  • My Macbook Pro gets warm when I play Minecraft! WTF?! Minecraft isn't even all that in graphics and yet the fan speeds up so fast.

  • Hey, i downloaded the SMCFanControl and it almost doesn't help at it all. My MacBook Pro gets warm just of playing "Touch Grind" and "Shotgun FunFun". My Mac went up to 97C just of playing simple games and i find that really disappointing.

  • Anyone know if this can Hurt the Mac cause minecraft isn't worth my Mac burning?

  • don't do this. Your mac won't automaticly adjust the fan speed when your not plug in to a charger. So your will be alot warmer when its not plugged in.

  • You sir are a fucking legend my fan wouldn't work at all but this fixed it :)

  • it didnt wokr to me..still getting hot and when its hot its getting slower..cnt even use..can u help me solve this?

    tnx.

  • or you could buy a pc.

  • @TechNewsandReviews harlenetp stole your vid just thort you would like to know

  • so whats is the avearge temperature on a macbook pro 13 inch 2011 model?

  • @TheC1c2c3c4c Obviously someone has never owned a Mac and is too bitter to admit his overwhelming desire to try one. I have two, a new desktop and a 4 year old laptop I'm using right now, which still runs like a charm. Macs crash? Who told you that? Hardware is outdated? Again where do you get this nonsense? Let me close in saying my two best friends own Windows based laptops (newer hardware then mine, both less then a year old) and my lil macbook runs circles around them.

  • @BrachiateCub outdated? have you seen the mac pro it's using xeon processors at 2.8ghz. i have my pc clocked to 4.2ghz, and i bet my custom pc can run circles around your mac. it comes with a maximum 5870 and my overclocked 6870 can run circles around it. also the windows laptops suck cause of all the bloatware, all you have to do is do a clean install and if you aren't a retard windows will work fine

  • @MrPudding28 Again, I'll say this and this is all that needs to be said. You have never owned a Mac. I've used PC's since I was 7, and continue to use them to this day. I have a right to prefer Macs because I know that Macs just, well, work.

  • @MrPudding28 I should also point out that I use Windows on my Mac often to run different video games, and it works better on here than on any PC I've ever used. Now from what I understand, you are hating on Mac because you can, not because you have a real reason to. That is just sad... If you have a nice Windows machine, that's great! I just happen to have a nice Mac, so why be so hostile about it? Let us all live by these ancient words: "Why can't we be friends, why can't we be friends..."

  • Hey when i put the fans on it gets hotter so help!

  • @CaNnEdChEeSePuFfZ Click See all then press Ctrl + F or Command + F then type his name...

  • thanks for your info. I am using macbook air 1st generation and it will always heat up and video will get laggy due to the heat whenever i watch youtube. I have already installed the smsfancontrol. What is the best setting for me? what is the ideal setting for main fan speed ?

  • @roslee7 i have a simialr problem, did iu find an answer?

  • "I'm typing this with one hand..."

  • i dont get it, my macbook pro is like brand new nd when im gaming it goes to like 76 degrees C nd like 4600 prm, can u help me out plz?

  • @biscoito500 your using a laptop to play a game unoptimized for your os, so it's going to tax the processor more and it's going to get hot.

  • thank you sooooo much man, you saved my laps from burning off!

  • a nice tip for you. instead of using utorrent you should try transmission its acctualy alot faster

  • hey dude if i use that app smc and i put the fan settings on a high speed, will that same setting work when i boot up win7 on bootcamp because when i play skyrim it kinda heats up

  • thank you, this helped a lot

  • @vibestouch1 Try to google it or start a forum on the apple website

  • Dude! AWESOME! Thanks.

  • @TheC1c2c3c4c Thumb up if your Mac did not give you a single problem since you bought it. Thumbs up if you broke your PC because Windows crashed so much you hit the computer too hard,it broke.

  • @MrHonwe lol man your a jerk... stop spamming my inbox

macs are only worth there price if you do profitable video editing... and thats because they include a editing program that would cost more for the PC equivalent, the hardware mac uses is now and always has been outdated and slower than a pc that cost half the price... and the one thing they claim to be better than the PC at is not crashing... yet they do!

i understand your all iworshipers but its facts

  • @TheC1c2c3c4c Whatever. -.- It depends.

