Jace is definitely a new favorite of mine. Just love how distinct sounding his voice is. There's an underlying darkness about his sound which i find intriguing as well,

@Dogote82 Hopefully the radio will catch onto the primal sound of stuff like this and chris issak, gaslight anthem, etc. That whole sound goes straight back to the sensual, raw primitive sounds of the 50s and 60s and doesnt sound like the overproduced crap on country and rock radio nowdays.
@w4wxp i can only hope. radio is my last resort these days. i stick with pandora or slacker radio just so i CAN hear this kind of stuff.
I'd say Jace has a little bit of a darker edge to the genre but its a good edge. when i first heard the theme to True Blood i had to pause the movie so i could find the singer lol a voice as good as his deserves to be heard by all! i'll have to look up gaslight anthem. but i've always been a Chris Isaak fan, but sadly they only play the same ol stuff :/
@w4wxp Gaslight Anthem is more of a rock band, but they're heavily influenced by Springsteen as well as a lot of 60's soul and 50's rockabilly....very unique sound and their lyricwriting is absolutely genius.
This is a new record, released in 2009. His first record was on the Sony label (2005), and his second record is with an indie: Weston Boys. The first is a country record, and this one is more rock--though "Little Black Dress" has a country sound to it.
Another song from Red Revelations -- "Damned If I Do" -- is going to be on the next installment of True Blood, on Sunday.
