  • Tuckers daughter is a maori girl from taranaki named leanne mataku lol

  • Tucker's daughter's a honey, not sure about a memory.

  • on ya mozzer!

  • Love it , was working in the cotton fields of Narribri when this song came out.Hot work , cold beers in the pool at the campsite , good times. Onya Mossy !

  • man thatz girl iz hot

  • old aussie music is the best, not today's crap

  • Hit #1 on the Australian pop chart for 1 week in March 1989

  • Sorry about this, I have a question which is totally unrelated to this music clip, but I think you would know. The video clip for Young Years (Dragon)! Do you know where it was filmed, I thought it was initially at the back of Nowra (NSW South Coast), but I have heard it could be somewhere in New Zealand? If you know it would be greatly appreciated if you could solve the mystery. thanks nzoz keep up the good work.

  • @rminister1971 dragon actually used to live around berry and nowra

  • Jimmy Barnes dreams about being as good a singer as Ian Moss; and he is the most UNDER-RATED guitarist in history! Incredible tone, incredible phrasing. Wow. What a musician.

  • I've loved this song since I was a little kid, but for some unknown reason, in the last year or so, I get really excited when I hear it.

  • chorus is so freakin catchy

  • this would've been a cold chiesel song if they didnt break up

  • @schpoogie no no no, it wouldn't have...

  • Obviously 5 ppl didn't want to fuck Tucker's daughter...

  • @TheBoez they must've wanted Tuckers goat instead

  • This is such a great song. I wish Mossy had the success Barnesy did.

  • it took me 2 years to finally find this song, i searched every part of the lyrics until i stumbled across it during a trivia night!!

    great aussie track

  • I'd tap Tucker's daughter.

  • nice gyraffe neck

  • 111cutty999, did the Aussies used to win at cricket?

fair dinkum that must have been ages ago

  • Mossy's best song!Doesn't the beautiful woman in the clip make you believe in love and that's coming from a cynical middle-aged man.

  • Sorry 111cutty999 you were a few years too late. Born & Bred at the Stuart Arms on a Sunday in 1985. Mossy lead and lil' bro on drums. What a TIME.

  • I won a talent show in year 8 for air guitaring to this song.

    Best. Day. Ever.

  • who's the girl in this clip? She looks familiar. Awesome song, they just dont make em like this anymore!

  • Great Aussie music. What a voice and songwriter.

  • I remember this song back in '91,I went up to Narrabri to go make a quick buck,mi bro Marcos, just hab to nail the Cockeys daughter.........needless to say,we were chased outta town with a shot gun, whilst Marcos was up to his nuts in guts....LOLZ

  • @Lancedoonside bullshit

  • @brilliantos and MrWhingeypants - have you looked in the mirror "MILMs"?? Mossy himself has seen far better days. Even if she is a "MILF" she is probably stil beautiful on the outside and the inside. The wisdom and contribution to society of "middle aged" women both culturally and in the workplace is so undervalued ...

  • @edaj84 actually it was Oil of Olay before it was Oil of Ulan, they changed it back to the original name (My mum used to use it)

  • Mean Mossy Mean...

  • Great.. great song.. many a man can relate I'm sure...

  • this guy used to be my next door neighbor when i was young.... just discovery his music now!

  • 4 ppl dislike this hot daughter

  • This is wonderful, wonderful music. i wishe they were still playingnow1

  • I would eat that chicks pussy

  • @iamkingofthecastle You're obviously not an Aussie talking sh*t like that

  • I've been singing this song badly for years! That brilliant chorus was etched into my head but did I ever get the lyrics wrong...

  • Mossy Rox

  • Remember this song, while playing 8 ball and drinking cold beer, watching 1 day cricket on TV and listerning to the juke box at the Sports Bar in the Memo club in Alice Springs in the early 90's what a time

  • @111cutty999 have a good weekend

  • @111cutty999 deano, merv, boonie and AB. classic times!

  • love you

  • true gelntleman

  • Great Song!!!

  • Ugh...brings back a lot of bad memories being forced to listen to bogan radio like MMM when I worked in a warehouse. Any time I tried to put on RRR, PBS or JJJ, someone would say "What's this weird shit"?

