  • Everyone misses an important first step (Important when there is wind - which is why you capsize for real!):

Once you're in the water, start by holding the bow line (painter) and your body will act like a sea anchor and get the bow pointed into the wind for you (instead of swimming it around by the dagger board). On a bigger boat in heavy air & rough seas, it's sometimes the only way that reliably works.

Let the wind do the work for you.

  • seems like he did it on purpose. should have been on the high side.

  • stupid video.

  • where is this?

  • how much stuff did he lose i lost my 2 year old mottor it was filled with water

  • he had it coming he was siting on the wrong side

  • You should really read the information about this video before saying things like this. This video was taken FOR me to show me how to handle a capsize. I.E this capsize was man-made. The wind took no park in this.

  • wasn't in the description!

  • so how could i reed it!

  • @jj22oo yeah he did have it coming plus that old guy looks like a faggot anyways.

  • haha yeah. air bubble's are scary. :p i just love to dry capsize the whole time. (: or sometimes, if we have a group of friends, we all go out on hunters and play pirates! :D

  • Umm ok.

  • haha its so fun to tutle, becuase you can go under the boat into the air bubble and put the daggerboard up :]

  • Hahaha. My dad and I turtled this boat twice. The second time we turtled it the boat actually had me inside of the air bubble. Scared the crap out of me.

  • he did it well, without having to get into the water

  • Yeah, it's easier when the wind is stronger.

  • for me its not omega... its 420 or 470 i guess

  • You must not know sailboats then. It's cleary an omega. GOOGLE IT dumb shit

  • My first capsize was sailing solo, I just knew the theory of recovering the boat and every one was watching on the beach, but I got it right.

  • Congrats on your first capsize!

When my dad and I were capsizing people at the shore were screaming, they thought we were in serious danger.

  • The winds were pathetic that day. Besides, my dad was showing me step by step SLOWLY how to do it.

  • @DefiantBlueEyes

Looked like a warm day: just right for a capsize.

  • good capsize, could be faster tho
