Creating Circular Text in Inkscape to use in SCAL

Great tutorial! I followed all of your instructions and it works wonderfully except for one thing. When I click 'text>put on path' it puts my text on the path on the inside of the circle (upside-down) How can I change it so it goes on the outside of the circle (rightside up)? Thank you for the great tutorials^^

@ColbaltBlueSapphire Try using the mirror and flip buttons that look like triangles on the toolbar

@ScrappyDewCreations I got one more ?, when i'm using fill and stroke, I click 'edit' to edit the gradient, but my help screen won't come up. Did i change a setting or something?

i'm having the same problem as Idahomom5...a few months ago it worked just fine. Now when I create the circular text the center of the letters are out of place and some of the other letters are misshapen. I tried doing the Path>Union, but that didn't help. I can't figure out what changed and how to get this to work again! Please help me if you can! Thanks

Question: When I import my image to SCAL the inside of my e's, d's and the dots to my i's are not in the correct place. They are randomly placed. Can you help me to fix this problem?

@Idahomom5 I think you may have to go to Path>Union on the Text.

I am using the pc version and it won't let me select both the text and path. Any suggestions? Is there a secret or is it something simple I am missing?

@jdunkmann4 They forgot to add: Hold down the SHIFT key when selecting the text and circle.... I found that out on another video.

Great Video! Now I have a problem trying to find something to make my text horizontal and vertical...meaning the first letter of my text on top...last letter on the bottom, please help me with this since i have this project and couldn't finish because of this lil' issue...thanx!

@1229LIZ You can use the flip tool in inkscape to rotate the text from top bottom inside outside. The flip tool looks like a right triangle as if you were to mirror something.

Great tutorial. Can you weld the letters together in a circle or any shape? That would make it so much easier to move once it's cut.

I love the way it highlights the portion of the screen that your pointer is on when detailing certain steps.

Camtasia would be similar for the PC side. But it wouldn't have the fluid effects that you see of the mouse pointer...etc. However it does render HD for youtube. Before the mac that's what I used.

Hold the shift button down while selecting the circle and the text. Holding the shift button allows for multiple selections.
