  • Best gospel song ever :D "ya down with G.O.D? Yeah u know me!"

  • Ah, the 90s, when boys could wear overalls in public and not get shamed for it.

  • YOU GO PROFESSOR MCGONNAL!

  • this is super great i would watch it over and over again

  • The most touching thing is the sign language lady who was not present in any of the other school's performances. Her signing is quite lovley!

  • 90's Power Harmony @ 2:44 -- They don't make music like this anymore!

  • lol, Reverend Mother is intimidating him... XD

  • thanks for uploading:)

  • Mom this is a slap! I can sing !!!!

  • 7:30 "Go with God, Crispy." BAHAHAHAH

  • *sniff sniff* so beautiful

  • If you wanna be somebody

If you want to go somewhere

You better wake up and play attention.

  • "Go with God, Crispy." LOL! This movie is amazing. :D

  • Oh the young and amazing lauryn hill

  • Well done CookieFridays for uploading this it made my day. Brought back alot of memories!

  • I can't believe they won the whole thing! What a miracle! There was no way I was predicting that!

  • WHEN HE DID THE FLIP ON STAGE i WAS THINKING....HOW THE HECK WAS HE GOING TO DO THAT WITH A ROBE ON???

  • @zoey8936 lol, i just thought the exact same thing!

  • "Go with God, Crispy."

    LOL Yes.

  • So, Mr. Crisp was really out for himself the whole film, right?

  • DOOOOOPE FINAL

  • i love Monica Calhoun (redshorts) shes so cute.

  • now thats wat i call a nun!!

  • why did they have to take off their robes?

  • @msfashionlover did you even listen to what sister mary said GURL?!

  • @LotsOfMusicInMyMind sorry i couldnt hear it very well

  • YOU SEE, WHEN HER MAMY SAYS STOP IS STOP!!! EVEN THE VIEDO STOPED LOL

  • @Alexis60549 LOL! true,,,

  • @Tjune84 You totally missed the point of the movie - Rita had by far the most talent, and the least support from her family. Her mother did not realize how much music meant to her, she should never had forced Rita to quit the choir. The group needed her strong vocals, of course she would have gotten the solo, and they single-handedly saved the school from closing. Her mother was wrong, and she admitted by saying she was proud of Rita and what the kids had done. THAT'S good morals.

  • I'm sure they weren't wearing that under their robes?!?

  • My mom could stop me doing anything wih a stare like Rita's mom gave her.

  • was rita married cause there's ring on her left ring finger?

  • @Theazinmonica no, that doesn't always mean they're married.

  • @Tjune84

but she learned her lesson and she SURE has a beautiful voice. There's no question to who should lead without knowing her background story.

  • @xHoShi91x It was ment to be a sarcastic comment, I was laughing when I wrote it. But it doesn't always come across when you write things instead of saying it. I actually like the caracter Rita Watson and love this movie!

  • Amazing... Fantastic... One of the best movie I ever seen.... Quality movie for this generation.... Great... love it, will watch it over and over..... Thanks for uploading....

  • go with God Crispy..LOL

  • Go with GOD, Crispy.

  • i love that omg their joyful joyful gives me soo much energy, makes me wanna dance with them :)

  • the vocals especially the quartet part gives me chills.

  • I have MAJOR goosebumps goin' on now

  • @Bellatrix585

    Ugh, same. It's crazyyy.

  • I love the style of clothes we used to wear. So much color!!!

  • VEGAS? lol

  • Thank you so much for uploading this...I had the best time watching this tonight and reliving my childhood....this movie just warms my heart and gives me such inspiration. WE LOVE U WHOOPI!

  • I love the random Janet Jackson interlude..:P

  • you know in the orginal version of this part of the movie that kid who can sing the high note sung the high note at the end ive been looking for that one since forever

  • It's funny to see some of these future stars like Jennifer love hewitt to dance like that.

  • Okay so my question is how the heck did the piano player change his clothes that fast? When it's just the girl singing at the beginning you can see that he's in the choir robes but then the next time you see him a few seconds later he's not.

  • @masteranimearcher because he's magic

  • @masteranimearcher he had the clothes on underneath! :)

  • @masteranimearcher Obviously you're not a pianist or else you would know. Ludwig Van Beethoven, Keith Emerson, Stevie Wonder... They're all famous for their abilities in that area.

  • @masteranimearcher well they were all told to take their robes off and you can clearly see him stand up to do that at 1:34

  • I noticed something. Marcos, the piano player, could have reproduced all those sounds on the piano and keyboard, except the trumpets, who was playing the trumpets?

  • I'm glad they took those robes off. All these years, I never understood how they would have done all those moves with those robes on anway. lol

  • who was the girl who did the sign language? Anyone know?

  • 2:00 one of Michael Jackson's moves :)

    Thx for the upload

  • hope to hve mor e videos

  • One more Whoopi! make Sister Act 3

  • i love whoopi

  • i looove this thnx 4 putiin it on =D

  • I love how Whoopi dances

  • they need to make more movies like this. something that's not about sex, drugs, violence, etc. great music. great story. everything is great about this movie. perfect. <3

  • @mersadeslynn2010

Yeah, this movie is anti-everything that movies are today.

  • @mersadeslynn2010 I agree; what Hollywood needs--& I want to go to Hollywood for a career in filmmaking--is more musical comedies like this one, for example, which attracted the younger audience to gospel music!

  • go with God crispy

  • @tony056 Love Maggie aka Rev, Mother aka Wendy (Hook) aka McGonecal (sp)

  • Lauryn hill is amazing. To bad they didn't give Jennifer love hewitt a solo, she's amazing too.