  • Brit here who only knows this music from Neighbours in the early 90's! but pretty glad that I do, still sounds good now.

  • the backround singers are pretty mad i wish i lived in the 80s!

  • Solid, classic, true late '80s Aussie rock.

  • Build me up just to tear me down throw those meatballs on the ground!!

p.s proud to be an aussie listning to this

  • Who is the actress playing Tuckers Daughter - She was and probably still is awesome!

  • is that jimmy barnes

  • @67675656565655656565 ian moss ?

  • Ian Moss is so bad arse.

  • I drove around Australia listening to this song

  • That golden harvest needs to reaped.

  • im a black metal head but i cant help it this is such a good catchy song :)

  • Hope you can spare a minute to check out Aussie Brett O'Malleys new single Amazing Life ....groovy little tune!!

  • you can feel the tempess of that song of a hot summer passion.

  • thanks for this posting brings back memories of long ago now

  • Ok folks who is the girl in the front seat of the car???

  • epic oldie!

  • One of those songs that transports me back to my childhood in the 80's every time I hear it.

  • my uncle took me to see ian moss live in Wollongong for my 18th birthday. It was so awesome.......ian moss is way better live. Check out "love will carry us along"....probably his best song, reminds me of my grandpa who recently passed away

  • Very talented guy and good sonng but ... Tuckers Daugther??? Was that the best you could think of?? Crap lyrics! Mustve been struggling for a new song.

  • Wow ! .... long time, no hear. Ian Moss always rocks !

  • What a honey

  • Tuckers Daughters mammaries :)

  • this song is about tuckerbag

  • Shit this is a great song. You forget just how good this track was/still is. Pity they don't make music like this anymore.

  • @GrazingGoat66 too right there mate, these days they try to do too much, it is all about the video and not the music. this isn't fancy but it is brilliant, he has an amazing voice, great guitar work and a fantastic song writer.

  • Ahh mossy is a great bloke ..... not a bad muscian either :P

  • too bad shes got no tits ha ha

  • too abd shes got no tits ha ha

  • i don`t see how this is autralian music? south african maybe

  • @malice1488 - Well, let's see: An Australian musician and co-written with another well known Australian musician and filmed in Australia. South African? Just because there are 3 black backing singers doesn't make it South African. Perhaps I should post my picture of Ian Moss and me back stage after a show on the Gold Coast to prove he is Australian.. LONG LIVE MOSSY!!!

  • I always presumed that this song had something to do with Francis Ford Coppola's movie Tucker. Anyone know if it actually does?

  • @siasti - The movie Tucker was about a guy named Tucker who made cars in the late 1940s in the USA. I have a friend called Tucker; would you think the song is about him??

  • @zacandmillie The movie came out in 1988 and this song came out in 1989. Just coincidence??

  • thats all niggers are good for SLAVES

  • @malice1488 - racist jerk!

  • i had a sub teacher that looked lik one of the bak up singers

i so wish iwas and 80s kid

  • None of the backing vocalists is Mark Williams

  • @squeegie2008 _ I agree, I know of Mark Williams, I first saw him singing in NZ way back in the early 70s but he isn't one of these backing singers even though he did a lot of backing singing in Australia.

  • Ian Moss and the Cold Chisel crew rocks .. it's a shame it's so hard to come by Jimmy Barnes stuff here in Europe .. and whatever happened to Ian Moss .. ? Did he release anything after this album?

  • Ian Moss and the Cold Chisel crew rocks .. it's a shame it's so hard to come by Jimmy Barnes stuff here in Europe .. and whatever happened to Ian Moss .. ? Did he release anything after this album?

  • @joahom

a couple of others... the best one was called Petrolhead. Its on itunes. Harder rocking, more like classic Chisel in style. 'Poor Boy' 'All Alone on a Rock' and the title track are very good (and I've seen them all on youtube)

  • @joahom

  • Was he inspired by Roy Orbison? I'm hearing similar between this and working for the man

  • @suprsonickath roy orbison was his great uncle

  • One hit wonder from the eighties? What, Mossie - Tucker's Daughter, Telephone Booth, Into The Light - that's at least 3.

