Thanks for the upload!!! Your thought process is so awesome!!! I'm learning so much :) Thanks!!!! And merry Christmas and NEw YEAR!!! (;

  • @kevinhdo90 Great! Glad to hear it and a merry xmast to you as well. =)

  • WoW fantastic game! Have a Wonderful Merry Christmas and a happy new year!!

  • Thx. you too! =)

  • Great game Jerry

  • @firmitas68 Thx

  • Why not bishop g5

  • @firmitas68 I didn't like having to respond to a Rd5.

  • exciting

  • @NottinghamEngland thx =)

  • great game! :) fairly conservative in strategy with lots of exchanges :)

but ended up owning him, and he had a fairly high rating too! more of these videos ;)

    cheers!

  • @dreamtheater39 Thank you dream...=)

  • keep them going, as always when i saw a new vid from you i was just like =D. its awesome to see how advanced your thinking is. whenever i play i think nothing about where their knight WANTS to go so i can implement moves to stop it etc. one of my friends was rated 2300 on FICS...whenever we play he destroys me :p now i know what similar stuff he thinks xD. although for what it's worth i'm pretty sure you'd beat him fairly easily ;)

  • @St3lf Thanks for the compliment/feedback. Not so sure about beating someone of that strength easily. =)

  • @sxs0nar Hello. =)

    Thanks for the suggestion.

  • hey i saw tht guy on fics (ur opponent) playing lol koool =D

  • @nottybanks7 Cool. =)

  • wow... that was just a great game... it's great to hear your thought process as you play through, i enjoy hearing your commentary during your game

  • @aetyate Great. Thanks for the feedback. =)

  • Boooorin ! Le´s MATE instead ! ( :

  • how do I observe these games?

  • @OntologicalQuandary Observe them LIVE?

Once on FICS...type "observe chesseducator" OR "follow chesseducator"

  • great stuff once again man, it's very cool to hear what someone of your level thinks when playing such an intense game. keep it up!

  • @andydeniedyou Thanks. I appreciate the compliment.

  • @J03lWD It might eventually come up...especially in these LIVE blitz games.

    Thanks for the comment/rating. =)

  • Awesome stuff Jerry! 5* I saw a comment I think on your last video of someone voting for u to play kingscrusher for an exhibition and thought process of both sides. I wanted to put in my vote for that too! It would be so awesome! Keep being awesome!

  • @JVIikel Thanks...yes, I can see such as very educational. =)

  • good game

  • @Sharkbait173 Thx =)

  • These vids do seem slower than KCs, but still interesting, maybe its Kc's accent that makes the video go faster xD anyway, great vid, looking forward to seeing some of those d4 openings in future vids : )

  • @Immortalassassin1 Thanks for the feedback. I'm sure d4 will be seen again.

  • I agree with Taunting. I wish the games were more frequent. Kingscrusher's are good but they're so much faster than your games (no offense) and there's a lot going on . . . this is another level of playing and I like to see both.

  • @mraxeguy Thanks for the feedback. What level of play is this? =)

  • not that i wanted you to lose but i was hoping that blunder was actually a brilliant move

  • @xBakaPeterx So you could hear me let out a grunt?! =)

  • so the ending would be more interesting !

  • 2:58 your knight coulda went to F4 to protect your queen

  • @PolTehPwnage to f3 yes...I didn't even consider that.

  • Hi 9.e5 gives white a slight advantage. An alternative is 9.Be3.10...Bb5? 10...Qc7 = 12. Qxd8 is only = 12.Be3 seems to keep whites advantage 13...Nd5!? 13...Bd6 seems a little better. 14.Bd2 is fine but I would have tried 14.Rfd1 so if 14....Nxe3? 15.Rxd8+ followed by 16.Nxf7+ or 16. fxe 14...Bd6 15.Bd4 now on 15...Bxe5 or 15...f6=

17...0-0? gives white a slight advantage better as you said is just 17...b4. after 20...e5?? the game is clear. 20...Rd6 seems better += Good game. ghfmp

  • @ghfmp Nice points you've made. I didn't take note of the possibility for Rfd1 instead of Bd2 as a result of Rxd8 and Nf7 fork. Thank you for that. =)

  • Jerry, stop commenting everyone back. and make another video. lol

  • @TauntingIntelligence You yelling at me? =)

  • i like these blitz games, it's always good to know what a good chess player is thinking while he plays. It helps me a lot!

