I'm pretty sure they stopped calling them "Blazers" in 1994. The 2-door Tahoe (new name same product) was in production up until 1999, the last model year for this 2-door SUV. The 2-door GMC Yukon was produced until 1997.
@Zombeebrainz The tahoe had an option for 2 door up to some point in 98. I did like the door modle better too, it would be neat to see a new blazer that is just a 2 door version of the new tahoe.

@LovingMyRam My dad is a car dealer and we have owned hundreds of vehicles of all the brands, and I'll admit the chevy's have the most power, but they also have the most problems by far. We had a yukon with a 100,000 mile warranty. 102,000 tranny goes out, 106,000 rear end goes out. That is when I lost hope in GM. Also HP ratings from the factory mean nothing. I've seen a 300hp rated engine lose to a 210 hp rating engine when they where in the same style vehicle
@nathanischuck At work.. like mentioned before, our 2010 F150 has 200000km on it and has been nothing but problems. The 2010 F150 replaced a 2007 Chevy 1500HD with a 6.0. The Chevy now has 500000km on it. These 2 trucks were driven by the same 4 guys (Including me) in the same conditions. The Ford just doesnt match up. (in more than just HP)

It was in the 90's when Toyota really started having problems. Until then they were pretty good. I have seen articles and stories in the news about Toyota doing buybacks due to the frames rusting through. I know some '95 models were part of the recall. Earlier than that, I can't say. I think these 'runaway' vehicles are mostly driver error. A frame rusting through, that's just substandard steel.

I'm not talking about the rust you see. I'm talking about hidden rust. You hit a hard bump with a load in the bed, and the truck just breaks. A lot of Toyota owners don't know how rusted the frame is until something breaks or falls off. The places where the springs, shocks, or spare tire often get so rusted those parts just break away from the vehicle.
Toyota has an active recall on vans for the spare tire mounts rusting so badly it falls off going down the road.
From what I have seen and read, Toyota's rust problems started with trucks made during the 1990's. I haven't read of any widespread problems with the frames rusting on Toyota trucks made back in the 1980's. Actually, they seem to be tough and durable.

We had a Jeep, 4.0 I-6, that had 213K when we sold it.

@sambeano024 Well the tundra motor itself i heard is ok. But frame integrity? i wouldnt haul the weekly groceries in it much less a real load. If you looked up the f150 vs chevy vs tundra video i think youd agree.lol. But the domestic seems to last longer in harsh conditions. My grand dad has a 71 chevy. been in michigan all its life and parts of canada when he'd go deer hunting. It has hes guessing 400k the odo stops at 99k then goes back to 00000. but its rolled over 3 or 4 times he thinks

It does have rust on the box looks kinda like a leopard...lol but surprisingly no holes. he did replace the gas tank tho around 7 years ago due to fact of filling it up one day and the tank straps broke from the weight of the gas right at the gas pump. But other than that and basic maintenance its been hell of a truck. It has the 71 350 in it still. Working on it is a dream tho its so easy lotta room under the hood

Fords minivan's are prob one of the best, and the Crown Vic is bought every year by hundreds of Police departments and other fleet vehicles. Theres A LOT more to Ford than there trucks! @nathanischuck According to internet (Any websites. Brands Main V8 Engines) Nissan(5.6l)=317HP, Tundra(5.7l)=381, Chevy(5.3l)=315, Dodge(5.7)=390, Ford(5.4)=310. Which means FACT Ford has less HP in their main-selling V8's. ALSO, My patrol truck at work is a 2010 F-150 with the 5.4. We've had it 11 months, it has 200000km on it (25% are mine) and I ABSOLUTELY Hate it. Worse truck Ive ever driven. Its Gutless. Ive driven it, theres no question. So Fact AND opinion. It sucks!

@LovingMyRam My dad is a car dealer and we have owned hundreds of vehicles of all the brands, and I'll admit the chevy's have the most power, but they also have the most problems by far. We had a yukon with a 100,000 mile warranty. 102,000 tranny goes out, 106,000 rear end goes out. That is when I lost hope in GM. Also HP ratings from the factory mean nothing. I've seen a 300hp rated engine lose to a 210 hp rating engine when they where in the same style vehicle

@nathanischuck At work.. like mentioned before, our 2010 F150 has 200000km on it and has been nothing but problems. The 2010 F150 replaced a 2007 Chevy 1500HD with a 6.0. The Chevy now has 500000km on it. These 2 trucks were driven by the same 4 guys (Including me) in the same conditions. The Ford just doesnt match up. (in more than just HP)

I've have never had a Ford break down on me on the road, but I've driven Chevy's less times and been stranded multiple times. I like Ford for their reliability, and proven (to me) durability. So you go ahead and drive your Chevy and complain about your Ford, and I'll continue doing the opposite.

It was in the 90's when Toyota really started having problems. Until then they were pretty good. I have seen articles and stories in the news about Toyota doing buybacks due to the frames rusting through. I know some '95 models were part of the recall. Earlier than that, I can't say. I think these 'runaway' vehicles are mostly driver error. A frame rusting through, that's just substandard steel.

I'm not talking about the rust you see. I'm talking about hidden rust. You hit a hard bump with a load in the bed, and the truck just breaks. A lot of Toyota owners don't know how rusted the frame is until something breaks or falls off. The places where the springs, shocks, or spare tire often get so rusted those parts just break away from the vehicle.
Toyota has an active recall on vans for the spare tire mounts rusting so badly it falls off going down the road.

From what I have seen and read, Toyota's rust problems started with trucks made during the 1990's. I haven't read of any widespread problems with the frames rusting on Toyota trucks made back in the 1980's. Actually, they seem to be tough and durable.

Its all good tho still got my 97 z71 with 280k on it and it has zero issue pulling my boat or my horse trailer. My f150 only has 60,000 on it. yeah they last alright they make awesome lawn ornaments. But hey im seeling my f150 to anyone that wants a 06 with blown tranny. 1st and 2nd are toast but it does move in third and reverse

I bought it in the south clean and mint as a whistle i live in northern michigan. Had it undercoated to protect the body once a year. It was rusted out on year 3 that i had it

@sambeano024 Well the tundra motor itself i heard is ok. But frame integrity? i wouldnt haul the weekly groceries in it much less a real load. If you looked up the f150 vs chevy vs tundra video i think youd agree.lol. But the domestic seems to last longer in harsh conditions. My grand dad has a 71 chevy. been in michigan all its life and parts of canada when he'd go deer hunting. It has hes guessing 400k the odo stops at 99k then goes back to 00000. but its rolled over 3 or 4 times he thinks

It does have rust on the box looks kinda like a leopard...lol but surprisingly no holes. he did replace the gas tank tho around 7 years ago due to fact of filling it up one day and the tank straps broke from the weight of the gas right at the gas pump. But other than that and basic maintenance its been hell of a truck. It has the 71 350 in it still. Working on it is a dream tho its so easy lotta room under the hood
