Saved my butt with this guide! I read disassembly instructions and even saw another video on how to take it down, but for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to do a few of the key steps before I found your video. Thanks!
i think you just scared me away from getting a model 12 =( 870 is WAY easier, i guess thats why its the best selling shotgun out there, but i want a model 12 for its history although this looks a little intimidating to fully strip =(
@567WORMBOY123 hello there, yes it is a little tricky at first but you get use to it pretty fast and you also have to think about how often you are actualy going to ge tearing it all apart? twice a year maybe? There a faster working gun but a little heavy, Dont get me wrong the 870 are sweet guns as well! much easier to take down! haha but there is just nothing can beat the smooth pump on the m12 in MHO haha. really you cant go wrong with the 870 or the 12 both are ledgends! good luck
You are very wecome! thanks for watching, i should have the reassembly videos up soon! sounds like you got yourself a great deal! if your not looking to resell i would give it a nice blueing job and enjoy it for many years, beautiful gun/peice of history.
Thanks for putting this up! My son got a 1929 16 gauge full choke model 12 for free from a friend that didn't have any interest in guns. The bore is in excellent condition just cleaned it yesterday. And we cleaned up most of the rust on the outside the blueing is pretty much gone kinda thinking about re-blueing it were not gonna sell it anyway.
@TheCanuckCowboys today I took it to have it looked at to see if we could shoot it and they said it looks fine for shooting. And they had a appraisal book and in its condition they said its worth $300-$400 dollar range but I think were just gonna keep it. They also recommended not shooting steel shot thru it only lead shot cause steel shot could possibly damage the barrel. Hoping to take it out this weekend and shoot it :)

@mesarock2vh on second thought though! if its that old you might just want to have it appraised before playing with it to much. :)
