  • Clever!

  • This whovian approves

  • The blue is calming and helps balance out his agressive performance.

  • Yep Blue one's better.

  • Where's test 1?

  • @Hayabusa449 lost in time

  • @dwho1994 and space

  • much much better..now if only we could erase JNT as easy

  • wow, this is very well done! I attempted to do this with a Trial of a Timelord scene a few days ago but then my VLC Media Player messed up and skipped a few frames >.<

  • good job

  • holy shit, you did an amazing job coloring that, pretty good

  • I think it looked better blue. colin baker was really the only doctor whose outfit looked stupid. like the wardrobe in the tardis ran out of stuff and he had to sew his clothes from remnants or whatnot.

  • wow very nice recolor! i couldn't tell!

  • Colin Baker should have been Blake in Blakes Seven in billions of ways.

  • I think Colin Baker would have been great in any outfit but the blue is a lot better. Nice work with this video!

  • He only had the blue coat in an animated story cus the multicolored one was hard to animate

  • @TheEddiejones15 he also wore a blue and purple sorta coat in the ultimate adventure stage play

  • @dwho1994 Colin Baker should have, been cast as Blake in B7 and he would have stuck around as Blake for longer than 2 seasons unlike Gareth Thomas who psuhed after 2 seasons which I thought was rather weird and not good.

  • @TheEddiejones15 and in an audio we know it was blue because of the cover . But the blue is better anyway I think

  • The blue coat would have clashed with the dark blue box. They had to go for the multi coloured one. Maybe all pink or yellow would have been better.

  • I declare myself 'Doctor Who'

  • ...that was neat...I really like Colin Baker...he is like one of my favourite Drs...if not my favourite...and Peri is the hottest companion, they really worked well together, well after the strangling...some really good story lines they had....

  • I like it :) How did you do it?

  • YUCK! The blue coat makes him look ridiculous. The colorful coat somehow looks more sane.

  • @alifeofreason next time you see someone walking down the street wearing a multicoloured coat while also looking sane then let me know

  • @dwho1994 Well, perhaps I shouldn't have said 'sane' considering the Doctor is quite the opposite of sane. I should have said it suits him better. The Sixth Doctor's personality just goes with his outfit. The best example is in his first episode. Colin Baker is like a regeneration gone wrong, he is egoistic and chaotic, but I love him. I can't think of anyone else who could pull off wearing Jon Pertwee or Colin Baker's outfits. Look at how ridiculous Sylvester McCoy looked in his first episode.

  • Nice job. That should have been his custome, not that wacky multi-coloured coat.

  • Impressive.

  • The blue coat is much better but it had a tendency to disappear into the blue screens he had to work in front of.

  • they should release a "Blue Baker Box" with all of colin's stories with an option to watch the story with the colour coat or the blue coat. either that or put that option on the Vengeance on Varos DVD when it gets re-released in a revisitations box set or a separate re-release.

  • @animationdude56 totally agree. in fact, i think they shouldve made the cape from revelation of the daleks a permanent feature over a blue coat. not a fan of the cat though... :/

  • @SteamPunkReview meh, I kinda like the cat. and for some reason I konda like Colin's coat as it is, for some reason. I think it contrasts with his dark stories, which, when you think about it, kind of works.

  • At least the blue isn't as loud as the original. :)

  • Blue looks quite nice actually, though I would have gone with a darker shade like navy to better reflect Six's personality. Still, blue looks a thousand time better then the technicolour dreamcoat gone awry that he ended up with on the show.

  • Blue looks good, but brown or burgundy look best for the Doctor.

Not the clown suit. They messed up when they dressed him all crazy and wrote crap scripts.

  • The blue one looks much better./ Blue is my favorite coler so I am kinda partial to it, but the other coat looks just to joofy !

  • The blue kind of hurt my eyes, actually. If it had been darker shades it would have worked.

  • @kamwrites agreed, it's too bright but could work with less day glo shades

  • Very well done there.

mellowNdark is clearly a no talent troll.

  • That really would have been a nice costume for him. As would the black with leather coat that Colin Baker wanted to wear. All things said, though, I strangely fancy that gaudy monstrosity. If nothing else it's unique ;~)

  • I think this is cool. Its nice as a fan to postulate on what his costume might have looked like, especially as the blue variant is proving popular in the audios and web cast at the minute.

As for issues regarding 'wasting your life', isn't this how professionals start off by doing little pet projects, not just in CGI, but in literature, film and fashion. For all you know @mellowNdark, dwho1994 could be running Millennium FX in twenty years time, all through 'wasting his time' doing this.

  • I prefer the blue coat to the rainbow factory explosion.

  • That looks really classy - wish they'd have gone that way originally. Hell, wouldnt be surprised if they do a retcon somewhere down the line, edit all of his era to give him that blue coat, and release it as a special edition box set... I'd buy it(!) lol

  • this mellowNdark is a dick head

  • Comment removed

  • That was awesome...what would've made it legendary would be if the coat changed colour after the electricity shot...

