I hope James Rolfe of the AVGN is watching this, because he's a big fan of "Godzilla" movies. How many times that the AVGN mentions "Godzilla"? All the time!
@DanZero77 If you're thinking the same dude I was, his name is Doug Paul. I myself was wondering who the dude was myself, for I grew up mainly with him as the voice of WPIX, up to the time I left LI back in '96!
Not sure why, but the dude here might be a soundalike to Mr. Paul, if not an exact dead ringer, but that's just me, as I ain't been back in the 'Land of PIX' SINCE '96... :/
What was the reason for this Godzilla marathon? Was it a promotional for a new Godzilla movie coming out? Was it Thanksgiving? (yeah, I know that Godzilla movies on Thanksgiving was WORs thing)
Ah! I thought this was more recent. Interesting they still ran these 12 years ago ... a flashback in The '90s! Now, The '90s ARE a flashback. Gettin' old, old old ...
@tvnutboy - Or at least late 1990's. No, in 1985, we would have heard either Ralph Lowenstein or Bill Biery on voiceover - and this is clearly not either of them. Plus the revived "circle 11" logo, albeit initially with "Alive" to the lower right, set in Avant Garde Medium.
Was never a huge "Godzilla" fan. I mean, liked as a kid, but wasn't crazy about it.
But still, I really miss things like this and the Creature Feature Marathons that used to air every Saturday in the 80's.
Maybe it's me, but it just seemed like TV was so much better when I was a kid in the 80's

I remember watching this particular marathon back in 98! WPIX did it for a WEEKEND, if I remember correctly, in honor of the 1998 Godzilla remake.
Glad I missed the incorrect info fallout ;)
As for the V/O, I know the guy's first name was Tom, he does V/Os for 107.3FM here in Tampa.
