Shinn is the best, plotkai saved a lot of asses in destiny. Kira, should had obviously died, Athrun should had died. In the end, Shinn only lost cause of the creator. He even allowed Kagalli to perform on Shinn level so she wouldn't get ROLFPWN'D. I still demand my ACTUAL alternate ending where Shinn kicks ass like hes suppose too and not his machine's leg breaking in some bs fashion the way it did.
i don't understand why everbody hates shinn, and that he is mentaly fucked, if i where in his situation i would fell exacly the same. first his family is laying dead before him, then he joins the military and meets the dumb bitch stellar ( dont understand why he loves her) that heales a little of his pain from the death of his family. and then she dies, so i really think anybody else in that situation would want to do suicide, and after that the only thing left for him is anger and hatred.
@ollebullebello because all the reasons to like him (ie any skill with mobile suits and sense of justice) dissapeared as he got the destiny gundam (he had no moments of ingenuity with it and essentially became a cultist of zaft head person guy). oh and the series made all of his actions evil as soon as god yamato arrived, so that made people dislike him.
that and the fact that awesomes wise, the v2 gundam which had the original wings of light, was a hundred times more badass (although at least five times worse looking, just a thing that comes with being too badass in universal century)
funny thing about beam boomerangs is that in U.C. people threw their sabers, people in seed think it was a good idea to make actual boomerangs. Yes, the militaries are that stupid. GG cosmic era
@kevinlei92 i don't watch too much uc (apart from unicorn) so i can't really comment but i'll say that they really didn't do much with destiny which is a shame (most scenes are just shinn chopping things up in emo mode :/)
as for the boomerangs, i never really quite got how a thrown boomerang could catch up to something faster than a fighter jet :P that and how they always managed to get them to hit
now all you need to know is that swords are better swung with much longer and flexible arms, and that rifles will always be better than a sword in combat because of speed.
they got really lazy these days, not doing war damage and all. By saying shit like 'PS' armor or GN coating. yea, bad excuse not to show your mecha getting damaged. Its like a bunch of guys playing a game with god mode on and saying they were great.

yea the problem with 00 was that it lacks common sense. it also trolled in a epically fail way, by not having a chick in the cast. Season one was .. alright, it was some what ok, its season 2 that made me faceplant and just completely throw 00 aside. The movie was even worse than s2. i asked myself how bad could 00 possible get after the ending of s1, and got my slap in the face with a trail blazing rage from understanding aliens.

In terms of Gundam, Destiny was so much better than Strike Freedom imo. All they did was take Freedom, added gold framing, a DRAGOON system, and more firepower (you couldn't possibly miss with all that firepower), while Destiny had a more original design. It's just unfortunate that Shinn was a total tool and would've been much better if he didn't listen to Rey and joined Athrun/Kira.

kira begins to actually shoot and kill people. He begins to do this as he has support from other people. And at the very end, he wasn't a pussy at all. he was a gud person who tried to stop this war and all this fighting. and also, he stopped crying and finally became a soldier
I believe that Seed is actually a very good series, the plot and the story is just really good to me. Why? there are lots of reasons. one of them is, the character Kira, at first, he was just a normal school kid, but he develops as he pilots the gundam. yes, he WAS a cry baby, had trouble killing, but who doesnt? he was just a normal kid, if it was u, i dont think u could kill someone at the start, this is why this show is quite realistic.
I hate Kira as a character. It's not just because of all this fanboys/girls, because there are tons, but it's because he's such a goody two shoes and, in my opinion, a pussy. I don't like Shinn either, he wines too much, but at least he's not afraid to kill someone. Overall, I don't really like many of the Seed Destiny pilots. The Destiny Gundam is awesome though.
yes strike freedom would win in space...................not so much in atmosphere ie. the lack of its signature weaponry the dragoons which cant be used within the atmosphere thats where the destiny would take that one (bring athrun in and you get the show)
Gundam has always been an anti-war story according to its creators. Shins motivations for fighting were anger and revenge. These are understandable motives but the ultimat emessage of gundam is that we must overcome those emotions.
Because of this Shin was a clear nati-hero in the gundam universe and so was always going to have to be schooled by the true themed heros, athran and kira...as they have reached a point of violence only when needed and kill only when they have to.
According to production interviews: The destiny gundam was an idea made during the creation of the original gundam seed. It was supposed to be an amalgum of all the different strike gundam modes. The guy in charge decided it wasnt quite right so they went on and created the freedom. Later on, when talking about doing another seed story, they brought the destiny gundam in and worked the lore so it fit with Shin and his story.
@Xinathor Which was what exactly? As far as I can tell it would have been him and Ray being Gestapo of the world crushing anyone or anything that stood in the chairman’s way. Now if Shinn had grown as a character the same way Kamille did in Zeta but went against the chairman, Kira only had a cameo role like Amuro did in Zeta, and Athrun wasn’t a wuss and actually did a better job of tutoring Shinn it would have been a far better series.

