I like how you used the coolest looking martial arts knife for the presentation. And, I like how you use your thumb to cut away from yourself. Smart. I wondered why anyone would not like the video. I guess the thing about a flat lead is that it has the advantage of gaining great control over line width and smoothness when you sharpen it to a wedge instead of a point, you know?
@RamessesIX Thanks for the comment. I didn't know this is a martial arts knife haha. I wasn't so smart one time with a carving knife, the wood snapped and went through my index finger pretty much down to the bone. Not sure if I have a video showing the wound, but I did buy a carving glove recently so that won't happen again.
@HedgehogOutdoors I never thought of a carving glove. Thanks for the tip. I have been trying to think of ways to make sharpening sketching pencils safer for kids.
