We battled with the idea of doing a "THEMED" hotel, but for the life of me, I couldn't see paying the extra cost for something we weren't going be at other than sleeping. Folks! Listen to me...what are you even going to Disney for? To spend half/whole day at the hotel...or to take advantage of the reason you even went, DISNEY PARKS..I saved $500 by not booking a value Disney resort..let alone a moderate or Deluxe.Just didn't make sense to me..So before U book, think about that.
@Wayneman117 well your right about only being there while sleeping, but by staying at a Disney resort, you get many benefits including, discounted dining, free shuttle service, and the ability to stay 3 hours longer in the parks at night, or 1 hour earlier in the morning. It may cost you a little more, but in the end its worth the money.
@mjpugh123 Actually, in all honesty, it probably won't cost you any more. We have stayed at Pop Century on two separate trips, and we have found that there is very little price difference between staying offsite at a hotel versus staying onsite at one of the valu resorts at Disney.
I stayed at Pop Century during my trip in October of 2010 and I would definitely stay there every time! Very friendly staff, very clean, and very comfortable beds! It made my stay perfect!!
We've stayed here at POP two times. The first time,we stayed in the 50's section. The second time we stayed in the 70's section.Loved both. This is the best of all of the value resorts, hands down. The lobby area with the glass cases representing each decade is cool.I remember tons of stuff in those cases. We've stayed in all of the Allstar resorts and we like POP best. The food court is great, but also is allstar music's food court too.Anyway, this is probably where we'll stay again.
i was gonna stay at the all star music like we've been doing for years but then we heard about this place so we thought we'd give it a try i cant wait im going in like 30 days!
@cheerleaderstar95 LUCKY!!!!!!!! i stayed at that hotel last year when i went to disney world. ITS AN AWESOME RESORT!!!!!!!!!!!! Have fun!! remember to go to animal kingdom they have the awesomest roller coaster its called expedition everest.
I didn't stay at the value resorts, but your dead on about the food. Unless you hit one of the pricier restaurants your eating fried food for lunch and dinner. By the 3rd day there I was willing to eat anything as long as it wasn't a burger and didn't come with fries.
The problem with the higher price restaurants though is the price. We ate at the buffet at Animal Kingdom lodge. $120 for dinner for 2 adults and 1 child after the tip. Needless to say, that only happened once.
@xxocheerxxo i went there 5 years ago and im going again on july 18th and it's FUN. the game room is cool. and all the pool are awsome too. u will have a great time.
This is my favorite hotel ever. We go every year and we always stay here. My favorite thing is the bowling ball pool and the huge playdoh figures! LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!
is it easy to get girls down at the walt disney world parks??? im going this summer for the first time. im going july 24- august 1. some one let me know, what are the females like?? can you pick em up from a park and take em back to your hotel??? or are they like little children and there momys??
@sdavistew Is that serious? Listen, if you're going to WDW, you're only going to see women with their kids/families. The only place you even have a chance of getting girls is at Jelly Rolls', a piano bar on the Boardwalk. A lot of the college-age employees/students who work at Disney go there after hours.
@del1000005 yea man its serious..that sucks cause i heard from my cousin who goes every year, that every park you go to is crawling with fine wemon..he says disney has some pretty hot ladies but o well..
@sdavistew There are a lot of cute employees/interns. Remember, Disney takes women (and men) from all over the world and employs them in Disney World. You'll often find Italian, French, etc. women all over the place who are single, but they're working. If you're over 21, go to Jelly Rolls'.
@sdavistew it is pretty international. wen i went to caribbean beach resort, the girl at the front desk was from Thailand, the lady who Brought our luggage to us was from japan and the woman who drove us to our apartment was from Austraila.
My fiancee and I are going to disney world for 8 days and will be staying at the Pop Century Resort from March 19, to march 26 2010. We are in our early 20's and looking for a another couple to hang out with. If there is anyone interested in this replay to it....thank you
the disney dining plan is an awesome extra. We were never hungry they give such big portions. We brought cereal other items for breakfast and used the plan for lunch and dinner. We went with a family of seven and when we went to an italian restaraunt at epcot, they got there bill(they luckily had the dining plan) it was well over 700 dollars!!!
