It's a pity that singing in choir is not a malaysian culture. Can't really blame if malaysian choirs are not really up to the 'standard'
But then, again, I think this choir is the best (in malaysian standard) from what i've found on utube so far. And at least this choir is properly trained and the conductor seemed to really know the technical and theoretical stuff (i'm sorry I do not know you if you are really a trained conductor or not but if you are, then it's a credit to you).
@LuciferAmadeus I'm very irritated by interschool choir in malaysia... -_-" IT'S SUPER AWFUL. They care more about costumes and choreography than the singing itself. and many of the singer syok sendiri (everybody wants their voice to stand out whereas in a choir they should sing as ONE VOICE). This choir did a good job, I can hear they are really singing TOGETHER and for the first time I see a malaysian choir really pay attention to the conductor.
Thank you very much to all the singers. I love it. I just could not stop my tears shed. I don't understand. I just don't understand why I shed my tears for just this song. Am I crazy or I still remember Sultan Tengah Mosleum
the sop. sounds light in the low tessitura. becoz they used the smiling technique. but i like their high notes. both sop & alto didnt use proper resonance. i understan the pronunciation emphasis on mlay vowel thus making the choir sounds "aa" as in "say" & drop the resonance. the basses emphasis on the "aa" a lot making it sound teen-like voice. if u intend to make a folk-sound-voice well some uses classical pronunciation but some flok style. blending and control was ok. but i seldom hear tenor

a little nitpick: the piano is too strong.

I think I saw my cikgu there! Anyway, as a sarawakian I'll say kudos to Malaysian national choir team for singing this song. This is great!

what about the choir?

A few mistakes, but both the technique and the musical impression this leaves on me are excellent.
