in the song he is asking the radio DJ to help him find his girlfriend, he says she left home and hasnt returned, he said his girl loved to listen to his radio show, so he is writing the dj to ask him 4 help. when he is talking, he is actually reading the letter he wrote to the dj. hope that helps. very sweet song
