  • wow...what was the temperature like while being there?

  • @dreamwolves6 it was pretty pleasant this was end july I think, warm mild sunny, but I missed my train to Vancouver, and the mosquitos in Jasper at the hostel at night were awfull, in fact the hostel was awful

  • Nice video. I have been thru parts of Alberta, BC, and Manitoba years ago. I always liked Gordon Lightfoot's song "Canadian Railroad Trilogy". So I always fantasized about taking the rail thru Canada from west to east. I will someday soon. Do yourself a favor Sara and get that HD digital camera we talked about. You really need it to record some of the great stuff you see on your trips.

  • Canadian Pacific, carry me 3,000 miles,

Through the valleys and the forests,

To the sunshine of her smile.

'Cross the plains and the rugged mountains,

Keep this wandering boy from harm.

Canadian Pacific, take me to my baby's arms.

  • Kinda reminds me of Kerouac lounging in the grass on the way to Denver the first time. Did you get a piece of apple pie? Similar to the Tramway in Albuquerque on the Sandia, except there you're the only mountain around...nothing to look across to, except the ones to the North in Santa Fe. I wonder how far you can see on a clear day? Must be a huge distance. The old joke goes, "It's so flat here, I can watch my dog run away for three days" Not here...what a beautifully mountainous area!

  • on the train there was an English guy, and this other Canadian chap said he had been on the train a long time and it had taken two days just to get across Alberta

The English guy said I got a car like that in England

  • You know what? I'll bet if they had a tour that crossed the US and you had to ride on the back of a flat bed truck for hours and days on end there would be many takers. Travel is such a experience it as it happens sort of thing, don't you think? It's the unplanned that usually ends up being the remarkable, as opposed to the carefully plotted out schedule you prepared ahead of time. If you have to explain that to someone, they aren't going to get it. That's why they call it adventure! Fun video!

  • well i would definitely ride the gon, flat bed, with the little mother teresa bum

    waiting for the highball

have you read rail road earth and dharma bums

  • Not yet, but I'm going to. LOVED on the road...as you know. Wouldn't it be fun to roam the US in say, 1948 or so? I Love that era.

  • Gorgeous scenery. Yikes about getting stuck on the cable car.

  • @ebiannah ahh yeah I guess everything works our for a reason

    thats travel I guess
