Actually, Euzhan Palcy has written the screen play. However, the production has realized financial problems. The truth in the matter is we don't want to support real life story about people of color unless it's about thugs, drugs or other...get real people have to support stories about all people, maybe we are afraid of the truth...
@Missundaztood91 I totally agree with you. They recently made a drama film about some Afrikaner woman in SA who was a great poet but had "such a sad life" according to white viewers.. they dont know what sad is and they do not know what bravery is.. that woman had more balls than I have :)
Remember, that was back in the early part of the 20th century! Americans also said Aeroplane too! My grandmother who was born in 1905 told me about when she saw her first "aeroplane" when she was 5 years old, growing up as a "colored" girl in rural Tuscaloosa County Alabama.
Thank you for posting this, it is very much needed.Bessie Coleman is truly an inspiration.
The first time I heard of her and saw her story on tv; I was shocked and delighted. I'm a black young american woman; and I needed know Bessie's story.
The Cherokee indian nation is proud of her too as her dad was Cherokee

Bessie Coleman's life story should be a film. Come on Will Smith, you have the means to produce this biopic. It's unlikely white Hollywood will.

It's weird to hear an American pronounce that like a Brit. "AirOplane"
