@toddsyddni I agree that KC doesn't really count as my version of "real" Kansas either. I grew up in a tiny town out in western KS (AKA, "the edge of the civiliazation"). Then, later I lived in southeast Kansas, and now live in KCK. I do think that it's sad that you don't see much beautiful about small town Kansas, though. In my humble opinion, they can keep the Rocky Mountains or the Grand Canyon. I'd take the fields and sunsets of western Kansas any day. For me, that is what beauty is.
