the cummins is a truely amazing engine.. but for all of you talking bad about ford, these trucks aren't made to pull 50,000 pound sleds. they are made to do work day in and day out, and that's why you see mainly ford's on construction sites and with people that need a truck to last. the main reason cummins are so popular with sled pulling is because you can get wayyyy more fuel to it much easier than ford's fuel system.

I have to agree cummins is great, but the transmission if its an automatic, you might as well go put a custom one in or a manual from the start thats what i had to do because it shredded pulling a gooseneck with 14000lbs on it, (probably a little over loaded, but still)
cummins are fine with a manual but their autos are trash my friend had a 3500 with a cummins and 10,000 miles it would go out of 2nd gear (plastic gears WTF Dodge)
actually, if it had the best it would have spun the tires, this video just boils down to be a very good puller, full power off the line does nothing but dig ruts, you need to wait 25 to 35 feet to really get into the throttle to make your tires clean themselves, that is why they call them "slipper clutches" it is not just in or out like factory, you can "slip" them to keep rpm's up so when you remove your foot the engine is already running at reline and max boost. hats off to this driver :-)
@AstroTAC go have a look at the video.. "why not to buy a duramax" and you will see the huge issues with buying chevys.. not to mention the alluminum heads that cant disperse heat like cast iron

the cummins is a truely amazing engine.. but for all of you talking bad about ford, these trucks aren't made to pull 50,000 pound sleds. they are made to do work day in and day out, and that's why you see mainly ford's on construction sites and with people that need a truck to last. the main reason cummins are so popular with sled pulling is because you can get wayyyy more fuel to it much easier than ford's fuel system.

Someone knows how to work the clutch write.
And i did some heavy research in the new 6.7L powerjoke and i found plenty of problems with it just be reading the specks.
Tip for scorpion, don't use aluminum heads, on any diesel.

hahaha, you read through all the specs and found plenty of problems... that made me laugh damn hard. you do know that diesel engineers designed that engine right? people who are experts in the field very much unlike yourself. they would not oversight by any means something that you just picked up reading the specs. don't hate on whats going to be one of the top if not the top diesel engine out there.

I have to agree cummins is great, but the transmission if its an automatic, you might as well go put a custom one in or a manual from the start thats what i had to do because it shredded pulling a gooseneck with 14000lbs on it, (probably a little over loaded, but still)

actually, if it had the best it would have spun the tires, this video just boils down to be a very good puller, full power off the line does nothing but dig ruts, you need to wait 25 to 35 feet to really get into the throttle to make your tires clean themselves, that is why they call them "slipper clutches" it is not just in or out like factory, you can "slip" them to keep rpm's up so when you remove your foot the engine is already running at reline and max boost. hats off to this driver :-)