@ronanscreed seed being the spiritual successor to the original mobile suit gundam, seed destiny was supposed to be the successor to zeta gundam.If you haven't watched zeta gundam you will see that they introduced a new character named Kamille and even tho they had appearances of the older cast thier was not doubting that the main character was always Kamille. Shinn was supposed to be the Kamille of seed destiny and they are similliar in alot of ways like they both dont do well with authority,
@TheOriginalHigh Personally, I prefer Kamille to Shinn, Kamille was much much more likeable than Shinn. With Shinn you just wanted to Bright Slap him every time he threw tantrums and whined about shit. With Kamille I laughed and at the same time if felt a sense of empathy. Kamille had a balance about him, he was rash, somewhat childish and rushed into a lot of things, but in the end, he developed a lot as a character ( unlike Shinn), and I think that was due to the excellent supporting cast.

When I look at Destiny Gundam I am really reminded of the Epyon from Gundam Wing. It's primaraly a Close range suit even though it has mid range weaponry its true strength is that Massive ati-ship sword along with its overwhelming speed. Kinda like Epyon who's primary weapon was its Sword while it had the Heat whip as its mid range weapon and also used speed to make up for its short commings.

its funny that such a bad series can actually has one of the cooler MS designs in recent gundam series, even if it is just a continuation of the rip-off-Victory Gundam trend they did with Impulse.
Good vid my least favorite series has one of my top 10 favorite gundams it's kinda funny. I like how every one keeps arguing over who's the better pilot or which is the strongest gundam every pilot has their own strengths and weaknesses same for every gundam.
Gotta say this, Destiny Gundam is badass eh, it has poh sword (Lunar 2), shining finger(G gundam), sonic boom(street fighter), beams, half physical/half energy wings, and magical blurr powers. the machine rocks yoh. the pilot sucks though hes a crazy emo with no justice just hate for war and orb "my opinion dont bite my head off please"
@7kiku7honda7japan Look , Shinn was having a mental breakdown and hallucination , which makes him unable to pilot properly. Thats the only reason Athrun 'won' without a scratch. We don't have a clear view of his piloting skills in GSD.
As for Athrun 'sucking' , I feel that him constantly switching sides ALL the time ( In GS & GSD) made me feel that he sucks (Obviously not refering to his skills)
@johnnymama123 If you remember the rest of the series, that is when he did his best. When he destroyed the orb fleet he was under a lot of stress. When he took down the freedom he was still crazy and grieving from stella dying. He does better under these little breakdowns as they increase his focus and pretty much make him unstoppable, but athrun was still able to dismember destiny like it was nothing. It's true he's a great pilot with an amazing mobile suit, but he's rash and inexperienced.

When he destroyed Orb fleet , he was determined to live . And the battle with freedom, Stella's death motivated him .His not 'crazy' at there.
If you want to know what is crazy , thats what happened to him in the final battle against Athrun .He basically went crazy + hallucinated. This severely crippled him . Its like Athrun disabling a Destiny without a pilot in it.
@johnnymama123 No. maybe the orb fleet was nothing, but I think it would be a lot more painful and mind warping when the one you love dies than when you don't know what to fight for. The confusion and rage he feels is his strength, not a setback. Athrun was an ace that was proficient at piloting a mobile suit before shinn even joined zaft, plus he was fighting infinite justice at it's optimum range so he really didn't stand a chance.

Mental breakdown? shinn was a heartless jerk (cool, but also kinda annoying,) but even he broke down when stella died. you can't compare the pain he felt when she died to the confusion durandal put in his head, one was absolutely devastating but the other was more tolerable. I am pretty sure the way he felt for stella was stronger than his allegiance to ZAFT.

