  • this cat need only yours love and care, forever your friend(=

  • @babyblue003 I didn't say her life is worthless. When did i say this? Because I feel compassion and sadness for these cats at whom people laugh and deem "cute" because they fall over and cry out in frustration I am a maniac who doesn't value life at all? I'm not asking you to kill your cat who is alive and in a loving home, I'm saying understand that it's sad, and that it isnt "cute" or funny. It's a struggle for a creature that can't understand why, and maybe shouldnt have had to deal with it.

  • @psychochemicalnova It is pretty funny, actually.

My cat with CH doesn't cry out in frustration, and she's never in pain. Once you realize that they're perfectly happy and have adapted properly to their lifestyle, it should make you HAPPY that they're completely healthy and can live with the disorder. That's like saying it's sad to see some person in a wheelchair successfully go up a ramp without a problem.

  • @psychochemicalnova Yes, you are indeed advocating that CH cats be murdered simply because they were born with a disability. "Maybe shouldnt have had to deal with it" ring a bell? You may have pity on the cats and would prefer to murder them....so I suggest you go find one of those handicapped body builders or war veterans and tell them the same about their handicap. See what happens.

  • @psychochemicalnova One thing I learned living with these cats is that what you lack in life shouldn't determine what your life is worth. Sure these guys can't walk 3 inches, but there's so much more they CAN do. They enjoy eating, playing with each other, spending time with my husband and I, traveling with us on vacations, and overall enjoying life despite their physical limitations. Should I put them down just because they can't do this one thing despite everything else they can do?

  • @psychochemicalnova on another note, you wouldn't kill a human who couldn't walk well, or who was disabled in any way, so why are cats any different? If humans can find a way to enjoy life with its difficulties, so can animals.

  • See, now I really, really want a cat with CH, because they're SO FUCKING CUTE!

  • I have a CH kitty as well. Crawford is super affectionate. He purrs a lot as well, but definitely a reaction from being loved so much...not a reaction to being in pain. He's a happy guy!

  • Hi,

I have a rabbit who exhibits the exact same signs as your kitty. I'm trying to support him all I can while trying to get a diagnosis, but my vet says a diagnosis for something like this is not really possible. I'm glad Roxy seems to have adjusted to her situation.

  • incredible little cat dose the cat ever get hurt when it falls over so hard i hope not so sad to see the cat go though this thumbs up to being a happy strong willed cat much love and blessings

  • These little fellows are just so strong, determined and do not know they have problems. I did not know that CH is caused by feline distemper virus which attacks the nerves of the developing kittnes and damages the part of the brain that controls balance and coordination--I recently read an article that explained the cause. This little Roxy is so adorable and I'll bet she is quite spoiled. I have a rescue from BARCS,Baltimore-- they are quite a wonderful facility and run by very loving people.

  • God bless this cat - hope she's still living and doing well

  • I wonder if the kitty feels dizzy at all? She is precious!

  • thank you for educating people about CH. i have one with CH. i do cat rescue and adoption, and i had to keep her because people were weirded out by her condition. she is the best cat anyone could ever ask for.

  • i just saw another vid and it showed it as a kitten and an adult it looks like he gets use to it and walks and runs pretty good

  • i only started hearing about cats with CH a year ago, i suppose before that most of them were put to sleep. it's good that we now have owners that are willing to take on special needs cats (not just cats with CH).you wouldnt put a human to sleep just because they have special needs, same should go for an animal, as long as the animal was not in pain, and treated well and proper.

  • Question: i've noticed cats and kittens with CH seem to purr a lot, why is this???does it make them comfortable? i know cats will purr if happy, or even if in pain, or discomfort to make themselves calm, i know CH cats are not in pain, but maybe the constant purring puts them at ease?? do u have an answer about this??

  • @ducrozet74 That's a very interesting thought indeed. I don't have an answer to that but it got me thinking. I think my 3 girls are pretty spread out in the spectrum, from constantly purring to only semi affectionate, but what you're suggesting might have some merit. I think I'll ask the question to other CH owners and see what their thoughts are.

  • @Babyblue033 well ask around, and let me know, i have seen many videos of cats with CH where the owners have mentioned constant purring, more than in "normal" cats, that really only purr when you pet them. I think i might be on to something here lol my friend also asked if cats with CH are ever dizzy, i figured they must be so used to the movements they can't be.