  • Glee before Glee...LOL

  • awww I love Whoopi they way she is dancing , she is so sweet lol

  • "Go with God, Crispy." *grin* best line ever

  • this came out in December of 93'

  • go with god crispy! hahaha love it!

  • @ChildOfSekhmet OMFG LOL. omg so funny lol.

  • like the Dudes that say with alot of fellen

  • I love this movie and its hard to believe this was 17-18 years ago thats crazy!

  • "go with god krispy" lol

  • i love this part!!

  • ahh overall jamms. nothing like the 90's to remind us to not wear oversized overalls, jams, bright colors in bulk, and scrunchies..lol!

  • @doggiebritches What about those jeans with the 8 inch belt? ROFL! Fashion was hideous back then. Sometimes I DON'T miss the 90s. haha

  • Young Lauryn so beautiful here....makes me sad:(

  • is the girl in the background doing sign language or just gesturing?

  • @lushiousification she's doing sign language.

  • @edemoness cool, thanks! i was about to ask the extremely dumb question of "what's she saying?" but i was able to figure that out my self, lol

  • You down with GOD?! Yeah you know me! <3

  • I Looove her voice :)

  • What makes it eaven more good is that it has people comming out danceing, singing, rapping, being them selfs

  • Luryan hill is killing it

    with them last notes

  • loves this video

  • this shows that even if you attend an inner city school in a more diffcult neighborhood you can achieve greatness...the orange country choir probably was a preppy private school and this SF poor school not only won they cleaned the floor of the competition

  • aww the 90's. i dont miss those clothes

  • What made this part so epic to me was not just the singing but the choir itself, you see all colors of people coming together to put on a phenomenal performance. It seems like all people are hooked on today is trivial things that have no sentimental value for their future like skin color.

  • WHOOPI GROOVIN AT 4:17! lmbo shoooo i would be too if i was there

  • WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR HIM LATELY =)

  • Its terrifying being stage I did an all state quior compotition a when I was in school, I was nervous as hell! But its an andreniline rush after thow I was buzzing for hours after, we came third, but it was an exsperience! I'll never forget!

I love this bit of the film too I my favourite part!

  • Now this is what I call adoration. Gives you chills. *-*

  • I LOVE THIS FILM X

  • they look like they were dresses in the 80's. LOL!

  • @MissLittleAngel100 Actually, not even close. That attire is CLEARLY 90s. The 80s looked completely different.

  • Actually you're right this movie came out in '92.

  • Haha

    "Vegas?" *looks at camera*

  • Okay, so the audience stands up for the boring choir, but the stay seated for this one? I don't think so...

    And they won too.... :D

  • don't you just LOVE happy endings ?

    -_-

  • WOW I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THE SONG

    I JUST LOVE IT

    LOVE

    L O V E

  • Jennifer Love Hewitt was there toooooooo!!! (>w< b)

  • i love how rita is dresses like that anymored! too bad people don't dres

  • i sang joyful joyful in my choir for our winterfest....awsome song!

  • this has just blown me away.

  • Go with God Crispy. lol

  • LIKE THIS MOVIE!!!! well..how did all of them get the trophy..? hehehe. I mean, it was a competition. Impossible for them to prepare it before right? hihihi. Forget it, it doesn't matter! hahahaha :D

  • @CapableDaughter,

I think that's one of those questions you're not supposed to ask - but, it's still a good one!! How DID they have enough small trophies for the entire St. Francis choir?

  • @knightryderrwn maybe...assuming that the organization of the choir competition counted every choir-group on how many members they have each...you do submit a list of the choir members before entering the competition..

  • @leamorena89,

    That's a good point! I didn't think of that.

  • @knightryderrwn well thank you ^_^

  • @leamorena89,

    S'alright!! :)

  • Brings back memories of my high school show choir days - 20 years ago!! And, my show choir couldn't hold a CANDLE to this crew!!

  • "Go with God Crispy" Lol xD

  • Awesome performance!!! I am so HAPPY they win and keep the school open! Hope fulfilled!

I am GLAD there was reconciliation between Rita and her mother! If parents would only listen to their children to start with!

  • 2.42-2.58 simply amazing vocalz!!!love it!!gives me chills all the time!!

  • @WILLIS274MAD4JESUS Exactly! Wonderful blending of voices, Lauryn and Tanya with those other girls.~~

  • @CookieFridays

I made my boyfriend listen to this several times and that section with the ladies - it's amazing the clarity of their tones!! I referred to it as hearing crystal!

  • 1:47 - 1:50 whoopi may be old but she can move a little bit.......2:46 - 2:58 i love the all girl part..... if you look closely at 2:45 - 2:46 you'll see terri j vaghn (in the red shorts) whose pays lovita in steve harvey show and a nurse in tyler perry's meet the browns.....

  • Comment removed

  • @lmp62390 nah that isn't Terri J Vaughn lol......her name is Monica Calhoun aka "Ebony" from The Player's Club & "Mia" from The Best Man

  • @lmp62390 no actually its Monica Calhoun (The Players Club, Trois 2, Gang of Roses & etc) :) She's through out this movie as well..(girl she made take off glasses in class)

  • 2:59 - 3:10 my sister and i would do that dance each time that scene came on......3:20 - 3:59 it was good to give them the solos.....and at 4:00 - 4:10 i like the all boys part.....this used to be my favorite song in the whole movie! i would watch the movie and look forward to this part!! especially at 7:47.