  • Fantastic late 80's auz rock.. best as.

  • hahaha years ago i was watchin this clip on rage at like 3am with 2 friends, and my male mate randomly says 'man... id root tuckers daughter' hahaha so everythime i see this i think of my friend haha

  • Does anyone know the woman who played tucker's daughter?

  • ian moss is the mang try his unplugged album

  • "She aint his and she'll never be mine"- just realised why old man Tucker is white and the woman in this clip is clearly half-Aboriginal. Clever...

  • @Bennyboy1985 I thought that lyric was speaking metaphorically -- she's "wicked and wild" and Mr Tucker doesn't have any control over her & what she does, so "she ain't his". But because the singer doesn't want to cross Tucker, she'll "never be mine [the singer's]" either.

I guess Mrs Tucker is Aboriginal then.

  • One of my favourite songs. Ian is a bloody legend - Awesome guitarist, made me want to learn guitar - which helped me nail a few Tuckers daughters.

  • what happened he never made it is big as band mate Jimmy Barnes. he has such a fantastic voice and plays the guitar really well. his songs are really great.

or did he just stick to his guns and keep his fame solely to Australia because i don't hear alot of him

  • Who cares who the girl is. Ian is a star!

  • Love this song man. Classic aussie rock.

  • You Post the best vids my friend.

  • trucker's daughter in the clip is hot!! lol

  • Hi Guys,

Ian co-wrote "Tucker's Daughter" with former Cold Chisel bandmember Don Walker.

"Tucker's Daughter" tells of a labourer who finds himself the attention of his bosses daughter, but instead of returning her affections, he decides to "not live under Tucker's thumb" and remain his own man.

Sorry i cant tell you name of girl in Video except to say that she is of Aboriginal / European descent & this video was her debut introduction into the media spotlight.

  • @bumbleandprincess labourer must have been a gaylord

  • Hahaha! Saturday Morning Live hosted by that twit with the psuedo mullet. I must of been seven or eight when this came out and its stuck in my brain like everything you hear when you're a kid.

That dirty old Tucker! Stop slapping his knee bones to the ground!

This also reminds me of being a child and hot Summers, way to be in my head mischafreriechs.

  • saw him last nite at clipsal

just concluded he has the lamest subject content of any singer

    who the fuk is tucker?

now, give me thumbs up big-boy!

  • Saw him last Sunday at Pace Road Tavern and he was bloody awesome! Tucker was the Boss Man....listen to the song.

  • whats funny is she is dancing in wheat not cotton XD

  • anyone know who the blokes were in the clip

  • Classic song, reminds me of a child and hot summers! love it:-)

  • That girl is gorgeous

  • @MrWhingeypants yeah, of course.wonder who is she?

  • @MrWhingeypants she clearly thinks she is to :)

  • @MrWhingeypants It's Tuckers Daughter

  • @MrWhingeypants Yeah, i wonder who she is!

  • @MrWhingeypants stunning woman, too bad she'd be 53 years old now

  • @MrWhingeypants Mate she'd be a MILF by now...old and wrinkles though, sadly good looks don't last forever unless she's still surviving from Mossy's paycheck with countless amounts of Botox and OIl Of Ulan/Olay :( !!!

  • @brilliantos omg someone else remembers before it was oil of olay :)

  • just luv it. mossy is great. agreed. his lead phrases are so nice..

  • great guitar solo

  • In the early 80s

    Ian moss did dance classes

    at BODENWEISSER.

  • The chick part indiginous Australian.

  • He is a good ol Alice guy, just like me!!

  • @andyleawe r u coon?

  • @iwsab

Not everybody from Alice is Aboriginal, which is the real word, Coon is seen as racism btw

  • i was just joking. oh, didin't know coon was racist. thought it was just hell funny

  • but the real word should be native Australian, which accurately describes what they are. Aboriginal is a just a name given to them by settlers from England

  • Can't wait to hear Mossy play Tucker's Daughter in Canberra on January 25!

  • Ian... He's the total package. I adore this song, great film clip too... this is one of my all time favourite songs though.

  • this is a sick song, good film clip as well

  • it is my mum!