  • @ducrozet74 idk it's a guess but I heard that a cat's purr actually vibrates at a low frequency that is supposed to stimulate healing (which makes sense as to why cats will purr when in pain) so maybe it's just their instinct of trying to heal that makes them purr constantly? idk just a guess :)

  • i posted this on my blog and FB and educated people about cats with CH, many people got upset, and i had to keep telling them, that they are not in pain, that they are born this way and dont know any other world, how strong they are etc etc just wanted to educate people, i myself have always had cats, but none with CH, i do have 2 cats with feline herpes now (mango 4 was disease free) my second cat Meep was born with herpes and infected mango. anyway its wonderful how u take care of these girls

  • @ducrozet74 Thank you for sharing the video and educating the public. I know it can be difficult to understand for the general public, but I wish people can meet my girls in person and see just how wonderful they are. But hopefully with more people like you CH cats will become more accepted.

  • aww omg :( wa sup with you cat, ?? will it allways be unbalanced ? will he/she get better?? :( responded babyblue033

  • @lmfaoatthat The cat has CH, It affects their legs and no she will never get fully better but she will get stronger :3

  • @EmmaAnime96 thanks alot :( so she allways guna ne like this in the video?

  • @lmfaoatthat Yes, But she is happy and in no pain :D (Though I don't know how she couldn't be with all the flopping xD)

  • @EmmaAnime96 haha :( well im a 19 year old lad but ive got a soft spot for animals, and more for animals that look in pain :(

  • @lmfaoatthat I'm 15 :P And Yeah so am I, We rescued my dog because some idiots left him in the upstairs apartment for 5 days with no food or water D:< 10 years later, He's still with us X3, And I'm feeding a very sweet stray cat he's all black and as soon as you go out the door he's on your legs rubbing all over you xD

  • @EmmaAnime96 awww please keep feeding the stray cat !! and am so glad your dog is with you, and now with the previous owner, can i ask what type of dog is he?? x

  • @lmfaoatthat He's got the body of a corgi, He's red with long fur and a curly tail, So we're assuming Corgi/Chowchow mix, He's my buddy :3 And I will until we find him a home

  • @EmmaAnime96 aww seems cute doggie :D and thanks :D woop !

  • @lmfaoatthat He is a cute doggy, Doesn't like kids much though :P He'll snap if they get too hyper (Although..I get hyper..and he's fine...XD)

  • what a sweetie :)

  • That cat is adorable. It's an amazing thing for you to take on an animal like that because most people would not. Kudos to you and you're an incredible person.

  • What a cute baby!

  • Hey we rescued a very skinny pregnant cat off the streets in March and 3 of her kittens ended up having CH. We found a home with a doctor and an animal lover for one and a cat lover and her veteranarian mom for the other but we decided to keep the third CH kitten. We have reserched it and know how to take care of it but there was one thing I couldn't find. How does it use the litter if it can't walk? That is the only thing we are worried about. PLEASE let me know! Thanks!

  • @cbrcrx Litterbox is the most tricky thing with CH cats and it depends greatly just how mobile the cat is and what kind of accommodation you're able to provide. Out of my 3 CH girls, 1 uses the litterbox perfectly fine on her own, 1 needs to be helped on schedule, and 1 wears a diaper. For the kittens it's important to make sure the litterbox is as assessable for the kitten as possible, such as low entrance point and/or sides for them to lean against.

  • @Babyblue033 What worked for us was actually to use a small pet carrier with the door taken out as the litterbox. Some modify regular litterbox by cutting out the entrance. You'll have to experiment a bit to see what works the best for your kitten. But considering that even my worst CH kitten who couldn't walk at all used to drag herself in and out of the box all on her own, determined CH kitten will can pretty much get anything done :) Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

  • @cbrcrx Hi, we adopted a CH kitten and we noticed she had a hard time in her box. When she got a little older she had went to the bathroom right in front of her littler box, so we decided to put down a poty pad used for small dogs right in front of her box and she uses that now everytime. Of course she can get it half on half off sometimes because she stubbles but bless her heart she trys.

