  • i have a question.because your hammer has a square head does it leave step ridges as you go towards the tip on the taper?

  • @bigaxe87 The bottom die is tapered (wedge shaped) and the top is flat. This allows me to taper the entire jaw. Also by changing the angle (side to side) as I enter into the dies I can actually forge any angle I desire not just the angle of the wedge. And No it doesn’t leave any dig marks the edges all have radius.

    Thanks

  • @ThomasIronworks nice.....i look forward to more videos :)

  • Yes I have it finely tuned with a few additions.

  • 25 lbs little giant ;D. i love that thing!

  • Cable handles are a very smart solution to avoid shocks to the hands, wrists and arms, at least when you don't need high precision in the position of the tool (90% of the times I think :) )

  • Its a 25 lbs. Little Giant. I use flat dies then I have a tapered plate the sits on to of the flat dies when I forge the taper on the tongs. You can use one taper die to get many different tapers just by changing the angle you approach the die from. KT

  • what make& size is your hammer?

also is the bottom die angled& or on a swivel?
