  • "Like" Jesse Nolan on Facebook!

  • very nice

  • The related video, "Charlie Brown - Rain, Rain Go Away," shows where this music was used in the cartoon. Love the music, so I clipped the applied version for reference.

I know you chose out of the Guaraldi compositions that had the strongest "trad" possibilities so I'll respect your decision there. Vince's solo on "Charlie Brown Theme" lends itself perfectly to large ensemble, doesn't it? (Alot of his solos are built like bigband passages anyway, like on "Frieda").

Vince and everyone sends their love, Jesse!

Comments are on "Rain" because this is one of my favorite Guaraldi pieces, and I've been wanting to hear this one orchestrated for a long time. This one stands handsomely next to the Richard Williams arrangement on the CHARLIE BROWN SUITE CD.

  • YEAAHHHHH!!!!

Great effort at re-energizing Vince Guaraldi's original jazz compositions! I'm going to vote directionwise for your taking a creative risk on "Thanksgiving Theme."

I'm also going to say that you did everything just about right and something awful to alot of us at the same time: at this rate Chuck's team might WIN a game, and we'll all LOSE the Charlie Brown dream ;-)

  • This is lovely! I play it on the piano, but on the (vibraphone?) it's great and very impressive. :-)
