Not to sound mean or anything, but some people bite their ear when they get bit. It works with a lot of house hold pets (dogs, cats, even ferrets). Try going to a vet clinic too, they may have some answers for you =]

They cant release them for a few of these reasons 1) it could be in another animals territory a stronger one who could kill or beat it up badly which it may not be able to fight as good because it never had to. 2) it relise on humans to feed it so it wont be able to hunt because it dont no how. 3) it might be hard to find shelter in unknown territory. 4) It will be harder to find water because it dosent no the tereitory or anything around it so they are safer and healthier were they are!!!!

yes so they dont eat people. they are in cages with plenty of space. they cannot be released to the wild for a number of reasons. it's sad but the people there are doing what they can to make them happy.

Martine Colette and the Wildlife Waystation do not do wildlife rehabilitation. They do not have a permit. They've never had a permit. They were busted by the USDA twice, Fish & Game, LA County Fire Department, LA County Health Department for over 300 violations. Animals have died because of improper care under Martine's care. She is always saying "give me money or I will euthanize them." People offered to take the animals but she refused. Don't get suckered by this con woman.

I went to the wild life waystation one time with my son. While in their office I heard a lady screaming and yelling over a radio saying rather demeaning things to somebody. I later learned that was Martine. I asked somebody in the office If that was how she treated people on a bad day. They said that this was actually a good day for her..... I would hate to see how she treats people on a bad day.

maybe i'm misunderstanding it, but i find it disturbing that after getting the animals back to health, they don't release them. they just keep them and have people sponsor this "collection" as she put it

@ichimurakun once an animal has been imprinted on humans it can not be released into the wild. Any animal that can be rehabed such as birds, coyotes, etc are. Zoo's often will not take these animals because they are declawed, defanged, etc so the Wildlife Waystation is the only home for them.

@ichimurakun I started volunteering here recently, and from what I understand these animals cannot be released for a number of reasons. Mountain lions and lions can't be released because there is no where to put them. Big cat packs already have territory everywhere and would kill any one or two animals that were released in that territory. Also, many of the chimps that were given by research facilities can't be released because unfortunately they have been injected with hepatitis, etc.