  • I feel so sorry for these kinds of cats. It just breaks my heart. :(

  • @DarkShadowMegadeth

    youre an idiot

  • cute

  • I tried so hard to watch the somersault but she was so discombobulated I couldn't keep up hahaha. Sweet kitty. <3

  • @d0pesick Same lol! So sad, so cute <3

  • Oh, I love your sweet Roxy. I adopted a Cerebellar Ataxia cat a few years ago. I was his last chance before being euthanized. Elliott is the happiest cat you will ever meet; literally "eternal sunshine of the spotless mind". My vet says most people put these kittens to sleep without understanding how wonderful they can be. Sure they take more patience but they are absolutely worth it. Elliott is my greatest joy. No doubt Roxy is yours. :)

  • oh my goodness she is so cute! It can be very hard to see your kitten struggle with CH but it's all worth it to keep him or her happy, safe, and loved. I don't mean to sound condescending, but I would like to say that I am really very proud of you for adopting a kitten with a disability. Many people would not. You have a big heart.

  • i had some kitties with limitations and they were my favourites, one of them was a bit retarded but i still loved him

  • This is cruel.

  • Poor baby i feel so sorry for her but i know she will get really good at walking becuase of the last video i just watched was about a cat named charley and he has the same thing but he can walk and run around yet he is still a bit wobbly

She is a really cute cat.

  • That is just so precious! Difficult to get any sweeter than that.

  • Roxy is so awesome!

  • Awwww, poor little baby! I hope she's not in any pain!

  • god bless you!!

  • Do I hear Korean?

  • awwwwwh!

  • The floor must be too slippery

  • this cat be trippin'

  • Lol, I love how you push the other cat out of the way.

  • Should probably install carpets in every room xD

  • OMG she is so cute! I love her colors! :)

I don't mean this to be rude or insensitive, but wouldn't carpeted floors be at least a little easier for Roxy to try to walk on?

  • @iamtheomega They don't need drugs to "fix" them, all they need is for someone to be compassionate, understand their limitations, accept them for the wonderful animals they are, and make necessary adjustments in their lives to accommodate them.

  • @iamtheomega

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the kitten, so why would you put it down? All Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH) does is make it a bit harder for them to control their leg muscles, and it makes their motor skills not so hot; they aren't in pain and they have a normal life span. There's no need for any drug compensation, and putting the cat down because of a benign birth defect is just plain cruel.

  • @iamtheomega FUCK YOU. if your mom had trouble walking would you kill her?

  • @canadiangirl3343 False Analogy. Cats are not humans. We also have the problem compounded by the fact that we can't ever know what the cat thinks or feels. The video shows a pretty extreme example of feline CH and I would say that there's a good case to be made that having a pet so disabled is more for the benefit of the owner than the animal. Borderline cruelty.

  • she is definitly a ch kitten i actually own one!!

  • WHY would you make her walk on the slippery wooden floor?! Setting her up to fail ( and fall) fo rthe sake of your video is just cruel.

  • lol it looksdrunk

  • lol it looks drunk

  • my cat just had babies, and one of them has problems balancing and moves her head as if shes dizzy, and i fear we might have to put her to sleep to keep her from suffering but first i have to know what is wrong or what it is. can someone please help?

  • @MRauTObt I'll message you privately, but please do not put her down before you learn more! If she's a CH baby, then she can live a perfectly happy life given the right care. At the very least you can find out what is causing her problems and whether she is truly suffering before making the decision. I'll message you with more info about my girls so hopefully you can find out whether your baby has the same condition or not.

  • @Babyblue033 yeah, it'll be really hard for me to put the poor thing down. thank you

  • @MRauTObt she prob has ch she should be fine she may be covered in bruises from falling but other tjhan that your kitty should have a happy healthy life

  • @MRauTObt

Maybe, JUST, maybe.....go to the vet?

It's not hard to do and you will find out EXACTLY what is wrong rather than finding symptoms and thinking you know what it is.

If you're happy with your cat having babies you should be happy seeking a professional for this kind of thing.

And putting animals down is not always the answer.

  • @MRauTObt

We found our cat that was abandoned by it's mother when he was just a few days old. That was in 1997. He had all the symptoms of "cerebellar hypoplasia" although we didn't know it at the time. We nursed him with a syringe and tube for days until starting him on solid foods. He was the MOST loving cat you can ever want. He learned to use the litter box from day one, but would often fall over in the box and needed to be bathed often in his early days.

