  • Thank you for your reply... I was taught the SKIF version of Jiin. Not sure of how my sensei came to learn this version, him being an advanced student of Master Okazaki (ISKF) in Philadelphia who I believe came up through the JKA lineage.

  • It is great to see that people all over the world do the same katas

  • My question to any Sensei seeing this video is... First, I like the execution of the this kata but In this Jiin kata and other Jiin kata on YouTube the performance of blocks after the kicks are different than Kanazawa Senei's video. Our Shotokan system performs Jiin exactly as Kanazawa Sensei. What's the deal? Is Kanazawa Sensei's performance wrong or is this just another version?

  • @RedLotusGhost Both are correct, the Ji'in kata performed in this video is according to JKA or follows the JKA line, Kacho's Ji'in is a little bit different in which he had done some modification towards the kata not only in this kata but also in other kata, i.e Meikyo if you observe properly and also the reversal name for Gojushiho Dai and Gojushiho Sho kata. We can't say Kancho is wrong but merely he has his own interpretation in the kata he taught to his organization which is the SKIF. Oss!

  • As a Sensei I'm also a tournament judge, that is where the relevance lies. It sounds to me like you are the one who needs self validation. And as far as my ego, I appreciate your concern, but honestly it's not necessary. I'm completely happy with my life. Thanks anyway.

  • dancing queen. great sound effects to make technique seem powerful duh

  • Excellent! I am a Sensei

  • @DnCMiller what kind of statement is that? " I am a Sensei?" youre embarrassing you mean ....

  • @Darragh62 I don't follow you. Since when is being a Sensei embarrassing, or are you saying the form was embarrassing? If so, I disagree on both counts.

  • @DnCMiller what relevance is it whether youre a "sensei" or not? who goes around saying this on random videos? do u walk around with a sandwich board through the streets stating this fact? why do you need to say this? what relevance to this video does that have? its ridiculous.. why do you need to tell people this? is your self-esteem that low? dont sound like much of a sensei if you ask me...

  • good dancer
