Such a cute little fellow. Reminds me of my white, 2 lb Chihuahua. One day we were near a stream and she was playing with my larger Italian greyhound. When the greyhound jumped across a small, slow running stream, the Chi followed but didn't make it. Up until then she had always been afraid of the water, but once she was in she started swimming around and for about 5 minutes, whenever I reached to take her out, she swam away from me, enjoying her swim.

One day, my frenchie ran around a big swimming pool, suddenly dropped into the children's swimming pool and disppeared. I freaked out as it was night and I could not see anything in the pool. fortunitely, after a few seconds,his head showed up. again.

My aunt has a Basset hound and it jumped into the pool one day and sunk straight to the bottom.

Please note Frenchies are NOT the best swimmers. As he grows and his chest and head get bigger, swimming will be almost impossible. Many Frenchies die every year from drowning,
