It's not alloways like that. The big engine donn't makes all the diference. Weight of the car is very important too. I have a Bmw X3 3.0 sd ( 1950 kg, 350 hp, 690 Nm ). I had a race with a ML 63 AMG ( 2450kg, 510hp) and at 1/4 mile I was 0.5 m ahead ( allmost equal ). At 500 m we were equal too. The guy in ML told after the race he was in confort mode, but with pedal to metal ( i think is no diference betwen Sport and confort in this case ).

The FX had no chance with only a 3.5L V6 with 290hp while the ML63 AMG Merc has a 6.2L V8 with 510hp and oodles more torque, quite a big difference...
