People in 2011 would be laughing at this video. Manning is now the better QB than Rivers, Merriman is basically done, Kaeding has lost three playoff games for the Chargers, and what people completely overlook is that the Giants used the money they didn't have to pay draft picks to get Burress, McKenzie and Pierce in free agency a month later--all staples in the superbowl victory. Eight years later, Rivers hasn't been to the superbowl, and it looks like he never will.

Phil Rivers is good but c'mon, the Giants clearly got the better of the deal. And as for Nate Kaeding, how many kicks has that guy missed in big games? 2004 AFC Wild Card Game against the Jets, 2006 AFC Divisional Game against the Patriots and on more time against the Jets in the 2009 AFC Divisional Game (all have been in San Diego by the way). The Chargers have been a very good franchise over the years but the G-Men clearly got the better of them in this draft.

Kaeding is good but he's hurt and he's a kicker... Rivers has struggled heavily this year and the Chargers championship title window has closed fast. Eli has gotten better and better and is now Eli-te. He didn't win the Super Bowl all by himself, but you can't name someone's whose won it all by themselves-Saltiness won't do ya any good

The Chargers won this deal... Eli Manning Does not have as good numbers as Rivers. If the Chargers never Traded Eli he would have held out, and he would have re-entered the the 2005 draft. then the chargers would have lost thier 1st overall pick... if rivers ran the giants pass offense lets see if he would have similar stats. google Streak and Read Principle. everyone knows the west coast, air coryell but very few teams run the streak and read because its too much for a qb to handle and too much decision making for the players. also rivers plays in the afc west, from 06-09 the raiders, chiefs and broncos haven't been at their best and he plays in san diego. against the jets they said rivers would have a good game because it wasn't windy.

lets see under espn new QBR rating not PASSER ratings eli was actually ranked higher than rivers in 2010. for 2011 whose higher in both categories? eli with new wrs and te. teams are finally figuring out norvs basic offense and its not just the good teams but the bad teams as well. when norv was the O.C. in dallas the same thing happened. chargers wr/te run single routes if its covered rivers checks it down which pads passer ratings and makes it easier for a qb to run the offense.-------------

@zDallasCowboys008z what kind cowboy fan are you post 07? in 07 the giants D only clicked in the playoffs and was avg in the regular season. the giants in SB42 played small ball look at the time of possession difference. it was the same blueprint the giants used against the bills in SB25 and the patriots against the rams in 02. the giants D did they're job minimizing damage by the patriots O but the QB still had to march down the field against a team that was 18-0. lets see romo do that.