  • @MRauTObt

He was able to climb our carpeted stairs with ease and would also climb on to our bed. You were able to HEAR this cat walking on the carpeted floors, thats how hard his steps were!! I enjoyed EVERY MINUTE of this cat and I'm going to look for another one. If you've had a cat with cerebellar hypoplasia you know what I mean. Our cat "Luckey" died of a heart attack on April 24, 2011. He lived 13 wonderful years.

  • @stahlmaster i'm so sorry for your loss, i've had my oldest cat last year and my oldest dog from age and bone cancer a few weeks ago

  • @stahlmaster If you live anywhere near Seattle, there's a pair of CH kittens that are still looking for a home - check petfinder for Cricket and Mr. Wiggles. I'd take them in myself but I can't keep any cats for the moment =/ My parents are looking after the two I already have.

  • @MRauTObt well, take her to the vet is what i would do.

  • awww cute. i'm definitely going to adopt a CH kitten the first chance i get. i want to be a vet so i think having a CH kitten would really help me :)

  • She's definitely got a fighting spirit.

  • i want a CH kitty they are so cute and lovable!!!!!!!!!! but i already have 3 cats lol hey 1 more will not hurt right lol

  • Not trying to sound rude here, but its kind of like they have a drunken stagger or something, it looks like it, is there anything to cure it? cute cat BTW

  • @raylean01- It is a birth defect where the portion of the brain that is in charge of motor skills just don't develope right. It broke my heart to find out there was nothing I could do for her so now I love her as much as I can, praise her when she accomplishes something the wanted to try and treat her with the respect she deserves. There is no cure, but these kitties live normal (for them), happy lives and has the same life span as any other kitty. Mine is 8 years old now.

  • Jello is the perfect name for this cat.

  • Clumsy kitty = adorable

  • Is she really dizzy all the time? That would be horrible... it says CH cats have vertigo :/

  • you should get lots of rugs or carpet! my kitty, handi-cat, is 6 and she has the same condition. carpet really helps her b/c she can cling to it with her front claws and it keeps her from falling down as much/as hard. i know that it's just what they do, and they're totally happy, sweet creatures, but i'm sure falling down all the time gets sore and frustrating... so :) xox

  • she s beautiful. I love cats too! thanks for sharing your cuties. :) check out my videos if you wish. take care

  • aww lovely kitten he's so lucky to have u

  • @thuckit50 I ABSOLUTELY am! And proud of it! Would it be more "healthy" if I was some self centered girl who fills her life with superficial things like designer clothes or shoes? We all have different priorities in life, I choose to fill my life with these bundles of joys rather than a closet full of shoes. If that makes me "crazy" or "unhealthy", I honestly can't say I care :)

  • @Babyblue033 touché, crazy cat lady. I'd have to say that you got me on that one.

  • @thuckit50 you're an asshole.

  • @thuckit50 dude fucking read the description u nut case

  • Poor little thing.... :-(...

  • Carpets would be helpful to the poor mite. Well done on taking it on though.

  • i just adopted a CH cat and i am so in love with him! i am having a hard time understanding how he doesnt get hurt with how much he falls and runs into things. has your cat (who is SUPER cute by the way) ever gotten seriously hurt? my cat's condition isnt quite as bad as roxy, but he is still pretty bad. thank you for any help you can give!!

  • @christinad41 They're quite resilient and not as fragile as we fear they are. I have 3 girls with varying degree of CH and while we do have occasional mishaps (my other girl broke her canine teeth. Vet says she's fine though), we have yet to have any serious injuries. The girl who broke her teeth are less severe than Roxy and MUCH more active and curious which is probably the reason for her injury. I wouldn't worry too much :)

  • Love her!!!!

  • wow seems like you took great care of her. her coat looks great and she looks in great shape as well.

  • cute

  • My cat, Flip, has cerebellar hypoplasia such as this kitty. She is almost 17 years old and still going strong. She was brought into my clinic at 5 weeks of age to be euthanized. She goes outside for hours at a time in warm weather - I'm always there because she is defenseless against dogs.

  • Ohhhh ho ho ho, bless her!!! That last fall was a big one! You kinda don't want to laugh but, she's too adorable & looks so determined not to giggle.

