I have a 66 2wd that I plan to swap with a 12 valve. How well did the engine fit, and how much fab work did it take to mount up? and what about drive line?
Very Nice..............Hope you are still looking @ the comments Cuz I have a zillion questions I would like to ask? The detail is amazing!!!!!!! Really liked the air filter...LOL bet it works }:)>
Very nice I have a 1960 stepside stick shift 3 speed I might take the motor out of my dodge After what I saw awesome can you post more videos of your truck would really help thanks
Hey man I have a 1969 FORD F-100 and I'm Fixin to get it repainted and I was wondering what color of Blue is that? If you could help me out it would mean alot, thanks bro!
Very nice swap, even though if I were to do a Cummins swap it would have to be a 12V Cummins, VE-pumped engine. What transmission are you running it? What year Cummins? 2002? Very nice!
@bigboi1245 The primary problem I face that has to do with the swap itself is electrical problems. Trying to make your system work with the donor system is complicated, especially since this is an electronically controlled motor. I've had a lot of problems with the heater control, air control, power windows and gauges. This is all due to the fact that too many things were swapped from the donor. My advice would be to use a 12 valver, and leave your trucks systems intact as much as possible.
thats a nice truck dude..but im gonna toss in my 2 cents..if i were you,id ditch the expenisive Bank$ parts for something with better flow to it,ditch the vp44(they are good pumps, but a nothing sounds better than a p-pumped 24v,and itll make enough fuel for well over 600hp),and run a different exhuast,it looks kinda ugly..make it more smooth looking, and run it just to the body,no further,no shorter...then itd be the baddest truck around ;)
@bowslinger85 I agree... banks is nothing more than overmarketed shit. I've already removed most of the banks stuff except the intake manifold. The truck now has twin stacks. I've thought a lot about going the p-pump route... I just might in a couple years when I quit driving it everyday.
@bowslinger85 It's already done retard. Why would you change it. You would be throwing money away. There's not a damn thing wrong with that truck. Infact it's all good.
Dude, you shouldn't start a deisel in the winter. The truck might shut off.How the hell did you get get a 65 deisel anyway?that must be the Argetinian version of the F-100 because the US wouldn't accept the deisel versions being sold here.
@Rabiesthecat Actually Cummins deisels are the least reliable deisel engine you can get because my dad had one and it would always break down in the winter.Probable because I live in Maryland.
you only say they are least reliable because your dad had one that had problems?? BULL, our 12v has 251K on it with no major several people I know have 211K, 321K, and 425K on their 12 and 24 Cummins, so don't give me any of that BS about it being the least reliable the new ones suck tho I don't know about the 2010 cummins as I have heard they redid the codes to run it better not every engine that comes out of the factory runs perfect, some of them are POS because of bad components
trucks on spike did something verry similar to this with a ford crew cab... nice build... did similar with a 79 bronco... body only as well and with the ole 12v... kinda nice only needing a hand full of wires to be running it
My bro has a '61 4x4 that he put a 6.9 international with a ATS Turbo into. The fuel is turned up just a little and with the ZF5 and 3:55 gears, it runs like a top. Its not near as clean and sharp as yours but a classic just the same. Loved the powerhouse 390 that came out of it but the old 6.9 has proven damn near unstopable so far
Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!! Did I say it was Awesome?
BTW, is the original '65 frame being used? I have a '64 F250 that I am considering repowering with a 6bt, but not 100% confident in the strength of the frame, considering it was designed originally for a 223ci I-6.
@adammorrison75 This has a shortened up ram2500 frame. The only original part about this truck is basically the body, engine/tranny/chassis is all Dodge. This method makes for an easy/cheap conversion with a donor truck. I'm not that excited about the Dodge chassis, but there's enough aftermarket parts to correct the few problems. From a collectors perspective this might not be the ideal way, but it makes for an awesome, reliable daily driver.
I can't take credit for the build on this one. Some guys in MO put this together over the course of several years. Unfortunately the owner had to part with it... I felt really bad buying this off him... but it is much appreciated. I'm going to start another swap this year probably.
Very nice!!!! Im just getting started on my cummins/chevy swap and I would really like to know what you done on the wiring and what injection pump did you use? The vp44 or P7100?
All the wiring is from the original truck year... even the dash gauges are from a dodge... as for the injection pump it has a vp44. I would rather have a P7100 of course but it is so complicated to swap a vp44 for a p7100 that it would be a much better alternative just to start with a 12 valve. Besides, the vp44 does have its perks because it's electrically controlled... just put in an air dog and a vp44 is just fine.
Do you have any wiring diagram's I could get from you...such as the wires I need to hook up to start the cummins ans make it run...What trans did you run?
would you sell it?

@jma25able
you are stupid.....
this is was rebuilt..the 24 valve Cummins didn't EXIST in 1965
and starting a diesel in the winter is fine.....Cummins has grids which are superior to glowplugs and get them running better.