  • @MrHonwe Yea i had a HP notebook brand new for 3 months and it froze on Windows Movie Maker and didnt save so i hit it and broke the motherboard... Then i brought a second hand MacBook for the same price as the HP and ive had it for 7-8 months now still working perfectly! only frozen once in 7-8 months!!

  • @benjas401 :D BTW, my MacBook is 3 years old and my older iBook is 7 years old. The iBook did give me problems but that was my fault.

  • @MrHonwe xD

  • @benjas401 :DD

  • @MrHonwe :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • @benjas401 (^0^)

  • @TheC1c2c3c4c What about step 3, when you get nonstop viruses?

  • @TheC1c2c3c4c How to make a hater shut up.

    Step 1: Buy a Mac.

Step 2: Keep spamming the hater with insults using your new Mac.

    Step 3: Enjoy

  • @MrHonwe how to troll a hater

  • if you set it to default will it act as if i dont have the programme open at all and continue to turn the fan on as if you dont have the programme installed? please answer

  • Thumbs up! :)

  • alright so... i downloaded the program (thank you very much :) and now its says my macbook is at 58 degrees... actually keeps changing from 56-60 at 1854rpm (keeps changing also)

what does rpm mean and are those numbers okay? or is that to hot for a laptop?

n sorry for so many comments my laptopn just makes scary noises like its gonna blow up! lol is thatjust the fans working hard? *sigh*

  • Comment removed

  • ive noticed that it happens when im on youtube playing videos... it gets so hot. to be honest right now ..... its crazy but lol i have 2 ice coolers under a glass bowl and i have my laptop on it so it can cool down a bit.. lol it stop making noises but its still hot

any idea? ive been told maybe try to have it on without the battery in, and i did and STILL makes these weird noises. im going to record these noises so someone can hear them and help me out. it will be in my Ladylibra011 channel

  • @WendyfaeArt YEAH IT WILL WORK :D

  • @WendyfaeArt Try it!

  • @undergraduateG i did .... my comp stil gets hot tho

  • You know there are so many videos of SMCFanControl, i've had it for 2 years now but all it does is tell you the temperature of your mac it won't do anything else...

  • @StuntMenLive

2 years and you still cant figure out how to use it?

  • @88dekdo Sorry i now how to use it but my macbook is late 2007 and its old so eaven with that program it won't help it

  • Thank you! Your video was EXTREMELY helpful! Thank you, SO VERY MUCH!!!

  • does this stop your battery from running low too fast?

  • mine stays constantly on 6200 rpm even if i set it to 3000. any advise?

  • This does work on an iMac, but my 27" does not over heat at all even while editing videos.

  • can you delte the program if i decide i dont want it ?

  • @HaztaUK Yes, just put it in the trash and empty the trash. Its a mac, it is that easy.

  • @NorCalExplorer do you still use this program ??

  • @HaztaUK Not really, since the cpu temp does not go above 120 f. I did use it to see if it would work under Lion 10.7 and yes it does sort of. It only increases the speed of the cpu fan when I ran it.

  • @NorCalExplorer naww its not that easy, when u drag it to the trash and empty it there's still files left behind, gotta use app zapper to completely remove all the files.

  • Macs wern't that hot anyways...

  • i have a i book g4 and idk if it will work..... so will it work?

  • it has now been 2 years since you made this video... do you still recommend this product?

  • it has now been 2 years since you made this video... do you still recommend this product?

  • What microphone do you use? sounds really good. :)

  • Thanks for the cool info mate.. I've subscribed your channel.

I still have a problem with my right fan which doesn't want to go less than 6000 rpm and the temperature of the CPU A is 81° C (168° F)..I really don't know how to make it run slower and cool down my macbook pro 2.33...any idea? thanks

  • @bivio75 when your computer is at such temperatures, i wouldnt recommend to try to lower the fans... otherwise you could cause damage to your processor for overheating... you cant lower it because the computer wont let you becuase its kinda in "self-defense". its preventing itself from overheting :)

  • @eamt10 Thank you for your reply. =) I appreciate your help. Have a nice day.

  • @bivio75 you're welcome :)

  • i already have that and it just still burns at 154F as soon as i just watch a video on youtube.

  • Is it safe for my MacBook Pro 13 inch? Don't want my laptop to die on me soon!