I've only just found out about CH & i find it so sad that people put poor cats down because of it.

I second @Chrishalliswolverine, maybe carpeted floors would help her grip? Even my dog goes flying on hardwood flooring.

  • My cat has this. She also has muscular deterieration (or how ever you spell it). I am keen to know if you cat has this to.

  • Roxy doesn't, but my other CH cat Shinju may be a suspect. She has never been able to walk and unlike my other 2 who improved with age, she has actually gotten a little worse and now has difficulty using the litterbox on her own. What were some of the signs of muscular deterioration with your cat?

  • you go roxy! ~

  • they have no muscles and are very thin. they die very young aswell : /

  • My cat Molly died yesterday aged 3. The day before that my guinea pig died, It's not been a good weekend : /

  • God bless you and her.. I hope she is doing well? :) Please let me know.

  • ahh the end is very funny

  • So adorable!!!

  • 1:04 is funny, the cat was like, "down i go" and then bam!

  • Gah, what a cutie. Sometimes I think people want animals with disabilities euthanized because it makes THEM uncomfortable to see it.

  • Perhaps some rugs or carpeting would give her better grip so the learning to walk isn't so bad?

  • Upgrade her gyros.

  • I love your sweet baby Roxy.

My best to both of you.

  • What an adorable cat! :) It's sad that she can't get around well, but she seems happy anyway and has a loving home! :) I might get a cat soon! :)

  • And why is that? Because she can't walk and you have determined it's cruel for her to live from the 1 minute video? In close to 3 years I've had her, she's went from not being able to get up at all to being able to walk across the room before falling over. She uses the litterbox perfectly with my help, eats on her own, have traveled on vacations with us, is the only one who sleeps in our bed, and is the center of our lives. So please enlighten me and let me know what's so unfair about it?

  • Suomivum...

I am looking into adopting a CH cat and NOTHING is wrong with them except their motor skills are a bit off. They are in NO pain! Everyone I have talked to that owns one says they are the most loving cat they ever had. So they should die because of CH???? You are the sick one for not checking our your facts.

  • why dont you do a little more studying before trolling?

  • so if you had epilepsy or an unbalanced equilibrium we would kill you?

  • soooo cute, i wanna go adopt a kitty

  • Awweh How Cute <3

  • does Roxy have trouble getting to the litter box?

  • When she was younger we tried very hard to get her to use the litterbox on her own and she improved over time, I decided that it was easier for both of us if I just bring her to the bathroom on a regular basis. So I simply bring her over to her littlebox morning and night and hold her while she uses it. Once she got used to it, it takes only a minute and no more accidents or dirty kitty!

  • what a darling kitty!!! good for you that even though shes disabled, you still gave her a good home :)

  • i have a cat just liked this named scooter. these are thee best type of cat to have.

  • I wanna hug it. :(

  • 7boooooooooooooooo

    poor cat :(

  • its kinda sad and funny at the same time

    :,)

  • She doesn't seem to know she has a disability but hardwood floors are not comfortable when she's tumbling

  • I personaly dont like cats but I do like all animals and I say good job in takeing care of that cat. I see people put down animals for that. Its just stupid. You dont put down a humam with a disability do you?

  • @PlaysToMuchWarcraft If I had my way, I would. Unfit humans should be ground-up for meat. And fed to healthy animals or children. Raw.

  • aw, seeing kitties like Roxy breaks my heart!

  • My husband agreed with the idea that carpet is what this baby could use!

  • you should get carpet. that kitty needs some traction!

  • Carpet makes no difference in a cat that has Cerebellar Hypoplasia. We have a 2 month old Siamese that was born with it and our house is nothing but carpet except the kitchen.

  • I'm pretty sure what the person was trying to suggest was a little bit more comfort when she falls. It breaks my heart (and I'm sure all of the other comment-er's) when she hits the cround and you hear "thud." I have a feeling that it hurts Roxy.

  • good on you for keeping her, so many people would have had her put down, just cos she wasn't perfect, she is perfect in my eyes and perfect in yours. I wish there were more people like you. Fellow cat lover...meow, thanks for sharing

  • i just learned about this condition and i must say that all the cats with this seem very determined to get where they wanna, even though its hard.

good job though, i respect you for taking on a kitty like this when most might just have her put down! D:

  • Shes super cute, but i feel so sad seeing her like that. Im glad she has someone who takes good care of her :)

  • By the way, Roxy is adorable!!

