I find it ironic that the song "Adrift and at peace" has the sound of buzzing flies, reminding one of rot and decay, as it's ending, and "The Persistence of Loss" has sounds of birds chirping and a slow but uplifting melody to it.

I agree w/you the instrumentals that nin has come up are so avante garde. Refreshing, and not sober if you get my drift. There is a certain sadness in them. One that comes from a lost childhood or lost love whether human or other; but lost. Always lost; but a hint of happiness if not corrupted by aging memory.

I've liked everything NIN has produced despite The Slip and The Fragile [Right]. The Fragile [Left] is stunning, yet Right sounds a bit sloppy...only my opinion. I really hope Trent [at least] continues to make solo stuff...I can live with the fact that NIN stopped touring...but Trent ain't that old!!! He can still produce music....I really hope he does. Now I'm stoked.
