KOF XIII (13) coming this October on 360 and PS3 is what this game was supposed to be like... finally an end to the "Ash-saga"/storyline that began in KOF 2003, more characters, more modes etc.

I recommend everybody wait for that game!

This feels more like a "test" for the new graphics engine, nothing but a simple arcade-mode and versus mode, very small selection of characters compared to other games in the series, without any kind of story/endings (which are actually pretty good in KOF) etc.

Looks good though it seems that 12 and 13 doesn't get that much attention from both Eastern and Western part of the world. I remember going to arcade center when I was in Japan and literally there was no one playing this game. Everyone played BB, guilty gears, arcana hearts SF 4 etc... but KOF was just collecting dust...

Bah this one was alright like the graphic & the quality but huge disappointment due to my fav team not in this, arcade lame, no rival, and no unlockables. But not a total lost for XIII is coming, my fav team is back and rivals & bosses has return. And XIII will totally own Xii :)

Let me be honest. I played KOF XII and I have to say I'm pretty disappointed. I cranked the difficulty to its hardest and knocked everyone on their asses, I didn't even commit the button combos to my memory and I expected to be raped with no KY lube. I expected a friggin challenge...not only did I not get that, I come to find that half the characters I loved went bye-bye. Well, at least the graphics caught me in a good way.

The only real thing to worry about is kicking some serious tail.. in these games...

Only reason you'd be bothered in style at which you kick their ass is if you're scored for it (I think capcom vs snk did a A~D ranking system on move's or blazblue distortion finishes etc) how he plays the game doesn't matter aslong as you get an idea of how the game plays :)

Ppl are still forgetting this is not a production of the original SNK team. It's gaymoar to blame. The reason of why 2002 um and 98 um are the best games is because gaymoar only did a remake on them, the core essence of these games was created by the original snk team. Gaymoar is just improving graphics and downgrading gameplay. It would've been fine if they had only improved graphics and mantained original gameplay. Compare GG accent core plus and Jizzblue. Damn n00b friendly games of the now.

By biggest issue with the game was the lack of the combo complexity, and just pure number of moves per character of the previous KOF releases. XII lacked character fight introductions, and a pitiful roster list compaired to previous KOFs. The Difficulty was nothing like '98 or '02 for example, if you put those games on normal it is difficult to get past the 3rd fight, vs when I played XII I could put it on hard and still could breeze right thought the game.

#1 - it's not hand-drawn, anyone can see that.

#2 - GGX is way more detailed and older.

but hey, this looks pretty good. Nice to see makers are still doing 2D unlike Disney which has embraced that Toy Story crap renders for every movie. I prefer the detail of 2D in its artistic lines. In fact at the Legends of the Guardians - which was an amazing 3D work of art - they had a Road Runner cartoon from WB at the beginning... in 3D. Eh, I just didn't get into it. I really just love good 2D art.