  • if that's your mum is she aboriginal? she's beautiful

  • aussie classic this song

  • haha thats my mum in this video...

  • Josie my name is Tracy...I used to live with your mum and dad then. Trying to contact her...could you please let her know and she can contact me through my channel..

  • your mums HOT

  • yeah sure, and shes my girlfriend..

  • @jmatuku1 ian moss is your mum?

  • That is Mark Williams as one of the backing vocalists, if anybody is interested. Thank you ever so for posting this NZOZ1989.

  • No worries Mark; good to hear from you.

Hope to catch ya with Dragon sometime! Cheers!

  • @LoverswithCassie That is NOT Mark Williams!

  • I remember seeing Mossy back in Newcastle when this song first came out. A few months before the album ("Matchbook"). What a band!! Mossy, Ross Hannaford (Daddy Cool), John Watson (Aussie Crawl) Bruce Haynes on keys and some big chick called Rene on bass. She had the fastest fingers on the planet next to Moss. I remember he opened with "When You Dance" by Catfish.. Anyone know where I can get Carfish's first album on CD? I've got the Moss collection...

  • Love the chorus on this song :-)

  • Seein' Mossie tonight! Second time in twelve months.

And for honeyhunter, at least guitars *are* instruments, not merely audio playback devices.

  • Buy a guitar practice for a month then post a video up here so we can all hear your genius. Shut the fuck up.

  • honeyhunter. you're an ignorant wanker. think before you speak. and back up your claim. i personally wouldn't say whoever the guitarist for Motley Crue has anywhere mastered the guitar. neither has ian moss. although i'd rate mossy above motley's. if you look at joe satriani or paul gilbert you might be getting close to somebody mastering it.

in conclusion. you should probably back up what you say,

    have a nice day. dickhead.

  • this song is truely a work of art.

as u can tell by mi youtube name i love metal. but nothin beats good old fashion aussie music from the 80s. this is real music youi can llstin to it all day and all night and never get sick of it. sahme i wasnt born in the 80s cuz i love evrythin about it

  • Graet vocals , great guitar work , juat a great song ...thanks for posting

  • ignorance is bliss honeyhunter ,so is Mossy's music.

Why don't you go listen to some Lady GaGa or something more your era....

  • My God Girl that just was the best ever display of ignorance in your post. You are talking about something a lot older then yourself. By the way a DJ disk board is not an instrument, they are turntables or the like that are playing tracks already recorded and mixing them up.

  • being the best at guitar is like being the best at being retarded.

    hahahahahahahaha O M F G hahahahaha

u have perfected the ART of Asshatnessness, Well done hahahah O M F G hahaha

Oh Crap Im Gonna Pee My Pants hahahahahaha

  • Honeyhunter you are truly a dickhead wanker. Your 12 year old brother has most probably learned 3 chords and he can make them sound good through an amplifier. That is not guitar playing. True mastery is when you play for 60 years like Andres Segovia and still realize you can get better. All you ned to play that so called instrunment a dj Disc Board is a head full of cocaine, 2 turntables to spin and say "Suck on this pretty mama " while you play that shit disco rap crap of today.I.

  • Who is the actor who played "Tucker's Daughter" or was she just a once off casted model for the film clip?

  • @GodBotherer1 I reckon she looks a little like a young Tasma Walton, but I reckon even Tasma's too young.. This was around twenty years ago.. scary..

  • Comment removed

  • Bickering about "best guitarists" is idiotic. Ian Moss was & is a great craftsman, who enriched us with his own distinctive guitar "voice" - much like Simon Binks of australian Crawl. They both created a particular sound that was unique to the culture and time of their playing. Who cares about ranking?

If Ian Moss wasn't so admired, even by his haters, you wouldn't have seen so many instances in Jimmy Barnes' solo career where a mossy-sound clone was hired for the guitar work.

    Viva Mossy.

  • the mighty ian moss

    aussie music at its finest

ohhhhhhh to be as talented !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great song and nice video. Thanks for the upload.

  • Ahahahaha Tucker's daughter is actually quite cute!!!!!!!! Onya Mossy!!!!!
