How can the judges say 7??? This was a beautiful piece of art, with people saying "its easy and stupid" and stuff like that, u people dont get how hard it is and i just love it and i will give it a 10, its what she deserves!!!! \(^o^)/
I think china focused more on their traditional forms of dance rather than more western dances like ballroom and the like. I really like this dance because it shows china's culture
I think china has a lot of better dancers and dances...especially from beijing dance academy. this performance is ok, i feel like the music is modernized?
i see alot of negitivity for this proforamnce, im gonna say, its not all about the daning, its about the show, proformance, culture, its so much more then techique or tricks
I agree with uninorth. There is so much more to chinese dance; the ribbon is just the tip of the iceberg. The problem is there is a cliche internationally (mainly the western countries; no offense intended) that chinese dance is all about ribbons and fans. Chinese folk dance is really technical and has lots of beautiful lines. The props just adds a little extra -amateur chinese folk dancer-
she doesn't measure up to the other soloists.. yeah i feel they could have chosen someone much better, or some different form of dance, that's more inherently impressive
I would actually like for people to attempt this 'ribbon wiggling' before they call it easy. *insert eyeroll*
Those ribbons weight a lot and I think that she did rather well. It takes skill to get patterns with the ribbons and for them not to tangle in each other.
@popiouiuyuio haha its funny how i've come back to this video after all these years and i see this on the top comments. seriously though. this dance has no substance. and for the record, i've had plenty of experience with ribbon wiggling. also! i have to ask... wheres the culture?! the music is an important cultural component in chinese dancing and all i hear is this techno crap paired with pointless dancing. maybe they did it to make it palatable to americans. what sellouts D:

.,i felt sad for her because she's a horrible dancer... Seriously, if china is going to represent their country in this kind of competition they should choose a professional dancer!!! NOT A PROFESSIONAL RIBBON WIGGLER!!!
This performance is most disappointing. I don't think this dancer can represent any dance institute that trains professional dancers of high caliber. It might be interesting to find out how she got selected to represent a nation. Simply by sheer luck I guess.
really...really....poor choice of dance...pretty much a display of "wow look how i can wiggle my ribbons!" could have had a better chinese dancer up there too.
as a chinese folk dancer, I can definitely say that there are much better versions of ribbon dance that could have been more impressive in both technique and beauty. I'm actually surprised that the China team didn't choose the classical peacock dance to start out with.
Why is everybody so harsh!!?? 7,7,7,7,8,7,7 aHHHH i can't stand it, i know it's a dance competition but the judges need to know more of the type of dance and try it sometime and need to know what to evaluate and take points for. It's not whether they like it or not, but just to know how hard it is, and the efforts it takes to make it look easy. I mostly say it because of the monk and the duet for china!!!! totally bad organized this show.Though i still like to watch it because of the dances!! ha

What a monk is doing in a so called 'professional' dance competition? She is not good at all. Trashy show. How did she got to be selected for the show to represent China. How is the selection process? She does not represent anyone professional dancers from China. She is a from a US local dance group who happen to be good at dance but definitely not good enough to represent China.
