  • Thats how the Russians wash their planes

  • What goes up, most come down...and then even more.

  • How to trow more 80 Milion dolars to the sea

  • Soviet Russia if you think the posters of "Thumbs up" jokes are retarded.

  • Thumbs up if you think posters of “Soviet Russia” jokes are retarded.

  • god i hope he didnt get sucked under

  • The aircraft was recovered from the water, not sure if it went back into service. But there are many examples of the arresting cable snaping, and the pilots being forced to eject.

  • @contemporarymonk Couple of questions, if the tank is half or full will the aircraft float(at least for a while)?

Also they do recover to ensure protection of their tecnology or just because they can reutilize some expensive air-craft parts?

  • @Draxis32 naa a plane would never float like that .

  • he pulled the unemployment cord

  • Stupid jet. WTF? Doesn't this thing have a computer or something? Is this the button you push?

  • Ejects n lands infront of a aircraft Carrier gd Luck getting out the way lol

  • Why people making fun of russia.. stupid americans, iraq, iran, pakistan, afganistan, why dont you mess with someone your own size.. too scared.. money hungry genocidal cowards..

  • how to spend 200mil USD in a second :D

  • didnt soviet russia stop existing in like 1990?

  • @humanidt still exists

  • so the guy ejected.... but now he is going to get run over by an aircraft carrier.

  • reminds me of a vid i saw pilots thought they were going to crash and ejected...15seconds later the plane was still in the air

  • @Diemorder do u know the name of the video?

  • bet the pilot had been eyeing the eject button for some time

  • There goes Fred again....

  • He is supposed to come in with Full After Burner on just to avoid an incident like this.

  • @jmvideo7

he did... the arresting cable failed after it had nearly completely stopped him... even at full afterburner, from a dead stop the plane will take a second or two to gain inertia, you wont just rocket off...

It wasn't the pilots fault at all.

  • @jmvideo7 The wire obviously snapped, you can see the plane slow quickly, then roll, No amount of thrust would have allowed him to get airbourne again

  • They got that airplane out of the water and launched in record time.

  • These "In Soviet Russia" jokes are not only unfunny, but incredibly stupid. They're old, generic, and it takes no thought to make one up. Just stop please. Seriously.

  • @TheRobotHell Totally agree, fuck they were stale back when the Soviet Union was still a country and Yakov Smirnoff ran the shit into the ground because he wasn't creative enough to come up with anything else.

  • @TheRobotHell In Soviet Russia, jokes find YOU funny.

  • In Soviet Russia, you no land on carrier, carrier land on you!

  • See your problems dont end when you edject you still have to make sure you dont get run over by the ship

  • Am sick of comments starting with "in soviet Russia...."

  • @FLANKERATOR In soviert Russia comments are sick of you! haha

  • @Chrischn89 LOL good one, hard to appreciate lame jokes, oh chuck Norris jokes make me sick too ;)

  • 37 mins later, they launch another jet... I wonder if they saved him? lol

  • This is no pilot's fault, but broken wire...

Wire stop airplane enough just not to be able to get airborne again, but break...

    Pilot survived.

This pilot was real ACE, but unfortunately died few years after this case in plane crash.

Regarding catapult - russian aircarrier have no catapult at all... Russian planes are able to get airborne just on their power (even with locked brakes if light weight). You can see this in some videos here...

  • in soviet russio , those jokes are still funny

  • and then the ship goes over him and he gets chopped up in the propeller

  • @randomdude10010 propeller..... What.

  • @cokefan3 The spinning thing in the back of the boat that pushes

  • @randomdude10010 Lol okay.

  • these in soviet russia jokes/comments are lame... and over used.

  • @NakenKenguruTiss Probably an expendable component of the catapult... such as the connector from the wheel to the cat.

The US by comparison uses a hold-back bar that breaks when enough pressure is put on it. This is to keep the plane in place while the engines and the cat comes up to full power, otherwise an unexpected brake, gear or wheel failure could have dire consequences. The remains of the bar are discarded.

Google for "hold-back bar" for more information.

  • isn't he just going to get run over by the carrier

  • In Soviet Russia carrier land on us

  • I'd hate to land in front of a carrier

  • OMG, FIRED.

  • Welcome to Russian Navy

  • What kind of plane is that? A Mig series?

  • @Wildcat425B Looks like an Su-27

  • @Wildcat425B Su-33

  • LOL, if you press 2 it looks like the ocean spit him out.