The show shows that Kira and gang is like the good guys , but in an interview with the director , he states that Kira and gang had strayed from the path of justice , which actually is true if you look at the plot in a political view. I don't mean to create waves, but I dislike SEED. SEED DESTIY was better imo but I still didn't enjoy it as much as the UC timeline related series. But that doesn't mean I hate everything about it necessarily... I hated Kira, period. I hated the freedom/strike freedom, period. But I enjoyed Shinn as a character, he is probably one of my favorite characters in any Gundam series so far. The Destiny is one of my favorite Gundam designs as well, and I look forward to getting the Master Grade!

Thats why after episode 34 , we don't get any good fights from the show anymore . as far as piloting skills is concerned, there's not a single fair and square battle than happened so it can't be accurately measured. but if you base it on the battles and how they won, then i could say athrun is the best.

@ronanscreed Kira has also beat Athrun if I remember correctly and it was 4 v Kira. When Athrun self detonated his Gundam on Kira's, that was considered a draw imo. It was said that Athrun won because everyone thought Kira died. The other Gundam pilot must submit, retreat or die for an actual win to count with the superior Gundam pilot still alive, concious, and standing. Besides Kira's the ultimate coordinator as well. But imo I think Kira+Athrun are the best pilots in the Seed and GSD series.
As I mentioned before, the problem with the series is that two pilots are often set against each other when one has seed mode and one doesn't..or some other obviously unbalanced situation.
Thing is when Athrun detonated his gundam on kiras gundam...Athrun walked away healthy while kira needed serious medical attention. In my book, when you look at the end result of a fight. The guy who is still standing beat the guy who is near comatose!
@ronanscreed Athrun didn't walk away healthy.. he was found unconcious and put on a medical bed. He also had to have a cast and get bandages as well. So it was a draw.

i always really liked Gundam Seed Destiny. i mean the other gundam series in the franchise, they were cool and i liked them to, but they all had the same story line. Seed Destiny brought something new to the anime series. i really liked this vid, i wouldn't have thought to use 3 days grace for GSD. it actually went together well i thought. i personally liked the impulse, but i didn't care for the destiny. this vid actually made the destiny look cool. thanks for this.

So yeah, for people like me who watch it for the ACTION, the constant whiny scream Shinn makes is annoying. as hell.
i love the destiny gundam suit but i really kinda dont like the pilot shinn. I can see they tried to make him more of a relatable character because he actually seemed alot more human than the other characters but i feel they overdid his immaturity and that made me dislike him a bit. I guess though him getting bad ass destiny gundam makes up for it? XDD

@left4deadian Yes I have seen 00, and although there are moments of spam beam weapons in the battles it's nowhere near as bad as oh i dunno.... DESTINY. Surely you remember the Stike Freedom when it looks onto several targets at once and suddenly fires like 20 beams, all of which hitting their targets.
Shinn is the best, plotkai saved a lot of asses in destiny. Kira, should had obviously died, Athrun should had died. In the end, Shinn only lost cause of the creator. He even allowed Kagalli to perform on Shinn level so she wouldn't get ROLFPWN'D. I still demand my ACTUAL alternate ending where Shinn kicks ass like hes suppose too and not his machine's leg breaking in some bs fashion the way it did.

as for the boomerangs, i never really quite got how a thrown boomerang could catch up to something faster than a fighter jet :P that and how they always managed to get them to hit

Season one was .. alright, it was some what ok, its season 2 that made me faceplant and just completely throw 00 aside. In terms of Gundam, Destiny was so much better than Strike Freedom imo. All they did was take Freedom, added gold framing, a DRAGOON system, and more firepower (you couldn't possibly miss with all that firepower), while Destiny had a more original design. It's just unfortunate that Shinn was a total tool and would've been much better if he didn't listen to Rey and joined Athrun/Kira.

I believe that Seed is actually a very good series, the plot and the story is just really good to me. Why? there are lots of reasons. one of them is, the character Kira, at first, he was just a normal school kid, but he develops as he pilots the gundam. yes, he WAS a cry baby, had trouble killing, but who doesnt? he was just a normal kid, if it was u, i dont think u could kill someone at the start, this is why this show is quite realistic.