  • i just bought a new Imac and i run WoW on it , and it is overheating after like 1 hour, is this app gonna help my comp ?

  • what do you think is too high, i get around 60C at the hottest and im concerned itll fuck it up, please answer somebody!

  • My macbook is running at 6200 with a cooling pad while watching this video!!!!!

  • I got iMac and it work!!!!

  • my mac still gets upto 70 75 degrees when i play NEXUIZ a video game, but other than that SMC fancontrol.. put my fan level upto 3500, when it goes past the limit ive seen my fans at 6000 rpm !!

  • it seems like it takes a long time for my fans to spin down. anyone else have that problem? is this normal or is there something wrong?

  • mine stays at 000rpm, could my fan be broken?

  • could this harm my mac in anyway and if so will you tell me how far i should go with this as far as RPM

  • It work

  • Or you could just take a break good for the computer and for you :D

  • I have an old macbook '08 model and it heats up quickly. I took your advice and set the rpm to 3100. Is it safe to change the temp of the fans though? Will it like regulate the macbook internal temperature? Also can I leave it at 3100 rpm all the time? My normal rpm is about 7000 when my macbook gets really heated up.

    Thanks!

  • Or don't get a mac. :D

  • Does it damage your macbook?

  • hey I just downloaded this and i when i open it for my fan it says exhaust is that normal? I also set at 3100 rpm and it cooled down the back of my screen and but not to much the under of it any suggestions? I would really appreciate a response!! thanks

  • @notubizz its his screen recording software thats doing that so you can see where he clicks

  • if your on windows for bootcamp, you can download MacFan0_65, and it allows u to use command prompt to change the fan speed on the windows os. this only works on a mac running windows.

  • my 17 inch macbook pro is overheating so bad i made the fans running at 5500rpm and another fan on the bottom trying to cool it off but its still at 80 and above!!! im getting pissed off how it gets so hot like that.

  • yes i really like this program (smcfanconrtrol) but i saw you do is have a lot fan speed but when i was downloaded , I have only 2 speed defaul and higth speed . I don't know why ? maybe i need to for . If you know why just telling me . thank you so so much

  • my macbook is 3 years old now.. and its always on 6000rpm.. by default..

it overheats like crazy.. and that fkn warranty ended just in time..

    never buy warranty

  • thanks. on paraells desktop 6 i play section 8 prejudice and it always freezes 50 mins into gameplay becaus of over heating. thx

  • Hey, thanks for the great video. I'm a gamer who uses bootcamp, so this was very helpful. A question though: When you have your SMCFanControl set to 4000 rpm for "Gaming", do you find that the fans are excessively loud? I think that there might be something wrong with dust in my machine or fans/my fans are screwed up.

  • when i open it it just says exhust in the menu bar help!

  • At last!!!!......a workable solution. Thanks very much for the clear and logical explanation.......I was a bit concerned about the bootcamp application for SMC but you've put my at ease.

  • OKAY PEOPLE-I NEED SOME ADVICE FROM THOSE IMAC USERS OUT THERE-URGENTLY WHY IS IT THAT WITHOUT WARNING MY FANS ARE LOUD OR IS IT SOMETHING ELSE..........I TURNED THE MAC ON - FINDER, SAFARI AND ABOUT 3-6 OTHER WEBSITES-10 MINUTES OR SO LATER MY FANS ARE RUNNING PERMANENTLY-WITHOUT A BREAK-HOW DO I STOP THIS-ADJUST OR FIX IT I WANT MY QUIET IMAC AGAIN I JUST GOT THIS THING 2 WEEKS AGO-OH CRAP-I NEED ADVICE-PLEASE BE NICE I AM NEW TO IMAC-GOT SICK OF WINDOWS EXP PROBLEMS- WTF IS WRONG

  • thanks alot man. wooh this saved my macbook. unfortunately i have the 2008 model running snow leopard. got my streaming vids slowed down as hell and the bottom burning till it shuts off. i used this and set it for a few good mins and i lifted my laptop and notice it was cool! awesome.

  • You are the man..........!!!

    THANKS BRO!!!

  • thanks alot man. i just got a mac 2 weeks ago. imac to be exact. so does this really make the life of your mac last longer by keeping it cool? does this wear out your fans?

