  • no mention of creation and chemikal underground though?

  • I agree with other posters here: The Jesus and Mary Chain, Cocteau Twins (I mean even Robert Smith played with them!) and also Big Country. I mean how much more Scottish than Big Country!? First band in the world that made guitars sound like bagpipes!

  • Excellent as far as it goes, but very narrow. Lots more has happened in Scotland that doesn't come up at all. What about Fast Products / Pop Aural? This series should pretty much be titled Glasgow/ Postcard Dreamin. No Skids / Jesus & Marychain / Scars / Cocteau Twins / Arab Strap / Flowers / Fire Engines / Eurythmics .. and so on. A long list of seminal and influential music has been completely bypassed here. Much better research is required I think.

  • Sadly, no Jesus and Psychocandy... how come? I adore Franz F's first album, they realy dug it deep into Postcard on that record but everything they released later on seems to be less inspiring - just pompous... and repetitive in terms of ideas from their excellent debut. 'Do You Want To' was an infectious hit but just as annoying for being airplayed 24/7...

  • what about The Big Dish??

    River City Detectives, anyone?

  • As an scot living in Aus, thanks for posting this, much appreciated.

They missed a helluva lot bands out though.

  • Please... what is the track they play at the end?? The one played during the credits

  • Ok, if I havent post already who is this last band??!?!?!

    n00b here....

  • Tut tut. Given the way this documentary was introduced (the influence of postcard indie label) they should've looked at chemikal underground and fence collective. True scottish diy labels and ambassadors for scottish musical identity.

  • Ah, typically Politically correct bullshit from BBC. FF are English glam rockers, they have no idea what it means to be Scottish.