  • I also have a CH cat. Not as bad as Roxy though. I still feel sorry for him once in awhile-especially when he jumps off the bed and takes such a terrible fall and rolls and rolls til he stops. It makes me sad--BUT that is the only life he knows, so it's probably not as bad to him as it is to me. Buddy goes into terrible rages on occasion, and so he's on Prozac!! It helps him alot though!

  • I didn't know you could put a cat on Prozac! That's good to know. My CH cat Shakie can throw some terrible fits. Maybe I'll talk to his vet about Prozac.

  • Some vets don't want to do that, but the one I go to said we could try it. He has been on it for about 2 years now. It helps with his aggression, and he doesn't spray around the house anymore! Try it if you can! When Shakie throws fits, are they kind of aggressive fits?

  • bring back the chubby cat!!

  • lol love the way u nudged the chubby kitty out of the camara <3

  • Aw, such a cute kitty, my heart breaks for cats like Roxy!

  • Its wonderful how many people are adopting poor kitties with CH! I just learned of the condition today, and it's heart-warming to know that a lot of these kitties are well-loved and lead a normal life.

  • Maybe you could get little strips of carpet for her to get a grip on when she tries to walk? That polished floor is obviously too tricky for her. She's a beautiful cat.

  • aww roxy is adorable.

i feel so bad for her! my cat also has this disease, but is no where near as extreme. i'm glad she found a loving home to take care of her :)

  • 0:26 to 0:29 is owned

  • r poor lil thing my nans cant c properley so he bumps in2 everthing and gets worried and hes soooo lovley and is always purring

  • Aww :(

  • poor thing

  • poor thing

  • I just lol'd when you moved the other cat out the way as if you were saying "MOVE stinkeh KAT!"

  • Our cat has this as well This is Charley is also on youtube. I just wanted to comment on the carpet vs. wood floor issue. We have carpets all b/c the wood is so slippery. We noticed his peeing on carpets was b/c he would get so frustrated with falling over in the litter box, We got a litterbox with super high sides if we hear him walking toward the box we go steady him. He stopped peeing outside the box,He suffers from bruised ribs on the hard floors so that is one reason to get some carpeting.

  • Youre awesome, and so lucky to have a cat like Charley =) I hope he brings you years of happiness and joy, have great day =D

  • I also have a cat with this disorder... He is three years old, and I finally found out today that this is what he has. I find he does way better on carpets as well, and did initially have problems with him peeing outside of the litter box. He's fine now as long as I scoop the box twice a day. He has to lay on his side and lift his leg to go, and he can't bury it well so that's why he wouldn't use it if the litter was dirty. He is a real trooper though, and so affectionate. I'm glad I found him!!

  • She seems to handle it ok, all things considered, but I imagine it IS an effort for her just to stand up and make a few steps... Do you also have carpets in your house, or just wooden flooring? Is she doing better on less slippery surfaces?

  • Yes she is slightly better on carpet but not dramatically. We used to have carpet in our old place, but the problem with that was that she has a tendency to pee on soft surfaces (I don't know what it is, but it always makes her go if I'm not watching her closely). We have since moved to a new place with hardwood flooring, and I just provide her with soft surfaces to hang out on whenever I'm home and am able to watch her. Much easier to just wash a blanket than constantly clean pee out of carpet.

  • See above!!! My little man doesn't pee outside the box anymore. I also have a jumbo box with a cover. It gives him privacy and a "wall" to lean on, making the experience less stressful for him. It's so awesome that these cats have safe homes and owners to care for them. My guy is named Keaton and he is totally the joy of my life! I rescued him from a girl who took him home because of the novelty, and didn't care for him. He was near death when I took him, doing fine now though! So rewarding!

  • aw shes gorgeous

  • I thought it was funny too when you pushed the big boy's butt out of the way - but what I found interesting was how she used her tail to balance herself. That is a very unusual position for a cat to keep their tail in (I've never seen that before) but it definitely helped!

  • She is so cute!

  • Best way to describe this in my own words, is like walking on slippery jelly (jello for none UK), you know wh