  • @Ihatepeople666z Great...good to know ur benefiting. =)

  • Great stuff! I like the tactical comments along the way... Thanks!

  • @envisionluke You're welcome. Glad you liked. =)

  • Again, I am very entertained by your blitz game video. Ty for posting. I hope to see more.

  • @TauntingIntelligence Thanks...I appreciate the feedback. =)

  • Great, great game. Really intense. Loved it. I was cheering on you till the last second ! I want some more !

  • @LemonVince At first I thought this was ur second comment to this video...there's a youtuber named LemonyDragon. =)

Glad you enjoyed. Keep an eye out for the next one! =)

  • best one so far bro, love your uploads and thanx for listening to me and playing against a higher ranked opponent, keep up the good work! 5/5 :)!

  • @Muki13 Thanks...didn't know it was going to be against someone of a high rank but it just so happened to turn out that way. Thanks for being a loyal rater/commenter. =)

  • Nice game, I can never play so fast =]

  • @Omeeeeed Takes practice. =)

  • lol im thinking how he got to that high score! Great video keep it up! Love seeing you win hahaha

  • @incorporatedfx Must have won a lot. =)

Thanks for the comment...keep em' coming. =)

  • 5* nice job, I hope to see more games.

  • @dashotrk Thanks. =)

  • Live Blitz games entertain me as much as they educate me. ;o

  • @B12adSC 2 for 1 special! =)

  • I being a novice, it was helpful for me that you were thinking out loud, even though it may have slowed you down slightly.

  • @tantzer That's the intent...to allow the viewer to know the thoughts running through my mind. =)

Thanks for continuing to comment tantzer. =)

  • Watching your games is relaxing and interesting. I look forward to more.

  • @Lhurgolf So much so that you zzzzzzzz?! =)

    Thanks.

  • As always a real treat to watch your videos. Very nicely played, sir!;)

  • @mormril Thank you and a treat of receive a comment/rating from you. =)

  • i hate blitz games..... and yes it's because i suck at them :P

  • @cloudazer It's not for everyone. =)

  • Man! you make beating an opponent of that rating look like nothing... i just get nervous and blow it! i need to work on it lol gg 5/5 as always

  • @teddster214 Thanks teddster214...I can seemingly always count on a view from you. =) thx!

  • @ChessNetwork yep =) your welcome cant wait for the next one.

  • Very nice Jerry. Its alwayz nice when your opponent drops a pawn in the opening heh.

  • @DionMarinos Yes! Then it's a matter of technique to win it. =)

  • Another great video! I've learned so much from Kingscrusher's live blitz series, and now I'm learning from you, too! Please keep them coming :)

  • @tndowns1122 Great! Glad to hear of it! Keep the comments coming... =)

  • Well played!

  • @elbay2 Thanks elbay

  • 5:47 after Black castles maybe it is better to begin with f3 because the pawn is then on a light square.

Anyways, nice job with a less familiar opening!

  • @Robotman42 Not sure about that. I think just immediately bringing the king to e2 is best..placing him on a white square. Thanks for the compliment again Robotman =)

  • Wow what a blunder! I think you should ask for a rematch, I'd like to see how the game would turn out had he not made that blunder.

  • @worldsavy We'll likely play again.

  • This was a convincing win even though time ran down. I'd like to see you make a ckmate, however. I just know that you can do it. It was already said about the A file pawn push but that was what I thought too. More vids plz! =D

  • @heraclitus44 Thanks. There's been a video with checkmate. =) Thanks for the comment.

  • I meant besides that one. Perhaps I'm just eager for more ChessNetwork?

  • Haha...okay i see.. =)

  • Jerry , lets just play a couple of games and see , i bet your the real deal at checkers too ;)

  • @lazimofo90 Ahhh...no thanks.. :|

  • hahaha you see? defeating you is impossible! xD even when in the beginning you were 1 minute lower on time he lost his!

    great game ;)

  • @seppesai Ohhh...hang on now...you'll be seeing games I lose as well soon enough. =)

    Thanks for the compliment.

