well, I must agree, with you on that, I think it should be experienced first hand, and yes I have driven a ZR1, its far from an underperforming, poorly made American car, it is far superior to its older brothers. Also on the earlier post, the older GT was a very nice piece of machinery, although I personally have never experienced one myself, I've only heard good things, I wouldnt say that the GT is superior to the ZR1, more like compairable, if anything, the ZR1 would hold an edge over the GT

@rob2049 the corvette is a fantastic handling car. Like all cars, it can get you into trouble if you don't know what your doing. Handling issues are not always a function of vehicle engineering, its-most of the time- a function of driver inputs. Its not a dinosaur.... its a shifter-kart with doors and a v8. Its easy to drive hard and corners great. Its responsive. It lets you play with, and correct, weight-transfer issues. It wont bite your face off... but it might take a finger or two.

@bill06gto You dont need more power! This is the same way GM sees it, more power, ignoring other factors that are outdated. It corners like a shed, its very difficult to drive, you will be exhaiusted. Power to weight ratio is the key, which GM does not understand, making bigger engines and forgetting the rest. Engine is amazing, showing the world that all money to develp this car goes under the hood. Basically beautyful engine on a go cart

For all those who say the Corvette isn't practical. Hows this for practical... The other day I was out golfing and I had to take my buddies' clubs back with me. That's three sets of clubs, the next day I was re-staining my deck so i picked up a 130 pound deck sander. Find me ANY other sports car that can do that and perform as well as the Corvette, then Ill agree with you. And sure you cant drive it in the winter, so go buy an F150 and stop complaining. Sorry, I READ WHAT GM LISTED AS THE WEIGHT AND ITS 497lbs, with some people saying the Ls2 weighs about 10-15 lighter than the LS1, WHICH IS NO WHERE CLOSE TO 418lbs.
The Ls9 and Vr38 weigh nearly the same and is a better comparison, FOR OBVIOUS REASONS that children like you probably WONT understand.

the z06 carbon is a better buy then the zr1 but the zr1 looks better imo but is it worth the money? i think not especially considering the tuning possibilities of a 7L v8 and weight difference
@pktillidie The new camaros actually have an LS3/L99. The LS3 and LS9 have the same displacement (6.2L) The LS9 is pretty much a heavily modifies LS3 fitted with a water-cooled supercharger. The LS3 puts out a little over 400hp while the LS9 makes over 600hp!! Lots more go faaaasssst
@pktillidie btw...The LS3 is only available in the ss or rs/ss camaros. The LS9 is only available in the ZR1 corvette. LS3's are also put in the regular c7 corvettes.

The corvette handling is in the supercar range, it has multiple option for driving control, magnetic adjustable shocks and an almost 51/49 split in weigh, if you could afford one which most hard working people can do, then you would understand. It corners like a shed, its very difficult to drive, you will be exhaiusted. Power to weight ratio is the key, which GM does not understand, making bigger engines and forgetting the rest. Engine is amazing, showing the world that all money to develp this car goes under the hood. Basically beautyful engine on a go cart

For all those who say the Corvette isn't practical. Hows this for practical... The other day I was out golfing and I had to take my buddies' clubs back with me. That's three sets of clubs, the next day I was re-staining my deck so i picked up a 130 pound deck sander. Find me ANY other sports car that can do that and perform as well as the Corvette, then Ill agree with you. And sure you cant drive it in the winter, so go buy an F150 and stop complaining. Ill keep my Corvette thank you very much

@sirlonghair NO actual the LS block has not done over 1700hp, and that is resleeved, the Iron version of these blocks COULD but then its not really a LS block now is it.
Sorry, I READ WHAT GM LISTED AS THE WEIGHT AND ITS 497lbs, with some people saying the Ls2 weighs about 10-15 lighter than the LS1, WHICH IS NO WHERE CLOSE TO 418lbs.
The Ls9 and Vr38 weigh nearly the same and is a better comparison, FOR OBVIOUS REASONS that children like you probably WONT understand.

the traction controle is NOT usable as a launch control in a gt-R and is not covered if not used as recomended and that is as a traction situation like mud or snow if used on dry pavment VOID warenty

@pktillidie The new camaros actually have an LS3/L99. The LS3 and LS9 have the same displacement (6.2L) The LS9 is pretty much a heavily modifies LS3 fitted with a water-cooled supercharger. The LS3 puts out a little over 400hp while the LS9 makes over 600hp!! Lots more go faaaasssst

Why can't the Japanese and American car fans team up against the European?
I'm a HUGE JDM fan but I have to admit the Corvette is such a nice car. It's got to be THE car from USA. Both the Japanese and the American cars give you equal if not more than what the Europeans give for half the price, only the execution is different.
Don't hate if you love fine cars. Respect the GTR, respect the Corvette, they're both great cars.