i went there last sumer 2009 july 31 through august 9th and i loved it!! it was the best especily the pool cuase theese flower things squirt water out ut they stop when its 9:00 pm
This hotel has a hidden mickey in every hotel like 50's 60's 70's 80's 90's ask a worker at the main building for a Hidden Mickey direction sheet if your the 1st guest from the hotel room 50's 60's 70's 80's 90's youll win somthing because i was there over Christmas and it was hard like they may put it on a big icon or on a toaster its really fun and i enjoyed it like when i went to refill my mug at 6 am at the main building asked for a sheet and i won and at the 50's its in a plant usually
@jamesgreen456 My family went there and we got the Disney Plus dining plan that gets you a quick service lunch sit down lunch and a snack it was good because you wre never like god i want somthing to eat. And i highly reccomend it but if your a fast familly take the quick service you get two snacks and twoquick services and a mug.
@jamesgreen456 like the sit down meals cost 200$ but you get the dining plan its already in and i reccomend the restraunt 1900 Park Fair if you have a daughter and if you have a son Whispering Canyon Cafe at The Wilderness Lodge.
Actually, there are four pools. The kiddie one, the "Hippy Dippy" pool (60's), one shaped like a computer moniter, and a bowling pin. That's right, I stayed there.
i stayed her the 3rd and last time i was there. i loved it, but the 2nd time i stayed at the carribean beach. that was my favorite. but the very first time i stayed at the all star resort. i didnt like that one too much =/
lady and the tramp are in the fifties side and the pool is pretty good, when we go we usually stay at the 70's for some reason it seems to be quieter than the other areas and we have stayed there a lot, my kids love it.
We went during July and it was burning hot! Well at least to me lol. We stayed at the place with lady and the tramp and the bowling pin pool! It was awesome! even better than it seems in this video! I wld recommend going there to anyone you wld hve a blast! The buses are fast too! Like every 7 min it seems like a new bus is there. It did rain some but off and on. Not bad really...a great vacation spot!
whwen did you go? i went at the end of june and came back the start of july, it was raining for a few days but it was really humid. It rains then its sunny again rains then sunny again! gets a little annoying!
i love pop hotell me and my family go like each year and i have stayed there twice and another time in 9 days<3 im so excited i love disney world i have gone there like over 10 times and im like young haa well i totally recommend this hotell its veryy nice and the buses are fast!! have a magical time at disneyyy
good choice! i for sure recommend the animal kingdom lodge, i stayed there and had the savanah view it was awesome you could see all the animals walking around, i stayed there for 2 days and 8 days at the coronado springs!
Are you referring to the Pop Century resort? I dont think the animal kingdom had a 60$ a night room? but anyhow, it you are talking about the animal kingdom lodge go for the $400 Savanagh View room which offers two king size beds in the room, i did all my reservations over the phone and they were extrememly helpful with everything. I only seem to find two rooms online now, a strandard and a savanagh view room with bunk beds call them and ask for two king or double beds and see what they say.
even though it's quite expensive for the night, i only stayed for two nights just for the experiance and it was great. I spent most of my time at the Coronado Springs resort, i think the resort is good if you are over 25+ and enjoy a mellow, mature relaxing environment. If you want any pictures of what the savanagh view looks like in real life and the coronado springs just pm me with your email address.
This is the great resort if you have kids. My kids LOVE Pop Century. I prefer Port Orleans, but my kids would take Pop Century over any other WDW resort, even the deluxe.
This hotel was so cool. The busses are really fast and therse tons of them. On night therse so much silence and the food are great, but the best part was the disney mug wich is drink free, refill. 0:43 looked like my room in the resort, wich was in the 90's section by the big phone. The onley thing I regret is not geting in the pool, I was so tired. I love the hotel.
The busses are really fast, its like an never ending cycle of them. When you are at the hotel, there are like buss signs that tell you where you want to go from the four parks, even Downtown Disney, from the hotel and from the park. They go directly to each park. But if you want to go to Sea World for example, you got to take the taxi, cause it's not Disney.
Yes, the buses go right to each park, except for Animal Kindgom, which makes a stop at one waterpark and im gonna say Downtown Disney but i dont remember exactly. But Epcot, MGM, and the Magic Kindgom buses ehre go RIGHT to the park :) And other questions? I love Disney World and i know almost everything about it!!! :) :) :)
yup there is a bus that goes directly to downtown disney. Theres a specific bus that goes to each park and they come every so often you dont even have to wait long either
this hotel was so cute. staff was friendly and attentive to any problems we encountered. the buses were also great, saved a lot of time from stopping at all the "All Star" hotels. the themes were adorable, and my little sister had the time of her life! :D
Just got back from this hotel. This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at in my life. If you're an adult, don't stay there. Don't be tempted by the cheap price. Rooms are loud, pools are packed, food is TERRIBLE. The most inconvenient Disney resort. Still has the busses, which run well. But, overall, this resort is terrible. Unless you have small children, avoid this at all costs.