  • oh, dont worry, keep winning, that way i can forget my own loses Y_Y

i've watched all your vids and more, i am reading a book by Roberto Grau and i play everyday and still there's this guy i cannot defeat! and he doesn't study chess as much as i!

    what can i do U_U

  • nice win buddy, keep up the videos

  • @mwGmeiner Thanks mwG. =)

    Keep on commenting/rating. =)

  • Jerry do you play checkers??I challenge you to a game of checkers!

  • @lazimofo90 I know how to play but don't really play. Chess is more my thing as you might have guessed. Checkers requires too much calculation.

  • Thanks for the video's, they're very good.

  • @Wintersduel You're welcome. Thanks for the comment winter. =)

  • Comment removed

  • your time is running

  • @tezukahervin Yes it was..

  • I would love to see you and KC doing a double commentary match :)

  • @Destroyer666AU Organize it! =)

  • Hello, Jerry!

I've just finished watching all your videos and wanted to thank you again for the great work!

I'm eager to watch your next video!

I wish you a Merry Christmas and a nice holiday!

  • @alexandreduf Thanks alex...thanks for being a fan.

Merry xmas to you as well. =)

  • love your video's jerry. Your voice makes me want to Meditate. So calming.....that being said a march for the isolated pawns on the h file would have been much quicker win for you after securing your 7th ranked base pawn

  • @nicolette1971 Yeah, you're right...that would be one of the many winning variations at that point.

Thanks for the comment nic! =)

  • Jerry you are a chess machine

  • @Huddiethegreat Not quite....but thanks. =)

  • Once again, your practical and sound play wins convincingly. I love how straightforward your videos are; every move has a clear justification and it all makes sense. Great game, I'll be watching out for #5.

  • @mraxeguy Glad to know you're tuned in to each game. I continue to read each comment of course. =)

    Thanks for the comp.

  • Oh and why pawn g6? 'cause I freak out everytime my king is barricaded and my opponent has at least one knight :)

  • @UTCyborg Well...g6 is understandable...flight square! =)

  • You tend to get "pretty low" on time every single game man :).

One thing I didn't get is why did a guy that's ranked so high just give up 2 pawns like that? The 1st beeing a blunder? I somehow would feel much safer by just doing something like pawn g6 or try to develop my right rook since it didn't do much the whole game. The 2nd pawn has no excuse, at least I don't see any interesting moves to follow that, guess that even really good players make dumb mistakes :)

    Good game as always :).

  • @UTCyborg Yeah...I guess so. Sometimes it's hard to pinpoint a reason for one's mistakes. Blitz games can make one look foolish.

Thanks for continuing to comment UTC. =)

  • wow, that one was my favorite so far. great game and well played!

  • @freeagentfreek Thanks freeagent. I can count on you for a comment all the time it seems. =)

  • great game. you deserve a higher rating. not that ratings matter.

  • @EcstaCiiCCChaK Thanks EcstaC...they are good to have...nice gauge to see if one is improving.

  • more more chess!! nice game

  • @ChiefMaestroIV Thanks Chief! =)

  • no offence but he was playing pretty pathetic to be rated 2300 +

  • @medra1980 None taken. =)

  • you my friend is amazing! great experience and tactics

  • Thanks...I appreciate your continued comments rayray =)

  • Nice game! The endgame was pretty academic after the blunders though; the more courteous among us would have resigned!

  • Might you go 3/3?! for the favorite comment?

Thanks for taking the time to comment the video...as usual. =)

  • I don't know... It's only fair to leave feedback for someone's video after they spent time making them...

Anyway, seems like I've thrown my hat into the ring once more!

  • @comface I see...well thanks. =)

  • Nice game Jerry. He must be at a peak rating.

  • Thanks TheChessvids.

  • Great! But I wonder what made him come up with such blunders!

The end-games of you, high-rated folks, are just stunning! I can't see half of the situation while you already make a pre-move! :D

  • I don't know. What's odd is that he dropped his first pawn after I was commenting on how high a rating he had. =)
