TO end specualtion, the 04 cobra was faster than the 2002 trans am. by .1 of a sec in the quarter and actually slower 0-60. 5.1 (ws6) 5.3(Cobra) Ahem, now imagine what would happen if the trans am/camaro woulda have appeared from the factory with a supercharger. Wait, 250 did in 2002. and guess what, they ran 4.3 0-60s and 12.1 in the standing quarter. Stats are all over the net, u just choose not too look for em.

And thats coming rom someone who owns a head and cam formula ls1..both the 03 and 04 cobras came with an engine rated at 390hp but actually produce right around the 430 hp range. 0-60 was listed at 4.5 seconds and the quarter mile in the high 12's at over 110 mph which is more in every aspect then any LS1 equipped vehicle. Some have gone as low 12's stock in a perfect situation which isnt rare.

WS6's are the Trans Ams that were sent off to SLP for their factory performance package which had a high flow exhaust, an SLP air lid, and that beautiful ram-air hood..

The Firehawk was the one that SLP got there hands on along with the Camaro SS. SLP nver touched the WS6. The WS6 has been an RPO code for appearance and handling on the fire birds since the 80's. They didn't start the Ram-Air hood until the LT-1 models and it progressed into the LS-1 Trans-Am.

WS6's have beefed up sway bars, bushings and shocks with a little better flowing exhaust and a better intake box.

sorry pal, but thats not the case. WS6 was a factory performance package, has been since the 80's. They upgraded a few things and threw in a ram air hood to feed the ram air intake, which gave a boost of about 20 hp. It was not sent to SLP.

A big reason is they dont make as many firebirds as they do camaros. Part of the reason they went out of production was stricter restrictions on cars and a hugge craze for gas mileage. They will bring back the firebird.

I did check my facts, and they went out of production because the Mustang was killing them. The Mustang was doubling the sales of the Camaro AND Firebird together. If it was restrictions and gas concerns, they would not be bringing it back, and the Mustang would have been pulled from production too.

It wouldnt be hard to beat both maro and bird cuz combine them and the bird doesnt add a whole lot to the total count (not as many). Plus they are gonna make a hybrid camaro to make up for the gas mileage that the V8 will get. If they dont make the hybrid theres a chance they would have to pull the maro from production again. was in the news

Actually, the Mustang made the same or worse gas milage than the Camaro becuase of taller stock gears, plus the Camaro had a 6 speed stock whereas the 6 speed only came on the 03-04 Cobra and 07 GT500. I have not seen anything about a hybrid Camaro, but I have heard of possible cylinder deactiviation like the Charger uses.

WS6 is a RPO code, a Regular Production Order code, as is: LS1 LS2 LS7 LT1 ZR1 Z06 Z28 Z71 LQ9 WU8 Z51 1LE and the list goes on... WS6 is mostly a suspension and wheel package. There is also a WS7 RPO but Im not sure exactly what they include. Thats what Google's for.