  • Comment removed

  • @mellowNdark no, your comment is :D

  • Comment removed

  • @mellowNdark hmm 20,022 views, 105 likes... from my point of view that is far from pointless, but for you, watching the video, commenting saying you don't like it and commenting again saying it again THAT is pointless and a waste of time :D now do something creative with your time and not waste it

  • @mellowNdark wasting the rest of my life? that's like saying everyone who has ever worked on a film is wasting their time, evidently you don't understand the concept of youtube, its about uploading videos people create, so why the hell would you make a youtube account if you don't do that? that sounds to me like you are wasting your time on youtube :D

  • @mellowNdark It's rather pointless for you to argue a waste a time, since this argument is a waste of everyone's time.

  • @MrPsychic8472 But surely it's a bigger waste of time telling me i'm wasting my time that your wasting your time and im wasting my time???????

  • @mellowNdark drwho1994 does it himself - fan edits, silly little nothings... so if you're wasting YOUR life, then surely he is too, to an even greater degree - look at the amount of stuff he's done and uploaded. Seems like a rather hollow person

  • much better...........

  • looks great!! and you kept the blue almost going into purple motif that they put in the comics--which is way better than just simply blue.

  • Absaloutily outstanding.

  • I actually don't mind the multi-coloured coat, but this one really works well.

  • The Blue coat would have been good for the Trial of a Time Lord seeing that it was a new season and a different type of storyline. At least he could have worn it solely in the courtroom scenes.

  • Nice

I didn’t actually mind the multi-coloured coat but a blue one really would’ve suited Colin Bakers Doctor

  • The blue coat is better looking than the red one :D

I am an eagle eyed viewer and noticed the blue on his neck though lol

  • Easier on the eye than the original.

  • THAT IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How is that done? And realistically, how many man hours would be involved in transforming all his episodes? (Just wondering what sort of work would be required...)

  • ...peri running... mmmmmmm

  • There is a bit of blue on his neck at one point but aside from that it seems realistic.

  • THE Colin baker has never looked bluer, Ketchup be upon him.

  • love the blue

  • I actualy like Colin Baker's jacket. But that's largely because I have no sense of style.

  • Can you fix his acting too?

  • Colin said he would have like his coat to be black. Do black!

  • Incredible! That is fantastic!

  • If only the Doctor really had worn something that subdued during that time...

  • how can u get arial rounded mt bold onto windows movie maker?

  • I'm a HUGE fan of Colin's Doctor, his coat and Season 22 and I was ready to hate on this video, but I must admit, it looked really cool! :) well done!

  • The blue coat does look better. The only drawback is that if Colin had stood in front of the TARDIS with it, he would disappear completely.

  • Comment removed

  • I think the blue coat really works well. I think I would go for a darker shade blue, or perhaps dark red. Both colours go with his blond hair. :)

  • no that doesnt work the entire costume needs to be scraped, the cut of the suit just makes the blue colour worse.

  • I like it. Basing it on the Real Time version, yes? I love Colin's Multicolor TimeCoat exceedingly well, but this version's not half-bad. Good job on the editing. But you got a bit of his neck blue too.

  • Call me mad!..... but.... A, my teo fave Doctors are 6 and 7, and B.... i rather like the crazy coloured outfit!... And the blue one! :-D Brilliant work BTW!!!!!!!!!

  • "what are you doing?"

"something I should've done a long time ago"

{yea wear blue lol} nice vid Colin is still to this day one of my most fav Doctors:)

  • Please post this into to BBC (patent is FIRST). They will hire you to do it for real. Trust me. (DO NOT FORGET TO PATENT IT FIRST!)

  • I wonder why they wanted him to wear this so badly? Colin baker was a very miss understood doctor shame really there were some episodes where he really did shine I think they got the balance wrong with his charector!

  • the blue is much better.

  • @wcywing Yeah they should've stayed with the blue coat coz 10 (my fave!) had a blue suit !!

  • That was great!!

  • I got the toy for the blue 6th doc recently, and it has cuts and stuff on the face, does anyone elses? Its painted damage not physical cuts, does anyone elses blue 6th doctors head pop off like the regeneration figures? Do i have some weird custom head?

  • If I were harsh, I'd say it makes sense because Colin's Doctor always acted like a Blue Coat. But he's my favourite Doctor, so I don't mean that. Personally, I've always been a big fan of his multi-colour frock coat, but the blue looks good as well. Nice work.

  • They have made a limited release action figure of Colin Baker wearing a blue coat, apparently inspired by one of the Dr Who "New Adventures" stories.

  • Hey, I liked the Sixth Doctor's crazy coat! It was a reflection of how unbalanced, erratic, and unpredictable he was. Apparently, though, I'm in the minority in liking Colin Baker's costume.

  • colin wanted to wear a black suit and tie something which I think would have been great but John Nathan Turner the producer woun't have it....

  • Terrific! Now... fix Peri's accent.

  • @redheadedgolem

Sorry, but there's not enough technology in the world to fix that!

  • @redheadedgolem

Never mind her accent. Can the same technology give us a glimpse of what she looked like without the leotard (or anything else for that matter!) ;-)

  • Amazing work! Where did you get that 'boom' sound effect at 0:04?