I hate Kira as a character. It's not just because of all this fanboys/girls, because there are tons, but it's because he's such a goody two shoes and, in my opinion, a pussy. I don't like Shinn either, he wines too much, but at least he's not afraid to kill someone. Overall, I don't really like many of the Seed Destiny pilots. The Destiny Gundam is awesome though.

Gundam has always been an anti-war story according to its creators. Shins motivations for fighting were anger and revenge. These are understandable motives but the ultimat emessage of gundam is that we must overcome those emotions.
Because of this Shin was a clear nati-hero in the gundam universe and so was always going to have to be schooled by the true themed heros, athran and kira...as they have reached a point of violence only when needed and kill only when they have to.

According to production interviews: The destiny gundam was an idea made during the creation of the original gundam seed. It was supposed to be an amalgum of all the different strike gundam modes. The guy in charge decided it wasnt quite right so they went on and created the freedom. Later on, when talking about doing another seed story, they brought the destiny gundam in and worked the lore so it fit with Shin and his story.

Now if Shinn had grown as a character the same way Kamille did in Zeta but went against the chairman, Kira only had a cameo role like Amuro did in Zeta, and Athrun wasn’t a wuss and actually did a better job of tutoring Shinn it would have been a far better series.

@ronanscreed seed being the spiritual successor to the original mobile suit gundam, seed destiny was supposed to be the successor to zeta gundam.If you haven't watched zeta gundam you will see that they introduced a new character named Kamille and even tho they had appearances of the older cast thier was not doubting that the main character was always Kamille. Shinn was supposed to be the Kamille of seed destiny and they are similliar in alot of ways like they both dont do well with authority,

With Shinn you just wanted to Bright Slap him every time he threw tantrums and whined about shit. With Kamille I laughed and at the same time if felt a sense of empathy. Kamille had a balance about him, he was rash, somewhat childish and rushed into a lot of things, but in the end, he developed a lot as a character ( unlike Shinn), and I think that was due to the excellent supporting cast.

When I look at Destiny Gundam I am really reminded of the Epyon from Gundam Wing. It's primaraly a Close range suit even though it has mid range weaponry its true strength is that Massive ati-ship sword along with its overwhelming speed. Kinda like Epyon who's primary weapon was its Sword while it had the Heat whip as its mid range weapon and also used speed to make up for its short commings.

@johnnymama123 If you remember the rest of the series, that is when he did his best. When he destroyed the orb fleet he was under a lot of stress. When he took down the freedom he was still crazy and grieving from stella dying. He does better under these little breakdowns as they increase his focus and pretty much make him unstoppable, but athrun was still able to dismember destiny like it was nothing. It's true he's a great pilot with an amazing mobile suit, but he's rash and inexperienced.

When he destroyed Orb fleet , he was determined to live . And the battle with freedom, Stella's death motivated him .His not 'crazy' at there.
If you want to know what is crazy , thats what happened to him in the final battle against Athrun .He basically went crazy + hallucinated. This severely crippled him . Its like Athrun disabling a Destiny without a pilot in it.

@johnnymama123 No. maybe the orb fleet was nothing, but I think it would be a lot more painful and mind warping when the one you love dies than when you don't know what to fight for. The confusion and rage he feels is his strength, not a setback. Athrun was an ace that was proficient at piloting a mobile suit before shinn even joined zaft, plus he was fighting infinite justice at it's optimum range so he really didn't stand a chance.

I am pretty sure the way he felt for stella was stronger than his allegiance to ZAFT.

He was questioning durandal that is true, but again it was more something at the back of his mind than the main focus. At the time all he could think about is killing athrun and blowing up the freedom while defending the messiah. Or at least that is what the show conveyed. If that was really the intent, then it was poorly done

From what the show showed, he was just wanting to get it over with, and by some random mistake that shouldn't even have happened his mobile suit got completely destroyed. I don't mean to create waves, but I dislike SEED. SEED DESTIY was better imo but I still didn't enjoy it as much as the UC timeline related series. But that doesn't mean I hate everything about it necessarily... I hated Kira, period. I hated the freedom/strike freedom, period. But I enjoyed Shinn as a character, he is probably one of my favorite characters in any Gundam series so far. The Destiny is one of my favorite Gundam designs as well, and I look forward to getting the Master Grade!