  • @danthewolf1997 "Ocean no like Soviet no moar"

  • this happened to me in flight simulator

  • @bote117 Did you eject in time?

  • @johnvarles well, it's a natural reaction to eject, I saw the plane moving after trap so I have to puch me out, I was in a flight sim, I think it wasn't pilot's fault, what you think??

  • I wonder what happens to you if you crash a plane.

  • @madmuthadude

In this case it wasn't his fault so probably nothing. My friend crashed a plane in Demblin flight school (polish military pilot school), it was small training plane and he just wasn't approved to fly a fighter jet plane ;]

  • Its a su33 ,the cable broke ,not the pilots fault, this happened to a f/a18 hornet ,deck crew memebrs injured from blastin cable, and yes Mig29's operate in carrier ,new generation Mig29's replaced su33 recently

  • rapidly press 1 for moon walking su33 flanker

  • @TheEvgen8410

    No, it's a Su-33 carrier-based fighter jet. MiG-29's don't operate from carriers.

  • AAAND then after all that another plane takes off like nothing happend lol.

  • not sure if he was ACTUALLY going full throttle i mean i kno they are taught that but if he had it at full throtle you wuld see afterburners

  • did he get fired?

  • with full afterburner i think he would have had a chance

  • Why they lost.

  • In soviet russia, This is how we land on carriers

  • @AlexBoy123HBG Carrier lands on you!

  • @AlexBoy123HBG In Soviet Russia, carrier land on you

  • @AlexBoy123HBG ROFL

  • @AlexBoy123HBG in capitalist america, bank robs YOU

  • @rusalkin in communist russia you have.... im not gonna go there you stupid communist you freaking abbomination you freaking danm socialist of a higher grade you freaking fuck fuck you and your danm communist country.... you know hitler was a socialist wich is nothing better than a freaking communist danm i could wright for hours know but only have like 130 sings left

  • @lemsterterror1 why not fill the 130, since u are at it....

  • @AlexBoy123HBG dindt feel like it cus i had more things (rolling a big ass joint) to do... any way greets from holland:)

  • jesus, how the hell do you land on those things?

  • Chock Norris.

  • the full throatle "trick" works if you miss the cable so to get up in the air again, but if the cable slows you down almost to nothing and then snaps, you are pretty much a no no bird.. you're going down ... and yes, somehow he managed to survive the incoming aircraft carrier getting in his face.. dunno how though..

  • @BluestyleY the landing strip is something like 10 degrees or so off center. The pilot is not landing straight down the middle of the ship, so if he goes off the end he's not going to be in danger of being mowed down, as the ship passes by to his right.

  • In mother Russia you no fly jet, Jet fly you!

  • @TheHaloMissions

why people say:in Russia not you fly jet , jet fly you? what's that mean?

  • @JIANGHUAI It's the old "In russia everything's backwards" joke

  • @MrSnobby24 The landing pad is angled to the port side, so when the aircraft goes over the end, it falls into the water on its port or left side of the AC

  • hey no one answered donepearce's question, how could the pilot escape the

100,000 tons aircraft carrier coming towards him,i mean after he ejected and ended up in the water.

  • survive the crash, and then get run the f over by the boat. badluck dude.

  • what splashed when the second plane took off?

  • @ryancrazy1 take off cable.

  • @waloumi does it just fall off into the water everytime a plane takes off? or is it like pulled back

  • At around 2 or 3 seconds in, you have enough time to see the cable, after that its all failure.

I wonder how badly they were pissed off at the maintenance crew for not making sure the integrity of the cable was sound enough for a landing.

  • @SilentAcen

How pissed off? Hmm... someone owes someone the risk of their life and about £20,796,000.

  • in soviet russia, rocket chair determines fate

  • rocket chair saves the day.

  • from watching many traps myself i can agree that richard is probably right the cable broke. one thing thing i CAN tell you for sure is tower did not have to tell this pilot to eject.he knew pretty god damn quick!!

  • He landed too far, and also was too slow for aborting the landing and rotate.

  • its because the cable decreased the speed but snapped at the end thats why

  • @Richard19706 I don't see any of the 3 cables because of the bad quality of the vid, but maybe it happened like you said..

  • Actually its the only explanation i have for that, since you definately see a rapid and rather strong deceleration and he is very slow when he rolls over the edge, he couldn´t do that with wheelbrakes only. not in this short space.