  • "Its is a FREE application!"

  • how do you get that red thing when you click the trackpad

  • thanks :D

  • nice one bro but what is the regular temp for the MacBook??

  • this is why i stick wtih the pc. apple can give you all this crap about how well it works but from my experiance i had freeze ups, heat build up, and having to just give up on it and go to PC. its nice and quiet nad runs like a charm for me. and i mean everythig i want it to do.

  • My bro plays it on my Macbook Pro 13" (unibody, 2.26 ghz SnowLeopard) 2009, what rpm setting should set it for ie: playing Starcraft2?

  • i have a imac and it heats up fast i downloaded a widget that tells me the temperature of the computer but it dose not tell you how hot your imac should be. can anyone tell me what a good temp is for this thing to be running at?

  • i have smc fan control, but it still overheats

  • thanks man!

  • what are the specs on your mac?

  • what should i set for gaming?

  • yeah good tips thank you

  • Thanks so much! i downloaded the fan program, i hope it works ok. Honestly i downloaded it earlier, unzipped the prog and couldn't figure out why it wasn't showing up as an active program anywhere- and you showd me that its in the top toolbar! lol Thanks again,

  • macs are shit my bros mac overheats all the time.

  • hey, im a first time mac user, and im really concern about this whole heat issue with the battery.

I want to avoid heat as much as possible, but everytime i charge it or use it without the battery plugged, it gets really hot. the keyboard is fine but its getting ridiculously annoying with so much heat.

Also...I have no idea where the fan is located...i dont even know if its running, and my mac is like 2 weeks old. can u help me here? thanks

  • @sigh123 i got that too with my Macbook Pro 13" (unibody, 2.26 ghz SnowLeopard) 2009, the heat is located by the top left corner of the keyboard at the ac charger pod. Incase ppl were wondering. iStat is good to view your mac information; temp, batt, network etc in a status bar and can be seen in dashboard.

  • i have a macbook, mine goes for roughly 81 centigrade and it is completely shit...all it does is just speeds up ur fan but in the end, the small speed increase is impervious to the amount of heat generated by the device itself. Had this program for over a year and does not help, still have the abrupt freezing and unfreezing which is VERY annoying and at times my screen will turn grey and then a box in the center of the screen will open up and tell me that i need to restart my macbook.

  • I got 74°C before, and 71°C after installed smcFanControl.

    Is it normall ?

  • i have my macbook at 25 degrees lol thank you

  • my from wont get off 000? how do i fix this?

  • ok when i go to preferences it gives me the choice to change the rpm for the ODD,HDD, and the CPU any suggestions what to change it too

  • I tried this but nothin happens ??

  • I have a brand new 21.5-inch: 3.06GHz (3/2010). It over heats. I just open a few programs like safari, garageband and powerpoint and the temperatures go up to 79F. Programs constantly crash. Has anyone else have had the same problem? This is my second computer within the last 3 months and they both had the same issue. I been doing research but it seem that Apple is only paying attention to the 27" iMacs which also have issues with the display. But nothing about the 21".

  • i have been seeing 185F on my new mac book pro 185F

  • my 17" old white intel imac runs at around 50 degree celsius for the cpu. Sometimes when watching hd video it goes to 60 :/ even with smc running

  • i don't think its because the HD video i think its because the probram is runing

  • I am a new mac user, Well kinda! lol Anyways my 20inch imac was running at like 130-145Deg all the time, I downloaded SMCfancontrol, Set it up, Now with it as high as it will let me put all 3 fans its at 35C & 95F fans are so loud.....I took the imac completely apart cleaned out ever spec of dust.....cleaned each fan EVERYTHING...temp will not go under 90F even in a 70deg room.......I been getting scared its going to die from the heat........Help me

  • How old is your iMac?

  • @TechNewsandReviews its a 2007 or 2008 20inch imac 2.4Ghz w/4GB ram running leopard 10.5.8

  • if he can open it then its a G5

  • @Graphicspittz187 ummmm 90 F is a completely normal temperature for a processor, they will always be hotter than room temperature, ALWAYS, unless you got really sick aftermarket cooling, that you dont need

  • @Trigger200284 Well i dont like it, i been seeing 138F i want it to be 40F ....lol
