Acually, on the studio version, my bass teacher and I discoverd, that the guitar and bass should be tuned a half-note up. On the record it's an F and live they are always playin it F#. try it!!!
This song is NOT in Drop D. It's in E standard, and the opening riff is an octave based on the second fret of the low E (F#). Not only is he using the incorrect tuning, he's playing the wrong notes.

well it's nice for beginners but it's not right if you take a look at the intro and the wah-part. intro is a F# power chord where you play only the octave-note and the ground,note. the wah part is F#, too but you play ground and quint-note as chord.

I don't know what the beef is, I've caught many of expertvillage's tutorials and they've all seemed pretty spot on. The instruction is good, the video quality is excellent, the sound is great (considering the compression of YT). The only "downside" to their tutorials is how short they are -- they typically cover just the main riff of a song.
Anyway, I think this is a perfectly good tutorial -- works for me. :)

Wrong wrong wrong, it's played in Eb Standard tuning. In fact a quick search on Youtube will find you of Morello himself explaining how to play this song correctly, with a lot more charisma than this guy too.

well it's nice for beginners but it's not right if you take a look at the intro and the wah-part. intro is a F# power chord where you play only the octave-note and the ground,note. the wah part is F#, too but you play ground and quint-note as chord.

everybody listen: it's not like that... the guitar is ALL tuned half a step down and the cord that tom does is an F (F# on live shows) so serch for the tabs....this guy found the hardest way to play this song...it's one of the easiest from RATM

I don't know what the beef is, I've caught many of expertvillage's tutorials and they've all seemed pretty spot on. The instruction is good, the video quality is excellent, the sound is great (considering the compression of YT). The only "downside" to their tutorials is how short they are -- they typically cover just the main riff of a song.
Anyway, I think this is a perfectly good tutorial -- works for me. :)

why the fuck is everyone hating on this guy, he´s trying to show you how to play it and he´s doing a good job...oh sure no one can play like Tom Morello but he does get the sound quite right in this video. Just listen to when he plays that riff at 2:34 it sounds just like the real version!!!!!

Wrong wrong wrong, it's played in Eb Standard tuning. In fact a quick search on Youtube will find you of Morello himself explaining how to play this song correctly, with a lot more charisma than this guy too.