i think all the ppl says that shin lost because of his mental breakdown is completely bullshit, think of this, before shin mental break down his laser sword got destroyed already. his long distance weapons wont do shit as athrun can dodge easily. so what he got left - hand cannons which the mental breakdown didnt affect it coz regardless he used it to attack and it's a good choice to use it but got owned by justice double laser sword instead. Mental breakdown only cause shin attack recklessly

@Eviser1993 part of the reason why he got owned even when in seed mode and athrun isn't is that shinn idiotically used an anti-"SHIP" sword against a "MOBILE SUIT".. apparently he thinks it's cool because of it's huge ass size and shinntards go "kya! kya!" when he use it in combination with the wings of light.. what he failed to realize is that only one edge of it has beam emitter and the other edge is easily destroyed by a clever maneuver in athrun's part.. durrrrr

@ponkadolz Wrong , the one who plotted the story somehow made Shinn had mental problems whenever he faces Kira/Athrun . Thats why after episode 34 , we don't get any good fights from the show anymore . Like in orb , Kira returns and shocked shinn , athrun returns and double shocked him , making him mentally unstable ,the final battle where he loses his mind? They are just trying to avoid Shinn fighting Kira/Athrun properly .

as far as piloting skills is concerned, there's not a single fair and square battle than happened so it can't be accurately measured. but if you base it on the battles and how they won, then i could say athrun is the best.
as for the most interesting character, i'd say gilbert. i really don't understand why some people likes an angsty emo cry baby tool like shinn.. oh well, to each their own..

But the second...I think Rau le Creuset is most interesting. Although Gilbert thinks of him as a tool , you can't say he is one . He believed Gilbert , and followed his ideals after rey persuaded him to do so. He actually have doubts before this , if rey didn't do so , we will see Shinn + Kira + Athrun vs Rey. 2: he had the support of his ship to send him new parts after kira choped him up.
On the other hand athrun beat kira by
1: realizing they were equals
2: attaching his gundam to kiras and self detonating...

Athrun has shown the skills of kira, and better strategy..besting both Kira and Shin
Athrun is the clearly superior pilot in the series.

@ronanscreed Kira has also beat Athrun if I remember correctly and it was 4 v Kira. When Athrun self detonated his Gundam on Kira's, that was considered a draw imo. It was said that Athrun won because everyone thought Kira died. The other Gundam pilot must submit, retreat or die for an actual win to count with the superior Gundam pilot still alive, concious, and standing. Besides Kira's the ultimate coordinator as well. But imo I think Kira+Athrun are the best pilots in the Seed and GSD series.

As I mentioned before, the problem with the series is that two pilots are often set against each other when one has seed mode and one doesn't..or some other obviously unbalanced situation.
Thing is when Athrun detonated his gundam on kiras gundam...Athrun walked away healthy while kira needed serious medical attention. In my book, when you look at the end result of a fight. The guy who is still standing beat the guy who is near comatose!

i always really liked Gundam Seed Destiny. i mean the other gundam series in the franchise, they were cool and i liked them to, but they all had the same story line. Seed Destiny brought something new to the anime series. i really liked this vid, i wouldn't have thought to use 3 days grace for GSD. it actually went together well i thought. i personally liked the impulse, but i didn't care for the destiny. this vid actually made the destiny look cool. thanks for this.

If is wasn't for the the stupid director changing the story when people were complaining there wasn't enough Kira, then this mobile suit would have been God-Like, unlike Jesus Yamato and the Strike Freedom. And in the first second he gets his wings cut off. Damn... Seriously, I watched Gundam for FUN not like. O SHIET.. I MUST STUDY ALL THE CHARACTERS AND FULLY UNDERSTAND THE STORY INSIDE OUT.. i love the destiny gundam suit but i really kinda dont like the pilot shinn. I can see they tried to make him more of a relatable character because he actually seemed alot more human than the other characters but i feel they overdid his immaturity and that made me dislike him a bit. I guess though him getting bad ass destiny gundam makes up for it? XDD

@left4deadian Yes I have seen 00, and although there are moments of spam beam weapons in the battles it's nowhere near as bad as oh i dunno.... DESTINY. Surely you remember the Stike Freedom when it looks onto several targets at once and suddenly fires like 20 beams, all of which hitting their targets.
