I first heard this sung by Evie about 25 years ago when growing up in India. I still rate it as the best rendition I have ever heard with respect to this powerful Carol. I posted it on FB just before Christmas for many others to be blessed by the anointing and pureness of her voice.

upon reading the comments, does this mean that since I havae several casettes and LP's in very good condition, that I have some very valuable recordings? Got LPs at goodwill for 50c each, play beautifly. Christmas album in mint condition. And I LOVE it! Wish I had capability to upload them all for your benefit. Bought myself a phonograph for my birthday years ago and enjoy the oldies but goodies egulaly. Just wish I had special deliviery. Love her voice.

Ok, I admit, I was never a fan of her's. However, gotta give her props on this. She does this extremely difficult song with grace and beauty.

She has some French Albums. she can speak french. her English was better. she still lives on. her older stuff was better. she did a album 1990 but I steel like the older ones from the late 70s

Evie's voice is so beautiful, it is unfortunate that the sound quality on most of the youtube videos here don't give the true quality of her sweet clear voice; with the distinctive Norwegian pronunciations of vowels ever, (like Abba), but here its so muffled, the exact opposite of what it should be.

She was a member at our church in Brooklyn, and went to study and record in Norway and produced this Christmas record.

One other thing. She introduced rock music to churches when it was not in vogue

Don't know if you would call it rock music. Evie's contemporary Christian music was quite conservative compared to what's out there today.

My parents bought this L.P. after this T.V.show when we still lived in holland. They still have it.We have the casette tape,it goes in our vehicle around christmas and stays there sometimes fore months in a row.Best christmas record ever.

If ever an Angel fell to Earth this would be the one. I saw her on a TV Christmas Show way back in the seventies, and being a young man I fell in love with her.

@NCLUSA You can say that again. She has the heart, voice and face of an angel. Back then, I was a part-time DJ on the Christian radio station in Lynchburg, VA while attending college. Needless to say, Evie's music got a lot of airplay then. I was totally smitten with her. Evie was married in '79 and pretty much retired in '81 but mentored Rebeca St. James. Evie was very popular then and despite a relatively short career, she was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2005.

Go on Ebay and pull up Evie for music and you can see what they have to offer on cd's. She does have cd's out but they are rare. I have all that she has every recorded on cd's. She has cd's that records her hits and also a christmas cd. Just keep looking on Ebay, they will come up. The Christmas cd is not cheap.

@avsoelen Hi, could you post 'Move Me Closer' by Evie? I love that song and I can't find it anywhere. Thanks so much. This is one of my favorite versions of 'Oh Holy Night', what a sweet and beautiful voice. My children grew up listening to Evie. Some of the best memories! And we all loved Evie's "The Tree Song" ! Timeless, like all of Edie's lyrics.
