  • Could I ask how many times the British and the Spaniards fired from one gun per hour?

  • @hajnisj At most they got off 2 shots per minute...But more like 1 shot. So most likely the guns fired, at best, 60 shots per hour

  • @LaserBeam002 Thanks I was confused, because in Czech dub he said, that one boat fired from all cannons just once per 1/2 hour :D

  • Lol im Dutch, we where the rebels :p

  • @dekippiesip protestant rebels though, not quite the same.

  • i cant find an episode about trafalar, isnt that wierd, that was like the most merable battle ever? WHATS UP WITH THAT!

  • @chelseayay1 /watch?v=dR-1gqC5Xms&feature=related

  • @chelseayay1 I guess that the battles that this show explains, are more related to Brittish territory. Trafalgar was to far away from Britain!

  • I want to see a "Battlefield Britain Ep." about the "English Armada" and its defeat against Blas de Lezo at Cartagena de Indias.

Thats an episode that english people dont know or dont like to remember too much.

Ive respect for just 2 english Warchiefs; Nelson and Wellington. Admit it, Drake was just a pirate. Sea scum. Nelson was a real Admiral and a good tactician.

  • @FairFerret Battlefield Britain is about battles in/around Britain. That battle is in the Americas. Therefore it would not fit in the series.

  • @knoxy90 battlefield britaiin is about british battles not wher the battles took place plus the aramada was in the neatherland seas

  • @sam123937 Have you seen the entire series; there are 6 about battles in the British isles one about a sea invasion and one about a bombing campaign. The Spanish armada's route circled Britain, there were several skirmish's in the English channel, and the majority of the armada's losses where off the north west coast of Ireland. Furthermore the title also agrees with me, battlefield is a term meaning a place where a battle is fought. We can reference this with other word in the title Britain.

  • England did not beat Spain ,Spain beat itself with it's poor strategy of waiting for word and not attacking when the English ships were at bay

  • Flame ships are so effective and should of been used in every naval battle.

  • Good old Drake... You've gotta love him lol

  • PEACE SHELFORD!

  • @Grimrippa1, like you "got" the tiny norman army of just 7000 in 1066? :D This would be an army of more than 50,000 professional and experienced soldiers against a ridiculous militia of no more than 20,000.

  • Oh wow this video is the awsomeest for the time beigb bg

  • rule britannia britannia rules the waves lol and always will

  • @lovleycarl Nah, with all those defense budget cuts...

  • @lovleycarl biass is an english word, isn't it?

  • @butobuto1 actually the word is bias and no it is not english it is from the latin bifacem or two faces ,, meaning two veiws , ,,,, ironic it is latin ,,,, you know like latino spanish ,,,

  • @lesterclaypool1 uhhhm i didn't know the ethymology of the word, but i know what latin is, actually i studied it for three years in high school and if your're right it would be bifaceS and why is it ironic? at least 60% of the english vocabulary has latin roots (via the old french of the normands who took over england in the 11th century) and excuse me for the spelling error, english is my third language

  • @butobuto1 its ironic because it was the spanish armada ,,, get it ? latinos being the spanards ... hence from the spanish language

  • @lesterclaypool1 hahah no

  • Francis Drake behaved like a bastard. While what was then the world's biggest naval armada is sailing towards his country, he's off hunting for treausure, and letting his fleet become disorganized. Basically, he's playing around and trying to get rich while the survival of his nation, which has placed its trust in him, hangs in the balance.

  • english aaaaaare animals and criminals to spain

  • Actually the animosity between the two nations begun when after Drake and his cousin were in the caribbean selling slaves, the spanish acted like animals. It was hurricane season and Drake and Hawkins were forced into a spanish port after being promised sanctuary. However the treacherous spanish betrayed that agreement, leaving Hawkins and Drake lucky to escape.

  • Two ships were taken and the men strung up and executed, one of which was Hawkins nephew who was only a boy. This led to Drakes hatred of the spanish and subsequent raids and authorised pirating.

  • I live in dorchester, witch is only about 20 minutes from portland, and yet i knew nothing about this

  • How on earth were ships able to communicate with each other, give/recieve orders, let alone know what was going on in Flanders?

  • They used flags for signals.

  • @james331933 No they never, I was there.

  • @dimgwalltameiben Semaphore flags

  • hey british patriot do you have episode 8 of this series

  • I've seen it under "battle of Britain". I can find it if you are still looking.
