Sucks Nickelodeon Studios is gone, but the Blue Man Group is really a great show. People making some these videos I assume have never seen the show, which is thankfully giving life to the once dead Nickelodeon Studios.
I know its sad that the studios are no more, but at least they found another use for the building so they didn't tear it down. Atleast we can still go see what used to be.

This studio is where ALL the great Nickelodeon shows were filmed: Clarissa Explains it All, Kenan & Kel, All That, Double Dare, Eureka's Castle, What Would You Do, etc. Since Nickelodeon no longer produces game shows or sitcoms like they did in the early 90s, and less people were taking the studio tour, they closed it in 2005. Shows are now filmed at Nickelodeon On Sunset in Hollywood. I would've loved to have seen this place back in its glory days!

I'm glad I got to see this place when I was a kid. I feel so lucky. We went here in 2000 I think. All the shows were still good. It brings me to tears because they got rid of that place. It was so awesome inside.

Went here this summer to see The Blue Man Group. Being a 90s Nick kid, I was greatly saddened to see the Nick Studios go. I always wanted to see a taping of Double Dare or Figure It Out. I never got to. The Blue Man Group was AMAZING, though. It was possibly the best part of Universal Studios. It was well worth the money to go.
Here's the saddest part. The bathroom right next to it still has the green tiling on the floor in the shape of a slime splat. When I walked in it... a tear welled up...

The facility closed because the network's viewers stopped watching game shows and wanted more scripted shows....the exact kind of program Nickelodeon could not stage in Orlando because actors refused to move from Los Angeles to Orlando.
One of their huge employee parking lots on Vineland St. never comes close to being full because they overestimated their employee numbers back in the late 80s so they would never tear those down for another lot. And only Soundstage 19 is still the same beige/brown color as in the 90s, the other two parts are ruined by a very ugly shade of blue. What's inside them is no better.
Parts of the buildings that are not accessible to the general public still look the same way they did when Nickelodeon was there.
Josh Yawn made a tour of the buildings last year, when he was working on the production team of "My Family's Got Guts", and took pictures for a tribute that he created on his website.
The parking lot comment was just one thought, but the general idea was (and is) that without Sun Sports, Blue Man Group and FSN, those buildings might not be around today.
I always wanted to go there when i was little now that im 14 and the studio is now for the FUCKIN BMG now i cant i really missed the old shows man o man
Keeping the buildings as Nickelodeon Studios was not doable. Those buildings need to generate money and that was just not happening.
Universal Studios would be jam packed with people but nobody was going over to Nickelodeon Studios for the tour or to visit the gift shop and there was no prospect of that changing at any point in the near future.

In the late 90s early 2000s Nickelodeon's target audience lost interest in game shows. They wanted more scripted comedies and cartoons.
Actors who were needed for shows refused to move from Los Angeles to Orlando. Because of this, Nickelodeon could not develop new shows for Nickelodeon Studios.
In 2005 Nickelodeon closed the facility.
Despite someone leaving the negative rating for my prior comment, the fact is Blue Man Group had nothing to do with the closing of Nickelodeon Studios.

Nickelodeon is not gone.
It is still on air, but it is missing some shows like Are you afraid of the dark? and Zoey 101. The Mighty B! was also missing, too.
Nickelodeon still has some shows like Spongebob Squarepants and Icarly.
Notice that Nickelodeon was normally Pinwheel, without the normal shows like Spongebob Squarepants and Zoey 101.

I remember when i was a kid, probably about 6 or 7 and i went there with my family and we went inside and were on the slime time thing (i think here 0:15 ) and i remember they would pick volunteers to do this obstacle course and they would ride around on tricycles and stuff, it was one of the best memories i had as a kid and now its been torn down, i almost cried at the sight of this video ),:

I'm glad I got to see this place when I was a kid. I feel so lucky. We went here in 2000 I think. All the shows were still good. It brings me to tears because they got rid of that place. It was so awesome inside.

Nickelodeon could no longer produce scripted shows at Nickelodeon Studios Orlando because actors refused to leave the Los Angeles area.

Went here this summer to see The Blue Man Group. Being a 90s Nick kid, I was greatly saddened to see the Nick Studios go. I always wanted to see a taping of Double Dare or Figure It Out. I never got to. The Blue Man Group was AMAZING, though. It was possibly the best part of Universal Studios. It was well worth the money to go.
Here's the saddest part. The bathroom right next to it still has the green tiling on the floor in the shape of a slime splat. When I walked in it... a tear welled up...

i remember taking the tour back in like '94 getting to see the clarissa explains it all sets and clarissa was there and i saw fergusson lol and getting to see where the animators work was really cool i wish i could of worked there! i understand its not the BMG's fault but it's hard to see big blue heads where one of the coolest places from my childhood used to be.

Blue Man Group is not responsible for what happened to Nickelodeon Studios.
The facility closed because the network's viewers stopped watching game shows and wanted more scripted shows....the exact kind of program Nickelodeon could not stage in Orlando because actors refused to move from Los Angeles to Orlando.

Blue Man Group is only 1 of the organizations that now use part of the complex. Sun Sports and FSN are 2 others.
If it wasn't for these organizations, Universal could have easily ripped the buildings down and used the land for a parking lot.
But the buildings are still standing and parts of them still look the same way the did when Nickelodeon was there.

One of their huge employee parking lots on Vineland St. never comes close to being full because they overestimated their employee numbers back in the late 80s so they would never tear those down for another lot. And only Soundstage 19 is still the same beige/brown color as in the 90s, the other two parts are ruined by a very ugly shade of blue. What's inside them is no better.

Parts of the buildings that are not accessible to the general public still look the same way they did when Nickelodeon was there.
Josh Yawn made a tour of the buildings last year, when he was working on the production team of "My Family's Got Guts", and took pictures for a tribute that he created on his website.
The parking lot comment was just one thought, but the general idea was (and is) that without Sun Sports, Blue Man Group and FSN, those buildings might not be around today.

Keeping the buildings as Nickelodeon Studios was not doable. Those buildings need to generate money and that was just not happening.
Universal Studios would be jam packed with people but nobody was going over to Nickelodeon Studios for the tour or to visit the gift shop and there was no prospect of that changing at any point in the near future.

BMG had nothing to do with the closing of Nickelodeon Studios, but people continue to blame them.
BMG is only 1 of multiple groups that now use the facility.

In the late 90s early 2000s Nickelodeon's target audience lost interest in game shows. They wanted more scripted comedies and cartoons.
Actors who were needed for shows refused to move from Los Angeles to Orlando. Because of this, Nickelodeon could not develop new shows for Nickelodeon Studios.
In 2005 Nickelodeon closed the facility.
Despite someone leaving the negative rating for my prior comment, the fact is Blue Man Group had nothing to do with the closing of Nickelodeon Studios.