  • if it's like that then the Pilot has some Damn good skills and a damn good reaction!!!

  • theres a better one but i forgot what its called im also getting into this so i know some here and there, if u can find the better video it says that the cables snapped and shows it snapping too

  • you never sit on the deck half-steam you crank that throttle incase you DONT make it ,like this someones never flying again

  • i can´t really see it, though it looks like he caught the wire, slowed down and the hook ripped or slipped of........otherwise i cant explain that happening.........i could say it better with a better vid quality

  • actually you might be right, the cables stopped him and he was still at full throttle, then it broke, causing him so slowly take off the edge. gold star for you

  • the cable snapped it wasnt the pilots fault he ejected at the last second because the caple decreased the planes speed but snapped at the end so the aircraft kept going, he did what he was suppose to do

  • cable**

  • That does not matter if you are slowed to 40mph or so then the cable or the hook break.

  • they tell you to wave off if u dont catch the cable....

  • How would you feel if you ejected, landed in the water safely, and then get ran over by your own ship.

  • crushed

  • Calling it a Su-27 is a bit misleading.

The correct name is Su-33 (or Su-27K)

Russia does have a carrier, Admiral Kuznetsov.

I features a ski-hop ramp, like british carriers, and you'll notice it at the far right in the end of the video.

  • Thats an SU-27, but russia doesnt have any aircraft carriers?

  • Yeah they do and SU-27s do take off from aircraft carriers.

  • This is precisely why heavy ass SU-27's shouldn't land on aircraft carriers.

  • Good job.

  • it happens

  • haha....russian sucks

  • whats the splash at 0:15

  • I think it's some sort of device attached to the front wheel and catapult during the catapult shot. It's discarded after the successful launch. Sorry for my bad english.

  • well there goes millions of dollers

  • @ snooper549:

Im sure you mean millions of rubles. ;D

  • Thank God for the ejaculate function!

  • LOL XD

  • dont post stupid comments if u dont know what this is all about,

    CABLE BROKE!!!! END OF STORY

  • well did you see how much the plane slowed down? That says to me that the pilot hooked the cable but the cable was set for the wrong weight and snapped. So actually this pilot did an incredible job. Plus the LSO prolly said eject and what they say goes during Take off and landings.

  • doesn't look right he slows down but slowly slides of if that cable was at roung weight he would a kept his speed ??? hmmm

  • well.. SINCE YOUR 14 U DONT KNOW ANYTHING..

the cable did not stop him in time..

    thats the problem

  • **cough cough dumb ass @karlking1995

  • ????? **cough cough cunt @meaty459

  • @karlking1995 dude, you need to work on your vocabulary :D

  • That could have been a lot worse than it was. Those cables will cut planes, people and anything else in the way in half when they break and whip around

  • There is a video floating around on the interwebs of one that does break, taking a workers legs clean off. Nasty stuff.

  • I think the cable brake or something like that

  • Yup, one of the cables snapped as it had been used more times than it should of been, thus it had started to fray and lost some of its stopping power and when the su-33 landed it put to much tension onto an already weary cable and the cable snapped. The incident could of been avoided had the russians replaced the arrestor after a set number of landings, usually in american its 100 landings on any one of the cables before they are replaced for safety reasons.

  • Bolter ahaha

  • Well its on a carrier silly

  • Silly Russians...

  • russian air force would probably kill him for losing the plane. he's on one.

  • This guy was one of the best 'sea pilots' in Russia. He continue to fly after incident, and he died in airplane crash few years later... People says he tried to save the plane on the second case, thus he died...

  • WRONG!!!! When you land on a carrier you catch one of four wires call arresting gear cables. Everytime you land on the carrier you go to full throttle just in case you have missed the wires. You then have enough thrust to get yourself back in the air and circle around and try again. He caught the wire and it slowed him down to much but the wire snapped and that is why he went in the ocean.

  • Comment removed

  • @sidesjeremy he was going fast, fast enough so he could try again if he missed... but the cable pulled down his speed to a minimal, so isn't just a freak event?

I'm pretty sure the full throttle trick only works if you MISS, not if the cable snaps.

  • @minerofblood You just said the exact same thing I did. What are you trying to prove. Going full throttle isn't a trick either. It's standard procedure when landing on a carrier. Every single aircraft will do it when they land whether they catch the wire or not.