  • Nicely done mate!

  • what's the story behind the blue?

  • @luno44 Well, to my knowledge, the blue was strictly prohibited as it interfered with special effects (How, I don't know!) but when the first Sixth Doctor story - Real Time - came about in 2002, he was wearing a blue costume which has since become popular with the Sixth Doctor. Again, I think that's it.

  • @PrimusPrimal1995 Not the first Sixth Doctor story, but the first animated story, sorry.

  • @PrimusPrimal1995

If I remember rightly old film visual effects (star wars etc) used to use a Blue screen. The blue effectively came up transparent for when you wanted to overlay/composite negatives together I think. Now with computer compositing the best color is an almost self illuminating really bright neon yellow/green.

Basicly in the old days since blue was the best, you had to avoid blue in costumes or run the risk of having parts of the character vanish against visual effects.

  • OMG! thats awsome....really brings out his eyes!

aparently i read on wiki that his daughter likes this colour more than the original! (not joking!!)

  • That coat would have been so much better. And if Nicola Bryant had been properly dressed it woul have been brilliant.

  • Peri's Boobs never loose their impact! Can you put a Dark Black Suit on Colin?!! Very Clever though!

  • haha, nice one

  • I think there would have been more Colin Baker fans if he had worn blue

  • thats too awesome for words

  • Wow, the blue coat kind of looks nice! I love your choice of scene to showcase it too- the dialogue works very well with what you're trying to put across.

This blue coat could've been a good choice of attire for Arthur Stengos' funeral on Necros also, lol.

  • cool

  • If we could get every episode remastered with that much better blue coat, I definitely would.

  • Great work - seamless!

  • Much better. But you know over the years I've got used to the Rupert the bear outfit, very bad taste but it was the 80s. Colin Baker wasn't the only bad dressed person back then.

  • @floydian2007 Lol @ ur "Rupert the Bear" reference to the multi coloured coat hehe. I prefer in blue.

  • Much better... but his entire costume is just ridiculous. This was a JNT fiasco from start to finish... and it took all of these years for DW to finally get resurrected...

  • Blue wins - hands down!

  • The blue looks quite nice.

  • Nice, the blue coat looks so much better. The multicolored coat made the Doctor look like a clown, I didn't like it at all. What were they thinking back then....lol

  • This was good but I realy love his colorful coat. It realy makes this Doctors character. Colin Baker is my second favorite after Tom Baker. Jelly babies and carot juice. Long scarves and colorful coats. You gotta love them.

  • I agree! Well spoken!

  • This is very good. Unlike most people, I'm not a fan of the blue look he had in "Real Time". Always preferred his multicoloured one but this is still a great achievement.

  • Superb work. Just shows what we could have had.

    Well done!

  • Well done!

  • Brilliant work. Makes me wonder if fan edited all-blue Sixth Doctor episodes will ever appear

  • Nice one! Too bad about the multi colored one. Bloody nathan turner!

  • Looks fantastic man - but seeing that clip really drives home how it wouldn't have made much of a difference in the long run...

  • WOW!! Really good, nice work

  • Nice!

  • The blue cloak looks great! If only he could have had a better outfit, people would have taken him a bit more serious. Also, if he could have ditched the whiny companion with the bad accent...

  • Impressive

  • what should he of done a long time ago?

  • Get a blue coat :D

  • Great, now can you do something to get rid of that pink leotard? :P

    Very nice work indeed.

  • much much much better

  • WOAH - how did you do that? anyway, i like it :D

  • Yuck ! .

I prefer his Technicolour Dreamcoat as i call it .

  • This is very good. He'd have been alright in those colours.

  • From what I've read on wikipedia, the sixth doctor was in a webcast, but the colours that where on the coat on T.V. were tricky to animate, so they made the colours blue. Thats what I've gathered.

  • Yes. It was called Real Time. Although the video of the webcast doesn't work on the official website. I don't think they've fixed it for ages.

  • Great job!

Now, can you make Peri's knockers bigger?

  • That should be possible with the punch feature in vegas ^^, not that I personally like to hit women. XD

  • thats superb

  • fantastic. the BBC should remaster the entire 6th Doc era using this technique....... it cannot be underestimated how much of his performance is judged because of that awful costume.

  • great video and i love the blue cote

its still not as good as the coulerd one thou

  • I love the way you've done this.

  • Nicely done! I prefer the red coat, but this looked great and it would have been a nice alternative now and then.

  • Fantastic!!!!!!!! Get some stuff with Davros and the doctor for the next one

  • nice 1 better than mine, but u aint seen my 2nd yet lol

  • have u made ur 2nd yet? lol

  • Nice one lad. Another good test.

  • brillaint mate. This is awesome. It looks like he actually filmed in it :D what font was that at the begining BTW?

  • arial rounded mt bold

  • @dwho1994 If it helps, I'm pretty sure the original font was AG Book Rounded (Outline of course).

And yes, it really does look like it was taped this way. Amazing!

  • @dwho1994 I SAW BLUE ON HIS HAND

  • Really good its almost like hes wearing

    the blue coat .
