I love George...saw him in Chicago a few years back...tight band, great vibe. But some people don't seem to realize this is a CLASSIC Elmore James tune. Come on people...jeez. This is Blues/Rock history 101. Get educated (no offense - I'm drinking). By the way, I just posted a very cool, raw blues song on my channel called "Underground," by Rosetta West. Check it out.
this song is about Madison dr in Newark De.i 've had the unfortunate pleasure of having been a resident of Madison Dr where its safer to walk in the alley than on the street. happy to say i no longer have the madison blues!
@TheManolakis Actually, I doubt it. Since Elmore James was originally from Miss, I believe the song was named after Madison, Miss. There is even a whole county in mIss with the same name. Although, it is also possible he named this sang after Madisn Wisconsin because EJ moved north to Chicago - a hop-skip-jump from Madison Wis. Many other bues musicians from that era also migrated to St louis, and then later Chicago. Hence the name "Chicago Blues."
This is rear-end kicking rock & roll!!! Does anyone hear a resemblence to the Virtues "Guitar Boogie Shuffle?" I believe in they did G.B.S. in1959. I liked it then & I like this version. George plays with a vengeance. Why his instrument doesn't self destruct is beyond me! I have a nifty little rag-top with a 500 watt sound system & I do crank this one up! Aren't I supposed to????
that's funny to see the two old cars mention in the comments below, i was driving around to this, thinking how great it would be to pump this in a 50 something chevy....
i've listened to a decent amount of thorogood in my life, but have recently fell in LOVE with this song....heard it for the first time the other day...wow its great. this and delaware slide!
Excellent!!!!!

I was raised listening to this. I remember when I was four or five, roling around on the kitchen floor air-guitaring to this song. :)
