  • how wnd where can i purchase your e-book for e-collar traning

  • hi i have a similar question to the last post but i have a 95lbs AM Staff that goes crazy when he sees other dogs trying to play and i was wonder if you think the 300 would be good for him or if i should go for the 1900? thank you in advance and thanks for the educational videos you do a great job with the dogs and the videos. ohhh another question what is the best way to train without getting the dog to respond only when he has the collar on? thank you again

  • @RikoBRUSA Am Staffs are usually pretty sensitive the 300 should be fine or maybe the 280 . for now you need to be concerned to getting him to respond with the collar forget about the without. you have to work on forming new habits

  • @panzertoo thank you and i will be watching your videos for guidence

  • @RikoBRUSA yes search the videos for introducing the collar. let me know if you have questions!!

  • hi great advice, thanks, can l ask- does the collar works as a leash?do l need a leash when walking the dog or is it safe to walk only with electronic collar?does it has a range?will it stop my dog from running away?thanks you

  • @ofcaa12 once they are trained the collar becomes an invisible leash!

  • I couldn't find the dogtra 200Gold on their website but they have the 280 platinum which is from low to medium power... is this okay for an adult lab? or should i go with 1900 series which is low to high power?

  • oh they discontinued it,it was replaced by the 300 that is what we use now, that should be fine for you

  • Hi Kelly , great vids . I'm watching all I can before I put the e-collar on my Husky 9waiting for your instructions) . I'd like to add something about the ''nic'' . for thos of us who have back pain we all know what a ''TENS'' is ( transcutaneaous electric nerve stimulation) . It does use electric discharge but not to shock but rather contract the muscles at various frequencies. At Low frequencies , the body releases its own pain relieving substance called endorphins.

  • The sensation if far from an electric shock. When I put my TENS on and I put it on a muscle , it just contracts it. A little like the abb-tronic , remember that belt that was sold letting people think it would help them loose weight??? Same thing. I hope this helps for those of you who think e-collars a cruel , we have been using this kinda products on humain for many many years now ;-)

  • sorry you are right.. billionth of a sec. 10−9 (that should read 10 to the exponent -9).

  • a nano second is a ninth of a second. So if you think of a second as a whole number, a nano is a ninth of that. Like faster then blinking an eye!

Many people who believe in traditional corrections (leash/collar) talk about corrections being natural and how the mother dog/other dogs correct by speed not force.

I find it highly ironic that many of these same people shun the e-collar.

  • I think its less than that I think its 1 one billionth of a second ..we are going to do a video about why people think e-collars are bad..namely because they are totaly uneducated you will not find anyone who can give an educated argument against then they tend to have an hysterical response because they are seeing them through an uneducated filter ,

  • I have to agree - whenever i ask people why they're against training collars (of any kind) they always reply with emotional reasons: "it's mean", "you wouldn't want to be ZAPPED, would you", "wouldn't want prongs digging into the neck", etc.

It bugs me how uneducated some people can be - especially when they're the ones with dogs who are choking themselves on regular collars (or pulling them down the street in a harness.)

  • @Koreagrrl a nanosecond is one millionth of a second, its 0.000000001 seconds

  • @sn3ax A nanosecond (ns) is one billionth of a second (10-9 s). One nanosecond is to one second as one second is to 31.7 years.

And I don't know that I believe that a nick is a nano second I don't believe they have measured it that precisely

  • She's right about the muscle contraction - not a "shock" in the sense that most of us understand the word. I started my dog on the e-collar last week with great results already. In order to fully understand the tool and my dogs treatment, I shocked my own neck at 75 of 120 setting Dogtra collar. It didn't hurt but made my neck spasm. I believe just as a yank from a choker whould. I'm glad i got that over with, I really didn't want to try it out but it's only fair if I'm using it on my dog.

  • I never said it was prolonged I said its cummulitive in dogs..to keep using the nick day after day can cause stress in part due to chemical release from the muscle

  • is that igor in the orange collar

  • yes thats him hes bigger than ever!!

  • will we see igor uppies

  • oh no! he was neutered a long time ago! but don't tell him he doesn't know yet!!