My sister and I stayed at Pop Century for a week this year. She is 49 and we were there for my 40th birthday. We had the best time! The hotel is just darling! The cast members were wonderful. The food is not terrible - it was quite tasty. I enjoyed everything about the hotel. I will stay there again and I strongly recommend it to everyone!
The pop century resort is soooooooo awesome!!!! They would have music playing in the lobby and you could dance and play with hula hoops. The people are soo kid friendly there if my kids would cry they would come up with a sticker or something. Also they would throw free beach balls into the pool. We loved this resort and it rained 2 days in a row and there were snails EVERYWHERE around the hotel it was crazy!
We are going this coming June, it will be our 4th trip. We have stayed in Orlando at the Peabody Hotel, Caribbean Resort, & All Star Music, this will be our first at Pop Century, and we can't wait. Disney is the cleanest place I have ever seen, so I have a very hard time believing stories about rats and bed bugs. I think that if any type of problem should arise, that if it was reported to the proper people it would it would be fixed. And there is plenty of room to rest, & clean up in. Get real!!
The rooms are basic but are very disney which is awesome.
The closest park to pop is Hollywood Studios I think, but every park is reasonably close. All you have to do is get on one of the buses which you catch at the front of the hotel and they run very regulary. If you don't like waiting around then you can always catch a taxi and there is normally one waiting out front already.
i'm not really sure as i've never stayed at all star movies but the pop buses run pretty frequently so I can't fault them on that. The whole feeling of staying at pop is great and i'm staying there again next year as I think its awesome.
I find transportation (buses) better at POP Century, since many buses at the All Stars stop at each of the 3 resorts. This can be a major delay when you want to hurry up and get to a park or back to your resort.
Closest to Hollywood Studios & EPCOT(7 minutes by bus), then Animal Kingdom & Blizzard Beach(10 mins), Downtown Disney & Typhoon Lagoon(13 mins), and the Magic Kingdom is about 20 mins.
You can get to EPCOT-Hollywood Studios by boat. Magic Kingdom-EPCOT by monorail, and everywhere by bus.
I would give the rooms 4.5 (out of 5 stars), the hotel 5, cleanliness 5, and the food 4.5.
Check out Google maps for an excellent aerial view of the entire park.
No, the boats only travel from Hollywood Studios To EPCOT and back (stopping at The Boardwalk, The Swan & Dolphin, and The Beach Club), Magic Kingdom, Transportation & Ticket Center, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, and Downtown Disney to the French Quarter Resort. The monorail goes from Magic Kingdom to EPCOT and back, and another to all resorts around the lake (Contemporary, Polynesian, & Grand Floridian. Not all boats go everywhere so check it out first.
I stayed in the Pop Century Resort when I went and it was fricking awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even though Disney is already awesome, the Pop Century made my stay a lot better. After we got back from the park, we'd get some dinner, go to the pool, and before we got our pajamas on, we'd go get a snack. And u wouldn't believe how much sleep I got on those amazingly comfy beds!!!!!!!!!!!!
i was there in september and we had a blast there is so much to do. you will probably be tired after the plane rides and stuff. and it is hot but you will love it. hope you have a good trip
We might try POP on our next visit in order to save on expenses. Our regular choice is Riverside as it is soo calm and quiet after dark - and the kids stay with parents and are not roaming. We are concerned about the noise, restaurant choices and large numbers of unsupervised kids roaming at all hours of the day and night at POP -We have found that some in the lower priced locations tend to let their kids run wild with no consideration for others.. Any bad experiences at POP?
well i gotta be honest with ya POP is mainly for kids but disney world makes everyone feel like a kid.
