  • I loved the color options on the GS500F's, but I've heard really lackluster reviews and sitting on it wasn't as comfortable as the Ninja 500. The Ninja was also lighter, narrower, and more nimble. I kinda disliked the gauges connected to the bars. Went with the Ninja.

  • Why aren't there any Hondas on your list?

  • @charliesmaster Simple, no good honda dealers.

  • I've watched this video three times, all by coincidence, and just noticed your COB shirt. My favorite band

  • @wotanzorz I havn't been able to get behind their last two albums.

  • @steelhorseclub I like their latest though, it sounds way more old school than their recent stuff

  • i honestly dnt like it i think itz tacky

  • Which bike did you end up with? I've heard good things about the GS500f, not quite as fast as the Ninja 500, but a whole lot better on gas. Plus has the rep of being easy to correct beginner errors, and reliable as well.

  • @justklsi You should keep watching my vids and find out.;p

  • damm the silver on looks nice lol , - when u first r looking at the bikes

  • best shirt ever.

  • What you see on the left side of the bike behind the foot peg is the center stand kick and on the right side the passenger foot peg is down.

  • i love bodom!!!!!

  • Ugly bike.

  • i can see why it cant sell its just ugly right

  • its rear brack

  • nop, rear brake is always on right side (when ur sitting on the bike) that looks like main stand pedal or gear shift down

  • I think you should consider another option: the yamaha XJ6 and XJ6 diversion are easy for the beginners, fun for the average rider and smooth but revvy engine for everyday use.

  • the pedal at 2:55 is the center stand kick

  • Can someone tell me what that 3rd pedal is for at 2:55? Behind the left peg, where the riders heel would be if his foot were resting on the peg.

  • adoniscomplex: isn't that the centre stand kick down peg? i maybe wrong but looks like it.

hey steelhorse, brand new subsriber and just want to say very good quality vids and very informative. i'll be glued to my seat now watching all yr vids. nicely labelled and laid out so were not searching all over the place for the next vid in a series. :)

  • Its a passenger foot rest, not a pedal

  • actual you are wrong. its a dual clutch. so he can use his heel or toe to shift. usual easier for downshifting. my dads got one on his harley :D

  • @dalele27 Nope you're wong..its a centerstand.. :P

  • great man!!!

this really is the only reasonable choice for starters...I mean it is good for commuting, has windscreen for some shorter tours, and also has power to bring you some happy moments...

One very important reason for me was its displacement, 500cc, cause taxes in my country goes:

    50euros- 50cc

    75euros- 50cc-125cc

    90euros 125-250cc

    and 130euros for 250cc-500cc bikes...

all after that gets extremely expensive, like 230euros for over 500cc...that is insane...

  • great vid, i want 1 so badly!! 4 grand isnt bad

  • lol i think walkarounds are kewl too

not to many good in depth ones though

  • Nothing wrong with the GS 500. It's a simple, economical, very satisfying bike to own, especially if you commute on it. It doesn't sell well because everyone wants the fastest high tech bike on the block. It can't run with Ninjas and GSX-R's. It's 20 year old technology. The benefit is low cost to own. It handles as good as anything, it just doesn't have the hp of today's liquid-cooled sport bikes.

  • u shoulda bought the suzuki well actually the ninja is a better starter bike I guess I found the gear video DUH!!!

  • i think a 650 or a 500 is a good way to go 250 might be too little but 600 supersports are too much for a beginner

  • actually 600's are not too much for a beginner...just like djcipsterforbreaks, i got a gsxr600 for my first bike last spring and i havent even come close to crashing..its all about self control and knowing your limits.

  • cool thanks.

  • The GS500 is an good 1st or 2nd bike. It have a very reliable engine and Suzuki have been making it since 1989 so spare parts of plentiful if you need them. I ride one so if you have any more questions I'd be happy to answer them. I think the reason the salesmen was eager to let the bike go is because the GS500 isn't a profitable bike for dealers and they much rather fill floor space with flashy GSXers.

  • sorry the 600p7f

  • HA, we'll see. Trust me I have been looking everywhere, I live in north louisiana and most second hand bikes I have found are hundreds of miles away. I don't think I am as crazy as you and can drive it back all the way. lol. The shops around here have a pretty good selection of new and used. Monday I am going to post a video looking at the Ninja

    zx600f.
