  • I don't know how many random posts I have seen where DR is trashing fixed gear riders, but what the heck, at least he is doing it on his own channel. What a narcissistic, bitter egotistical dick. Why not trash unicycles, golf pull carts, wheel barrels, cruisers, harley's, tricycles, razors, bmx or wheel chairs....dick

  • I think you put far too much faith in other road users. Do you drive at all? I think you should take a few lessons if you don't, to see things from the car drivers point of view.

  • Damn dude, Thailand doesn't look too cycling friendly.

  • if you were to ride like that around here where i live, someone would deliberately knock off off your bike

  • @inthemoviecorners Fuck your area. Haha.

  • great vid, reminds me of my days bike messengering.

  • damn, that had my blood pumpin

  • I just got into biking about 3 weeks ago and my first bike is a fixed gear. However, it has brakes and you're right about the uphill sucking like no other. I want to save up for a 10speed because fixed gears are only good for hipsters or flat ground areas.

  • u should try training in Jakarta's peak traffic :D Bangkok's traffic are lot less dense than Jakarta :)

  • You won't be able to do that anymore - unless you use a paddleboat of course!

  • Bangkok is one of the last cities in the world where I'd be doing that. Keep it up, you won't be around long.

  • Hey Harley i gotta say, you got balls riding your bike in Thailand dude those Asians are crazy drivers!

  • You make biking look so fun I have finally got my bike out of the garage, now all I have to do is fix it!!

  • Can't be good breathing in all that exhaust at such a high rate for so long... Riders get over 3x the amount of carbon intake compared to someone walking on the sidewalk.

  • Peak traffic is the ultimate training time! I love flying past cars, bikes and people when I am wearing my organic athlete kit!

  • Seeing cyclists is harder than seeing vehicles. You might not be stressed zooming around like you do but i bet you put stress on others.

  • @67sunshine89 One can only stress oneself.

  • Ballz of steel! Respect bro!

  • I wouldn't dare do this in a Asian country lol your brave =]

  • fixed gear?

  • @lehman I will ride a fixed gear when I want to spend lots of money on new rear tyres, fuck up my knees, drop my fitness and run on adrenaline whilst riding in traffic or go up hills really slowly.

I like to ride hard and fast and smart. Fixed gears on the road dont allow this.

  • @durianriders haha come on harley! i have lots of money for rear tires... so i dont care. im a fruit powered rider. how do you fuck up your knees? and i go up hills really fast.... but i have a small chainwheel. so yeah top speed is not too high....

i do want a geared bike tho so i can do more than 50 miles a day... hopefully faster too. on the bike trails the guys with those nice carbon framed geared bikes literally FLY right by me....

  • @durianriders Hmmmm. Run a brake, tire problem: fixed. Run a brake, knee problem: fixed. Ride a respectable gear ratio and ride like how you ride a road bike, fitness: maintained. Stop being a retard because riding a fixed gear does not limit your ability to climb hills, hills: no prob.

  • NIGHTRIDER!

  • omg looks like so much fun!

  • never ending exhaust fumes must be great for the lungs. why don't you just go outside the city during the day?

  • Where is this?

  • I've been checking out your videos. I'm curious about the b12. What's that all about?

  • did you speed up the video..im sure you did :)

    anyway, stay safe my friend..

  • Fixed gear? I thought you were not a fan because they can be hard on the knees. I hate fixed gear bikes but maybe it's an aquired strength lol.

  • @MrJaredleach is the title just for fun?

  • @MrJaredleach I would NEVER ride a fixed gear in traffic. I was just using having fun with the title.

  • @MrJaredleach HATE FIX GEAR? i love my fix gear. hard on the knees? than work on your knees. i do 50 mile rides to the beach and back and never once felt it in my knees. legs... now thats another story. sore as fuck...

  • badass :) go vegan/ 8/1/1

  • What is the purpose of fixed gear again?

  • @astronautagogo The purpose of fixed gear is to fuck up your knees, waste tyres by skidding, have no brakes so when you crash whilst your riding and smoking, you look like a cool hipster.

Fixed gears are great on velodrome though.

  • @durianriders I read a fixed gear everyday of my life I live in oswego New York. It snows here a lot

a fixed is the only bike that will do this day in and day out. It doesn't hurt your knees have you ever read Sheldon's post about it? also I've never bought a new set of tires all I do climb in the dumpster behind the bike shop there's tons of perfectly good tires that roadies are too scared to use or they don't want mismatch tires.lol

  • @durianriders

    1) Skidding can strengthen muscles in the knees

    2) Having a lower gear ratio will make skidding easier and will be easier on your knees.

    3) Most of us are not "cool hipsters". Some posers use a fixie as a fashion statement but most of us just love riding.

  • @astronautagogo I think that "style" is the only purpose of fixed gear bikes.

  • you ride like my son.

  • omg

  • @ dojaguy ,I thought I was the Fixie guy on his page!

  • @ dojaguy hey, i

  • Like! A lot! Where did you affix your camera,D? Is it a flip?

  • FIXED GEAR MY ASS HARLEY! IM THE FIXED GEAR RIDER ON YOUR PAGE! AND I HEARD YOUR FREEWHEEL!

  • crazy farang!

  • Be carefull though. This world needs you...

  • Hardcore street riding. Awsome

  • pretty pimp

  • Hey Harley, could you please do a vid on how to chose a good race bike? I haven't had a bike for the last maybe 15 years. I'd like to take up cycling again and would love to buy a race bike. There are so many out there I am totally lost. How much should I spend? Should I go for a ladies race bike or a gents (I am female)? What is the right frame size (1.70m)? Should I be concerned about what brands to chose for gears? Carbon or aluminum frame?

Would appreciate your help with this.

    Cheers

  • reminds me of the times I would fly through traffic in India on a motor cycle. It's safer than it looks. People are used to cycles weaving in and out around them.

  • Wow this looks like a crazy video game. Lets see how long it takes for you to get splattered.

  • Sweeeet

  • sheesh...and I thought L.A. drivers were bad! Much respect! I sustained an injury on a movie set, required double knee surgery, just now getting back on my Bianchi (lovin' the bamboo bike btw). Not ready to do any century rides again...just yet...but on the way! Been a few years raw and dropped 70 pounds, I'm doing much better after switching to fruit! What specific training would you suggest for gradually strengthening the muscles that support the knees? Thanks for the motivation bro! -Annette

  • Nice maneuvering, man. The cycling vids are always great.

  • Harley, you crazy man. If the typhoon and floods didn't get you, the pollution and traffic will. Get yourself outta Bangkok. Chang Mai is nice this time of year.

  • Reminds me of the times I did this in Shenzhen. =)

  • Cough,cough

  • That looks really dangerous...most of those drivers probably didn't see you at all...one sudden move & it would have been all over. Hate to lose you, man!

  • @pinetree909 If you saw in his other video he has a gadget that constantly project light that he puts on the back on his helmet. This makes him far more visible. Harley isn't dumb enough to work on his health then risk his life while cycling.

  • @pinetree909 2012

    duck it

  • Harley, What head light are you using?

  • @Loolytoo Its a Nite Flux Pmini. One of the brightest lights on the market today. The rear light is the Nite Flux Red Zone 4. Its the brightest rear light period.

  • @durianriders Do you have the Garmin for this ride?

  • I would never be ballsy enough to ride like that in traffic!

  • Thumbs up if you were moving your body and knees while watching this video to avoid the cars...I was

  • @BurnTheSofa i was cocking my head to the side unconsciously trying to look around the cars lol
