Please do yourself a favour and stop disgracing yourself in public. Be it a Singaporean or a Thai, I think what makes them the same is that both are still human beings, and both are living in the same world. Instead of pulling each other down, why not share and exchange each other's culture? Won't that do both sides good, rather then having such never-ending fights using words? Come on! So why are you using English in your daily life? Why are you BORROWING and USING a language that is not of your own, and even dare to claim that you ARE good in that language? China and Thailand are both large countries with a big population but the difference stops here. China is moving leaps and bounds above Thailand. Why? The Chinese are smart, they are hardworking, unlike you PadThais - still surviving on a bad economy - a majority of you are still living in slums, it has nothing to do with the country itself, its you people!! In Spore there are MNCs and mult-nationals working here and English is the common language that brings everyone together at the work place. For christ sake, if you have not entered the working world, stop trying to preach and act smart!!
Have you been to the offices in HK? Have you been to the offices in Taipei? Have you been to the offices in Shanghai? Have you been to the offices in Ho Chih Minh City? Besides Mandarin, English is the main language used in these places!

Are we using English in its real form? You can argue that you use perfect English. Good for you. But are you able to speak on behalf of all the Singaporeans? Are you very sure that Singaporeans speak perfect, clear and good English? If so, why is there a need for the government to introduce "Speak good english" campaign? Rattanakosin made an interesting point about language. He is a Thai, so speaking Thai is only natural for him. I would like to ask you. How well are you in your own Mother Tongue? Do you speak your Mother Tongue as fluent as a Thai speaking Thai? Why are you using English to comment here, and not your own Mother Tongue?
We singaporeans, no doubt being English educated, are taking the Language of English for granted. We speak the way we want, we write like the way we speak.