Im currentyl a disney immagineer and im 15 and i love everything about disney
if u want my advice stay at POP its worth everybit the pool is fun the arcade is a blast and if youve saved ur money correctly for this vacation u can affoard to splurge. if ur like me and stay at the parks till ur literally the last place POP is 4 u
if u have any questions feel free to contact me via youtube =]
My family always stays at Riverside when we go to the World but in October I went with my two college roommates during our fall break and we stayed at POP to save money. My friends didn't know much different but I was surprisngly happy with it. I had the same worries you did, but we had zero noise problems or crazy kids problems. I did miss the relaxing atmosphere of Riverside and while POP is a little in your face we still enjoyed our late night strolls around the resort.
Nah, Not at all. It's a great resort! We were worried about the food too, however they have a great variety, best place to get food in WDW property. The beds are small, but why would you spend time in the room? Your in Disney! Yea, there are some kids that roam around, but i've never expericed anything terrible. Most are conserved and keep to themselves. It's a great hotel in general, If you have ANY questions just Private Message me or whatever (:
I find it to be amazing. I have never had any problems with the noise or anything. The pools are amazing, the arcade is fun, staff is friendly, food is good, and rooms are comfy. What more could ya want, lol, even though I have never stayed at Riverside.
wheres roger rabbit thats where I stayed in 2005. I think it was still under construction I didnt see a lot of the decorations they showed in the video
Why were you guys upset? The hotel looks nice...and my family is planning on staying there this summer so could you say why you wont stay there again?
Theres now the computer pool aswell between 80's and 70's buildings. ive just got back from pop century and live in the UK, this place is nothing compared to Disney!! someone post more vids!!
we were there the year it opened and the computer pool was open, warm and empty. It was January and pretty cool out but we jumped in for half an hour.
"Sigh" There it is, the best place on earth! I'm not happy that i have o stay at the swan.:'(

lady and the tramp are in the fifties side and the pool is pretty good, when we go we usually stay at the 70's for some reason it seems to be quieter than the other areas and we have stayed there a lot, my kids love it.

RUBBISH ....... i m staying in animal kingdom lodge :)
surfwave911 2 years ago
good choice! i for sure recommend the animal kingdom lodge, i stayed there and had the savanah view it was awesome you could see all the animals walking around, i stayed there for 2 days and 8 days at the coronado springs!
YourSayUTube 2 years ago
well one of them is around $60 and one is around $400 wich one do you think is nicer
yoyome601 2 years ago
Are you referring to the Pop Century resort? I dont think the animal kingdom had a 60$ a night room? but anyhow, it you are talking about the animal kingdom lodge go for the $400 Savanagh View room which offers two king size beds in the room, i did all my reservations over the phone and they were extrememly helpful with everything. I only seem to find two rooms online now, a strandard and a savanagh view room with bunk beds call them and ask for two king or double beds and see what they say.
YourSayUTube 2 years ago
even though it's quite expensive for the night, i only stayed for two nights just for the experiance and it was great.

I prefer Port Orleans, but my kids would take Pop Century over any other WDW resort, even the deluxe.
goreesha 2 years ago
i loveee Pop Century!! Ive been staying there all 3 yrs i went to DisneyWorld AND this year :)
jonandkateplus812 2 years ago
This hotel was so cool. The busses are really fast and therse tons of them. On night therse so much silence and the food are great, but the best part was the disney mug wich is drink free, refill. 0:43 looked like my room in the resort, wich was in the 90's section by the big phone. The onley thing I regret is not geting in the pool, I was so tired. I love the hotel.
SithLordGryffindor 2 years ago 3
do the buses at pop century go directly to each park, or do they have to stop at the TTC? Is there a bus that goes directly to downtown disney?
alaine93 2 years ago
The busses are really fast, its like an never ending cycle of them. When you are at the hotel, there are like buss signs that tell you where you want to go from the four parks, even Downtown Disney, from the hotel and from the park. They go directly to each park. But if you want to go to Sea World for example, you got to take the taxi, cause it's not Disney.
SithLordGryffindor 2 years ago
Yes, the buses go right to each park, except for Animal Kindgom, which makes a stop at one waterpark and im gonna say Downtown Disney but i dont remember exactly. But Epcot, MGM, and the Magic Kindgom buses ehre go RIGHT to the park :) And other questions? I love Disney World and i know almost everything about it!!! :) :) :)
jonandkateplus812 2 years ago
yup there is a bus that goes directly to downtown disney. Theres a specific bus that goes to each park and they come every so often you dont even have to wait long either
YourSayUTube 2 years ago
i miss it so much. i loved that hotel.
zakkw666 2 years ago 2
this hotel was so cute. staff was friendly and attentive to any problems we encountered. the buses were also great, saved a lot of time from stopping at all the "All Star" hotels. the themes were adorable, and my little sister had the time of her life! :D
disneyprincesskrissy 2 years ago
Just got back from this hotel. This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at in my life. If you're an adult, don't stay there. Don't be tempted by the cheap price. Rooms are loud, pools are packed, food is TERRIBLE. The most inconvenient Disney resort. Still has the busses, which run well. But, overall, this resort is terrible. Unless you have small children, avoid this at all costs.
