The first recording I heard this song was by Rodena Preston & the Voices of Deliverance back around 1975/1976. The album title was "There's Been a Change".
@feaqs The first recording to my understanding was by Maceo Woods & Christian Tabernacle of Chicago around 1970 but i have a version of Detroit's New Bethel Baptist Church Choirs (Aretha's church) singing this from the early 60's on their radio broadcast.
Step by step, day by day, I'm climbing higner and higher. The words of this song walks me closer to my heavenly reward. Praise God! I will see my maker and my love ones, YES I'll be home someday.
Tenors: We are climbing higher and higher, Alto: day by day getting closer to our Lord.
Soprano: With the Lord as our leader, our guide and our keeper, I'll get home someday thank God get home someday.
Yes I'll make it home some day I know I'll make it. Yes I'll make it home someday I know I'll make it. I know I'll make it. Some how I got to make it. With the Lord as our leader our guide and our keeper, I'll get home someday thank God get home someday.
when was this? Thanks marcell for uploading again.keep them coming please. Also let me know if you know any way that i can get some of shields of faith choir music. thank you and god bless you.