  • @sidesjeremy you said it was WRONG, but he was going at full throttle, but the cable snapped therefore it would have provided negative accerlation and have minimal speed to try again.

im just wondering how is the pilot WRONG - unless your not refering to the pilot

    thx

  • @sidesjeremy Very true. Pilot's are trained to keep full throtle on until their air speed has dropped to nothing.

  • @sidesjeremy ^ correct, i saw a thing on quest "freeview channel 38 (uk)" n it exactly as he said :)

  • @sidesjeremy It slowed him down to about 20 knots, and then snapped. Even if he had full thrust, the would be able to get to the air before hitting the water,

  • @sidesjeremy Notice how the plane was russian...

  • @fs042xproductions

What's your point about the plane? It's the arresting cable that failed, not the aircraft nor pilot.

  • @sidesjeremy But if your coming in too rapidly, isn't there a possibility of losing your landing gear?

  • @Spudfish93 There is a chance of anything happening. If you land too hard on the deck, there are indicators on the landing gear that pop when you do your post flight inspection. If you land WAY too hard then you crash.

  • OK, I'm safely out of the crashing plane, and floating in the sea. Now I just need to work out what to do about 100,000 tons of aircraft carrier coming towards me at 20 knots. Hmmm...

  • Well that is one of the many dangers you have to take into account in the split seconds before you make the decision, me personally I would be more scared of all that parajumping gear pulling me down to the bottom of the sea.

  • actualy that is an admiral kuznetsov class aircraft carrier so it weighs 76,000 tons and has a service speed of 40 knots

  • The landing section of an aircraft carrier is actually angled out to the left and on the side of the ship. WHen he crashed he actually landed on the side of the ship. There is a slight chance of getting sucked under by the screws but the ship has protocol for that kind of situation

  • @donepearce haha, yeah surviving a quick and painless plane crash only to get dragged under carrier and chopped in slices by a propelor seconds later

  • @donepearce swim like there is no tommorow.

  • ive never realized or thought about this but the height of the deck of an aircraft carrier is like 50 feet. i would not want to fall off one

  • It's taller then that, The planes fall like 60 when they leave the deck.

  • Pilot: I'm gonna make it! Yeah...I will...Will I? No way! (ejects)

Now seriously: was that a brake failure? I think that those aircraft aren't capable to land in shorter runways. Specifically a carrier.

  • ummm, everyone uses arresting gear wires. so they probably checked in the weight boards wrong for the aircraft, s there was wasy to little power behind the arresting wires. so it jus rolled off the end. this is a russin carrier anyway. hu knows wut could happen

  • Yeah. It's hook probably didn't get the rope. That's a very agile pilot. If he didn't have sharp reflexes he would probably sleeping along with the fishes right now.

  • @SpecialOperations: I think it did get the rope, because you can see it slowing down rapidly, but hen it just looks like the rope breaks or the planes loses it.

  • The hook missing the cable is very, very common. That's why pilots go to full power as soon as they hit the deck so they can take off again.

  • i would say the thing that falls apart from the second plane is kind of lock buckle to hold the plane on the deck while its increasing thrust to maximum. russian carrier doesnt have an aircraft catapult, so the planes fly only by afterburner thrust

  • stupid you.... for making such a stupid comment... and on top of that making a stupid spelling mistake in it.

  • Haha Stupid Russian's....is that good for you?

  • Actually a Sukhoi, probably a Su-33 but I'm no expert on Russian made fighters.

  • yep, Sukhoi Su-33, landing cable snapped.

As for ejection under water, ejection seats aren't made for that purpose,n and the shock can kill you... however, it was done already at least once (a US Navy pilot; when you're under water and going down, you know you'll gonna die anyway, so you try whatever you can to get out of there).

As for the military channel claiming it's an american plane, if they did, it just proves you shouldn't believe everything the TV says ;)

  • Yep, thats SU-33 trying to land on carrier Kuznetsov.

It's amazing how much you can find info by using just date showing there in the video....

  • what the hell to talking abput thats a russian mig you retard

  • here's a stupid Q but i really want to know: if a pilot fails to eject and the plane falls in water , is it impossible to eject underneath?

  • yes it is. martin-baker ejection seats are nowadays designed to eject the pilot from underwater by itself in case of pilots unconsciousness after the ditching. i suppose the water fills the electric circut or something like that
