Oh come on, that's why it's called comedy. And they weren't offensive. To those that are offended anyway, I simply ask this, do you think it's a good thing to avoid even mentioning someone like Hitler? Doesn't that make him look like the Boogeyman? The silent terror hidden around the corner? You may not see him but he's still there. He did exist. Making GOOD fun of something funny makes me at least less scared. He was human after all.

The Director has no say what goes on the show, he's as much governed by the same laws as the actors, producers and TV networks. US TV censorship is retarded, which is why most US TV sucks, and leaves Americans brainless.

i believe the story was as the whose line was improvised and no script could be given to the censor in advance , he was in the directors box and would censor as the recording took place . thats what you saw happen over Bill Cosby and Hitler

@ppppdmt I don't know if the Hitler incident was the last straw (not even sure if it happened in the last season), but I do know the cast members were very frustrated with the censor overanalyzing every line they made up. Eventually the network was unhappy with the cast. Low rating was the reason the show got canceled, but the network never promote the show and just put them up against Friends.Is't not the cast's fault.