MichaelBrazell 2 years ago

Get real!!

if you have been before >>>
1. how are the rooms?
2. is it near the main park and other resorts?
3. what transport is available for traveling to other parks
out of the what would you give>>>
1.the rooms
2.the hotel
3.clendliness (dont know how to spell it)
4. food
gavlad1994 2 years ago
The rooms are basic but are very disney which is awesome.
The closest park to pop is Hollywood Studios I think, but every park is reasonably close. All you have to do is get on one of the buses which you catch at the front of the hotel and they run very regulary. If you don't like waiting around then you can always catch a taxi and there is normally one waiting out front already.
The Rooms : 8/10
The Hotel : 9/10
Food : 7/10

gavlad1994 2 years ago
I want to stay at All Star Movies, but do you think the transportation is better here?
alaine93 2 years ago
i'm not really sure as i've never stayed at all star movies but the pop buses run pretty frequently so I can't fault them on that. The whole feeling of staying at pop is great and i'm staying there again next year as I think its awesome.
rever223 2 years ago
I find transportation (buses) better at POP Century, since many buses at the All Stars stop at each of the 3 resorts. This can be a major delay when you want to hurry up and get to a park or back to your resort.
sunsetgrill7 2 years ago
ive stayed at movies and its cool.

Rooms are small but clean, very well kept.
Check out Google maps for an excellent aerial view of the entire park.
sunsetgrill7 2 years ago
they have boat and monorail at pop century?
alaine93 2 years ago
No, the boats only travel from Hollywood Studios To EPCOT and back (stopping at The Boardwalk, The Swan & Dolphin, and The Beach Club), Magic Kingdom, Transportation & Ticket Center, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, and Downtown Disney to the French Quarter Resort. The monorail goes from Magic Kingdom to EPCOT and back, and another to all resorts around the lake (Contemporary, Polynesian, & Grand Floridian. Not all boats go everywhere so check it out first.
sunsetgrill7 2 years ago
nope .. you have to take the bus
but the buses are really organized

We might try POP on our next visit in order to save on expenses. Our regular choice is Riverside as it is soo calm and quiet after dark - and the kids stay with parents and are not roaming. We are concerned about the noise, restaurant choices and large numbers of unsupervised kids roaming at all hours of the day and night at POP -We have found that some in the lower priced locations tend to let their kids run wild with no consideration for others.. Any bad experiences at POP?
LifesaGardenDigit1 3 years ago
well i gotta be honest with ya POP is mainly for kids but disney world makes everyone feel like a kid.
Im currentyl a disney immagineer and im 15 and i love everything about disney
if u want my advice stay at POP its worth everybit the pool is fun the arcade is a blast and if youve saved ur money correctly for this vacation u can affoard to splurge. if ur like me and stay at the parks till ur literally the last place POP is 4 u
if u have any questions feel free to contact me via youtube =]
ironman7242 2 years ago
My family always stays at Riverside when we go to the World but in October I went with my two college roommates during our fall break and we stayed at POP to save money. My friends didn't know much different but I was surprisngly happy with it. I had the same worries you did, but we had zero noise problems or crazy kids problems. I did miss the relaxing atmosphere of Riverside and while POP is a little in your face we still enjoyed our late night strolls around the resort.
kalinj 2 years ago
Nah, Not at all. It's a great resort! We were worried about the food too, however they have a great variety, best place to get food in WDW property. The beds are small, but why would you spend time in the room? Your in Disney! Yea, there are some kids that roam around, but i've never expericed anything terrible. Most are conserved and keep to themselves. It's a great hotel in general, If you have ANY questions just Private Message me or whatever (:
Lisax312 2 years ago
I find it to be amazing. I have never had any problems with the noise or anything. The pools are amazing, the arcade is fun, staff is friendly, food is good, and rooms are comfy. What more could ya want, lol, even though I have never stayed at Riverside.
